The view is amazing! I came here with my husband for dinner. They had a good selection of drinks and food. There is plenty of outdoor settings along with indoor. Their oysters were fresh! Definitely whatever sauce they use, it was good. I did eat their wasabi like paste with it and it was very strong so be careful! It was beautifully plated and am very thankful for the staff on providing such an amazing experience as well as quick delivery!

My friend and I stopped in to try happy or buzzy hour since they offer $1 oysters. On top of that they were kumiai, so I ordered a half dozen. They are served up deliciously with mignonette and horseradish! We also ordered the octopus ceviche that reminded me of a dish I had in Lisbon. My friend had the Surfliner Spritz, refreshing and crisp! And I couldn't resist the house Sauvignon Blanc for $6. I'd return to try more of the menu. The service was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is in a great location above Prospect with pleasing view and modern decor! HH 3-6 Daily!

Come for the views, stay for the buzz. Buzzy Hour runs daily 3-6 PM at @beesidebalconydelmar @beesidebalconylajolla with @chefchristophec (La Jolla & Del Mar) with $1 oysters, coastal bites, drink specials, honey beer, and burger deals--plus all-day happy hour Mondays. This is your sign to join the hive.

Went here for happy hour on Sunday. They have daily happy hour, including $1 oysters, which is a huge deal for my boyfriend who's from New England! As you can see in the photo, we ordered a ton for the four of us. Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly, and would always check up on us providing great service. They also have $4 beers and little happy hour meals that you can order for a great deal. The location is also great and has ocean views from the outside deck. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

We had a group dinner here our first night in town and the outdoor setting was lovely on a cool, spring evening. We started with charcuterie and spread boards which were good; the artichoke spread was a winner for me! The wine list had great options by the glass and I broke rules pairing a pinot noir with fish, but did not get any judgmental looks about that. The barramundi was delicious and the perfect light entree after a long day of travel. Service was good and food came out quickly. This is a great spot for a quiet relaxing dinner with fresh and lighter options.

Was fortunate to find this place. They have great seats outside the balcony overseeing the street and ocean. The octopus was grilled and seasoned perfectly. If I lived nearby, I would come here weekly. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The blackened tuna was delicious. This place should have a line out the door. Delicious food and great hospitality. Was here on a work trip from Los Angeles, but if I ever am in the area, I will definitely stop by. Excellent all around!

Fresh seafood And delicious food. Great happy hour with $1 oysters, street tacos, truffle fries, meatballs and more! Nice ambiance overlooking La Jolla. Close to downtown La Jolla and walking distance to beach. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Nice vibe!

Cute little restaurant with a great view of La Jolla. Service was a bit slow and seemed completely uninterested about being there. Yet still was friendly. The salad was fresh and the gyro was enjoyed.

The venue was so aesthetic and cohesive. It felt like it would've been more expensive than what it was. We originally were going to go somewhere else but I'm so glad we chose Beeside instead. The waitress was kind and patient which was nice given that it was our first time there. I got the Beeside burger which was sooo delicious. The ingredients were simple but the flavors were immaculate. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in La Jolla !

