a slice of pizza on a paper plate

If you go there do not order thin. This pizza's dough is not made on premises. This is a premade and precooked dough that they add ingredients on top, so it taste like a thick export soda cracker with tomato sauce and cheese. Awful awful. This was so bad that it left me intrigued. In a town where pizza is a local pride issue, the question is why sell this abomination. We spent almost $25. That would have bought us 2 much larger pies from Costco or 3 DiGiorno's that would tasted much much better. I will give them one more try for a deep dish, that I recall was very decent, but this one is a hard pass. Still the question. Why offer this? In Chicago of all places?

Just ordered a grilled chicken salad. I got home after 25 minutes waiting for this crap!! 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of cukes, 4 croutons, NO CHEESSE!!! They suck,, will not be back ever!! Ya'll just keep on talking in the back. Yep, I UNDERSTAND SPANISH!! Paid 13 bucks for dust on Central. Keep driving pass it,,,not worth it.

Ordered pizza for Friday Family night and it was great. Thin crust with sausage, cheese, onions, bellpepper, mushrooms and jalapeno. They really laid on the toppings my pizza was as thick as a sandwich. I was told pick up at 430 pizza wasnt ready until 445. In the end it was worth the wait. also the price was nice considering how thick the pizza toppings were.

While traveling through the outskirts of Chicago for the night, we decided on Beggars because they are in the Blue Island location and Uber Eats delivered. Pizza was great, with thick toppings. We got the stuffed pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, green olives and extra cheese!

Just had pizza delivered pizza and it is pretty lousy. Ordered medium sausage, onion, and green peppers cooked well but that didn't mean burn the crust which already tastes like cardboard. I'm hungry so I ate a few pieces. The rest will go in the garbage. Good money wasted.

Those love pizza HAVE to stop by one of these places . It had by far the best deep dish pizza I ever had. They had the store decorated in the holiday spirit and the customer service was excellent. We had started off with mushroom pizza bread( customizable appetizers from the get go??!!; I'm already pumped!) While we waited for the deep dish. The crust was not too doughy or garlicky and kept your mouth watering from the time we saw it to the time we finished the last bite. Then the grandaddy of them(deep dish pizza) all came out, and boy was it worth the 30 minute wait. Some might say it was a little too cheesy, but I feel that's just people trying to hate on a great pie. We had to pass on dessert because we were stuffed, but from the menu they had looked appealing enough. If you are in Oak Lawn, IL or in the chicago area in general I recommend trying one of these restaurants.

Beggers pizza is awesome the sausage with gardinera is really good and it's not that hot just the right amount of heat and the crust is not soggy and of course the cheese is piled on thick

Being a Chicago native, eating pizza is almost a necessity if you want to consider yourself a True Chicagoan. When it comes to thin crust pizza, especially on the south side of Chicago it's hard to find many places better than Beggars pizza. Their motto is "We lay it on thick" and boy do they ever. The amount of toppings (especially the cheese) that they put on the pizza makes you feel like you ordered extra toppings. I'm a guy that loves to devour pizza and go for seconds and thirds but this loaded pizza makes it extremely difficult to do so without regretting overeating. It is so well known on the south side of Chicago that my high school sporting events buys the pizza in bulk in order to distribute to the fans during home games. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I have tried other things on the menu, the wings in particular and was not that impressed by the size or the taste. They do pizza and the do it VERY well. I have it as often as I can.

There it is with that goofy scooby doo window painting!!!

May be less expensive pizza in the area, but few places are as good. They are quite generous with the toppings.

Peace and love, everyone!!…read more It's been a long minute since I left a review, so I'm happy to talk about a new food place! My wife and I finally ordered from Paisans Pizza in Oak Lawn, something we've been wanting to do for a long minute. As I have been working out and watching how much I eat since December, I very much look forward to having a 'big back day', as my daughter says! So the online ordering process was very easy. I ordered a medium cheese pizza, a medium sausage pizza, the Southwestern egg rolls, and finally some garlic parmesan wings. When I went to pick up the food, it took a few minutes to find a parking space as there are no spaces for pick-up orders. But when I went in there, nice ambiance with the planes, the cars, and the camper, which is where I had to pick up my order from. The place was jumping (I was there about 6pm on Saturday), and it seemed like a nice overall vibe. Ok so I pick up my order and get back to the crib! First, the pizza: both pizzas were really good. Nice amount of cheese, nice amount of sausage, for both, nice amount of sauce. Now the pizza was good, let me be clear, but on the box it says the 'best pizza in the world'. So my honest opinion is that is it better than all the other pizza places in the area (Domino's, Nonna's, etc)? YES...easily! Is Paisans better than Beggars Pizza? I say yes, my wife says no. Either way, we both agree that they have some good pizza! The garlic parmesan wings lived up to the hype. Crispy wings, nice amount of seasoning, not overpowering. As for the Southwestern egg rolls, this was the only thing I ordered where I was like 'meh'. The shell wasn't really crispy, I think it was a bit bland, and the sauce cup had opened up and spilled in its takeout box. Put it this way...Chili's Southwestern egg rolls are much better, by comparison, in terms of flavor. All in all, this was not a bad eating experience. The food was good all around, and for me, only the egg rolls could have been better. Also, the food was a little on the expensive side....so that is something to keep in mind also. So, does this mean we'll be back? Absolutely! The city of Chicago itself has FOUR main catagories of pizza styles that were invented Here:... 1): Deep-Dish - This has a thick crust & lots of toppings. 2). Stuffed - This is 'double-decker pizza where the toppings are laid atop the bottom dough along with pounds of grated cheese, and then another sheet of dough is placed on top to which is added many ladles of tangy pizza sauce. Suffed Pizza usually take about 45 minutes to bake. 3). Tavern Style - This is a Thin-Crust Pizza that became popular in Chicago's Southside neighborhoods long before Deep-Dish or Suffed Pizza ever saw a mouth. It was created for the men who work in the 'Stock Yards' butchering cows. After a long day these workers would often go to their local tavern to have a beer and maybe a snack (if the tavern actually had any snacks. Then, eventually ONE Tavern caught on, that if they offered a Snack, the men drinking would always order another beer. So they began making inexpensive, thin-crust pizza (not to sell but to give-away as a promotion. And to make it easier to both snack and drink at same time, the tavern cut the pizza in straight lines, east to west, and north to south. Then they just passed the pizza down the bar and everbody took a square, (you can tell a lot about a person from watching which slices they choose: the gooey soft inner squares full of melted cheese and sauce-oil; - the rectangular edge pieces with a center that's gooey and a crunchy crust-edge; - and finally, the "Runt" of the "Zaa", the little, dry, triangular pieces (I cannot call in "a slice", because... a slice of WHAT?!?) . The first tavern to do this was Vito & Nick's. And it still does it ( only Now Vito & Nick's charges for its Pizza

It's not overpowering, but the odor is in the atmosphere along with the smell of the pizza oven - a combination of a musty old carpet, damp old rags, a urinal, and bread baking. The service was attentive and the server was nice enough. Now for the iconic pizza. We had a large half sausage and half Italian beef with mild giardiniera. We enjoyed the sausage half more than the beef half. Overall the pizza was good, but it's not something I'd drive 40+ minutes each to have again. If V&N's was located in my neighborhood, they'd would probably join my pizza rotation. I enjoyed their crispy crust, but didn't love their sauce. The sausage was good. The beef was good but the giardiniera was just okay. We also had the combo appetizer which was also pretty good. V&N's is a legendary Chicago pizza spot, so we had to check it out. While certainly good, it disappointed because it was not great.
