    Signature Beef Noodle Soup
    Ruby L.

I ordered takeout from Beef Up Noodle for me and my coworkers, but the ordering process was honestly a hassle. They kept canceling my order on every delivery app, saying something was out of stock, but never specifying what. I ended up placing two separate orders, only to find out later that it was the mooncakes that were unavailable. In total, I ordered 13 bowls of noodles. The noodles themselves were packed fine, but I really wish they had sealed the broth containers better. A few of them leaked, and some of the bags were messy when they arrived. I got the Signature Beef Noodle Soup, and while it was decent, it felt pretty basic. Maybe the dine-in experience is better, but for takeout, it was just okay.

Service was super awesome and most importantly is the smiles from the staff. The spicy lamb wonton was great especially the sauce, gives that extra kick. I would add the vinegar to balance the spicy. The sour cabbage noodles is the main attraction. The soup is perfect for a cold day, sour and umami, noodles were not overcooked and the beef is tender. I been here almost every month to satisfied my noodles soup. The place is quiet and not noisy for a relaxing lunch.

Absolutely love this place!! The food is beyond amazing - it's so flavorful and just melts in your mouth. The people who run it are also so friendly! They gave me and my friends some of those kebab sticks on the house! I will definitely be going back and can not recommend this place enough.

Got it delivered and would say the lamb skewers are worth ordering as they were super flavorful. However, I got the beef noodles and there wasn't much meat, but a lot of noodles.

Beef Up Noodle's yummy, fresh Sesame Paste Cold Noodle Special!

Wow! Love this place! Over a beautiful Spring weekend, was in the Gramercy area looking for something fresh and not hot to eat for lunch. Came across Beef Up Noodle, a Halal Lanzhou Beef Noodles restaurant. In the door, they advertised a $9.99 Sesame Paste Cold Noodle special. When I walked inside, noted in their open kitchen them pulling by hand the noodles in the back, so decided to go for it. Note - They advertise no tips are required because they provide their staff with fair and stable wages. They're set up for ordering via touch display, as I was paying in cash it required the counter person to process, which caused a little delay in getting change due to some issue with their system, but in the end he brought my change to the table. To drink, they offer self-serve complementary Yuzu and Lemon juices in addition to water. (Really liked the Yuzu!) He diligently brought my dish to the table. As condiments, they provide both a special chili paste and vinegar you may enjoy. While the sesame paste was slightly different than the cold sesame noodle dishes I've had at Chinese restaurants, my extremely fresh absolutely delicious Cold Noodle dish (see pic) really perfectly hit the spot! (Those condiments work well with it too!) If you're ordering the soup, it comes in an entree sized large bowl, so next time I'm going to explore other Central Asian specialties they have - Uyghur Lagman hand-pulled noodles (something I also love) and possibly something with beef, lamb or chicken. Looking forward to also trying their Saozi Noodles too! Given the service, no tip policy, and freshly prepared food, recommend you stop by yourself to Beef Up Noodle!

Amazing food especially the hand pulled noodles that they literally pull in front of you. Clean tables, plenty of seating, and it's self service. The brother in the noodles was so sweet. My only complaint is that when I came for dinner half of the appetizers we wanted ran out. Overall would recommend though because the noodles are so delicious!

HALAL beef noodle spot! Yessss! It was good and I enjoyed my dumpling soup. I found the broth flavorful. Recommend. They also give 30 free meals during which is admirable. Abby was so nice attending to us!!

What a hidden gem. Fast food done right. Halal. Uyugar food usually has mostly beef and lamb but they have chicken options here. The nicest staff. You don't tip here. The staff is payed well and they won't accept it. The dumplings are excellent. Yje chicken steamed and fried were juicy, fresh and flavorful. Pretty too. So colorful. The crispy had delicious crisps. The wonton in chili oil flavorful. Yummy. The beef noodle soup was outstanding. Silky broth with herbaceous taste and good oil ratio. The noodles were endless and good. The chicken with noodles fantastic. Huge portions. Nice cumin flavor. The lamb meat pie flaky and flavorful. Will be back.

The cold weather had me craving some beef noodle soup, and I've been eyeing Beef Up Noodle. They specialize in authentic halal Lanzhou beef noodle soup made with hand-pulled noodles. I got the beef noodle soup combo, which came with a veggie starter, one of the traditional noodle soups, a side of hard boiled egg, and a side of braised beef. For the veggie starter, I got the garlic broccoli, which tasted excellent. It was served cold, but it was probably my favorite thing from the meal. I liked the beef noodle soup too, but it needed a bit more salt for my taste. The noodles were nice and chewy and I could tell that they were hand pulled. The marinated beef was good too. The egg was served cold and hard boiled, so it honestly wasn't worth it in my opinion. The noodles were also a bit clumped, which signals that they probably make a bunch of stuff in advanced and let it sit and/or refrigerate it. There's nothing wrong with that, but that is one way they could improve. Otherwise it was a good experience, and I appreciate that it's halal.