Review is for the speakeasy: Disappointed on What Should've Been a Magical Evening! I don't take writing bad reviews lightly especially when it comes to San Diego establishments. But when you're dining in La Jolla, where locals and tourists alike come expecting quality, there's a certain standard you just can't overlook. If you're going to rely on visitors from Del Mar, Coronado, or out of town to carry your business, you still need to win over the locals especially those who come ready to celebrate and spend money. This missed the mark entirely. My wife and I made a reservation at BeeSide Balcony for a 5:45 PM seating during my birthday weekend. We arrived about 10 minutes early, excited to enjoy what looked like a magical little floral hideaway. The ambiance was stunning--no denying that. We were seated with a sense of awe, ready for a special evening. But then... nothing. For the next 30 minutes, we waited. No greeting from a server, no menus just a single glass of water left by the hostess. We explored the space, took photos, admired the setting... but no one ever checked in. Eventually, I approached the hostess (the only person who remembered seating us) just to be acknowledged. That alone was frustrating, especially for such a well-presented La Jolla location. When the food finally arrived, it unfortunately echoed the service uninspired and underwhelming. The fries, sliders, and chicken lollipops were lukewarm at best. And those "lollipops"? More like oddly-cut chicken skewers on sticks--definitely not what the menu described. The drinks were also a letdown. I ordered the Cucumber Collins and my wife had the Honey Apricot both looked great but tasted unfinished, like something was just... missing. I also judge restaurants by their bathrooms, and I couldn't help but notice how cheap and poorly maintained yours is compared to the cost of the food. For the prices being charged, you could at least invest in upgrades and ensure it smells clean. Other locations in the area do a much better job maintaining a consistent level of cleanliness and elegance throughout the entire restaurant. What made it worse was the silence. The assigned server never once apologized for the delay, never acknowledged the wait, and offered no explanation. It was a level of unprofessionalism that left us embarrassed for even recommending the place to begin with. Thankfully, we salvaged the night by going elsewhere but what was supposed to be a joyful, pre-celebration cocktail hour turned into a disappointing start to my birthday. Maybe we came too early. Maybe it was just an off day. But professionalism should never clock in late and at this price point, neither should quality. Not recommending BeeSide Balcony Speakeasy at this time. The setting is gorgeous, no doubt but the service and execution need to match the promise. I may return someday, but it won't be for a special occasion. And next time, my expectations will be much lower.

The branzino was super delicious along with the steak frites that had the most tender, flavorful steak! There were a few hiccups in the meal but our server was very kind and gave us dessert on the house. I do wish the branzino came de-boned

It's a Friday at lunch and we were a little early for the lunch crowd. The hostess seated us promptly and the server was very nice and accommodating. Started with a refreshing lavender honey lemonade. I could taste the honey and the lemonade was a bit faint. The drink didn't quite look as lovely as the Yelp photo of it. I also ordered the Spanish Octopus because it looked exotic and appetizing also on Yelp. However, the server noticing I was looking at the photo said that the Spanish Octopus was no longer served whole. That it would be chopped up but still tasty. I was disappointed, but I went ahead and ordered it. It was very delicious, but I would've liked it to be a whole piece. I wonder why it was no longer served whole. My friends ordered burgers and fries, and they were happy with their order. I would come again, but try another dish and drink.

We called to add a couple extra people, and then those people didn't show; they rolled with the punches. The table was set when we got there. Service throughout was friendly, prompt, over and above. Ambiance was great, in a very important way: There was nice music, but you could hear yourself think! Nobody had to repeat themselves a million times. Perfect sound level for a group our size. But the food was the absolute star of the show. Literally everything was perfect. For shareable appetizers, we got both the trio and the mezze plate. It was basically hummus flights, with pita triangles and multicolored carrots. All the hummus types were delicious. But a special shout-out to the truffle hummus--it was divine. It was very truffle-y, but it was also very light and creamy. Somehow that's not a combo I expected. Next, I'm already a falafel fan, but good *Lord* their falafel was unreal. Some kind of perfect crispiness on the outside and soft flakiness inside that I've never experienced before in falafel. I asked the server what he'd recommend, and he said beef kebab. I got the beef kebab. He was not wrong. The meat itself was sumptuous. And I just moved from Texas, where every other backyard BBQ has someone smoking their brisket for 18 hours. This was the kind of cook where even the marbling melts in your mouth. Even the carrots were good, I don't know what to tell ya. 10/10.

It felt very fancy and was one of the most exotic things I have eaten in a long time. We also got the dolmas (grapes leaves) and the Bolani (turnover stuffed with leek and potatoes) as an appetizer. The dolmas were ok, but the bolani was exceptional, like a leek and potato quesadilla but lighter. It was hard to put into words. Just order it and enjoy! Lastly, for drinks we got a Cherry Blossom Tea (Sheer Chai). Again, it tasted like nothing I have ever ordered before, which is hard to do because we are adventurous eaters. It tasted like cream straight from the cow mixed with a cherry blossom-y and strawberry-ish Chai flavor+ black tea flavor. One of the best drinks that I have experienced in 2025 by far. For the La Jolla neighborhood and how fancy the inside feels, the prices were similar to any regular sit down restaurant. Quite the bargain for the bouquet of flavors and beautifully executed dishes that we had. I would definitely recommend them.