I went here recently and they are already quite popular at least for lunch. The place has some growing pains such as their ordering machine not working yet and some dishes were not available. Side note that no tip is required here which is different for a Chinese spot. I got the combo for $20.99 with a choice of noodles between either the Beef Noodle Soup or the Saozi Noodles along with a Marinated Egg and a side dish or soda. I was originally going to get the saozi but they were out so I got the Beef Noodle Soup by process of elimination along with said egg and my side dish was their cucumber salad. I didn't bother with a soda and they have some serve your self drinks including tea and a yuzu drink which was a nice touch along with a listed orange one which wasn't available and she said there is also hot tea but I didn't look for it. Side note that the soups take a good while to come out as they make the hand pulled noodles from scratch per order. The staff inside were friendly with I believe the owner coming around and speaking with the various folks. The cucumber salad came out first. It had a bit less ingredients than expected compared to the photo but it was still pretty tasty. The cucumbers were in black vinegar and were refreshing. This was fine but I wouldn't pay $6.99 for it if it was cucumber only also on the menu even with the decent portion. Soon enough came out the soup which had a large amount of shredded beef along with radish, a lot of noodles, some cilantro, and said broth. By comparison to 1915 Lanzhou spot a half block away from here, the beef here was shredded but less flavorful and the broth was less salty and I think a tad tastier. I found the mala oil here a bit more fragrant here which was a plus. There was also bok choy in that soup while this had radish of course. This place is also halal while the other spot is definitely not. The biggest plus here are the noodles which are outstanding. You wait a while longer than Lanzhou but the noodle texture has a perfect chewy consistency. No complaints at all for the latter. The marinated egg which of course was a tea egg was also a lot better being already peeled and with a lot more tea flavor. Overall, I preferred the noodles here slightly so even with the wait and with lack of noodle choice, I preferred this spot. I presume this spot will soon have similar lines as 1915 nearby. I slightly prefer this one but both are excellent. Mid 4 for this spot, lower 4 for the other one.

    Lamb Wonton Soup

Stopped in for the first time on my lunch break and definitely will be back. The restaurant is kept clean and I didn't have to wait too long for my food. It is a self serve kind of experience; order on the kiosk and once your food is ready they call your name or order # and you pick up your tray and sit wherever you want. I tried the lamb wonton noodle soup. It was so delicious and flavorful. Looking forward to trying out something else on the menu.

beef up noodle is a newly opened halal hand pulled noodle restaurant. They specialize in Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles and their , sister restaurant Old Sport Food is on the NYT Top 100. This place is also a tip-free establishment! And the space has a big seating space making it convenient for students to sit in! what I ordered: signature beef noodle set: long long noodles with plenty of beef. The set comes with spicy cucumber salad and a soy egg another iconic noodle: their hot chicken plate stir fried noodle which comes with large pieces of chicken, peppers and a never ending noodle juicy pan fried dumplings: get them w beef, and you won't be sorry. Juicy juicy, literally similar to a soup dumpling chicken skewers: great for students who are looking for a quick bite, perf cooked lamb burger: crispy outside and juicy meat, what more can u ask for Make sure to check out beef up noodle. The staff were so kind, and I hope this business succeeds!! If ur a Baruch student, this is ur SIGN to finally try beef up noodle

The whole fish has a distinctive strong taste that took some getting used to...perhaps a lot of paprika and red pepper, but I'm not really sure...certainly a nice portion size. The cheese is on the lighter side and the textural combination is nice, sort of like a baklava cheesecake but crispier and lighter. I like heavier cheesecakes though. Drinks: golden negroni was spot on, but didn't like the sangria. They had a medjool cocktail that went off the menu to my disappointment. Appetizers: the octopus carpaccio was the best and I'd order again. The tuna tartare was a little too heavy on the sauce flavor, and the golden beets were unmemorable. The yellowtail was good I think, but didn't stand out either. Mains: the duck borek has more of a sausage like meat texture. I thought it was decent but the meat being duck didn't do much and I've had better boreks in Astoria. It comes with a vegetable side that is a nice offset. I tried a friend's lamb chops and this was really good with the cooked cherries.
