I live down the street from Beijing Bistro in the Whispering Hollow Neighborhood. I have eaten there twice once getting the Sesame Chicken and once getting the Chicken Lo Mein and both times I was happy with the food. The restaurant is small but clean and was a nice place to eat. There was nothing that stood out to make it 5 star, but the only criticism was I felt my portion was a little smaller that what I am accustomed to. I'm so glad that we have a place that delivers in Buda. Seems like the only places to deliver are pizza and Chinese food. With that being said, I just wish that the food had more flavor. On the pricey side for ingredient quality and portion but totally solid flavors. They can charge whatever they want till there is some competition in an area with few other options for miles. Always fresh food and friendly staff the handful of times I've been. My husband and I have eaten take out from here 4 or 5 times. The food is good, not amazing, but it definitely satisfies our craving much better than the other lacklustre Chinese restaurants in this area. The garlic beef, mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, lo mein, egg rolls and soups are all great choices. The prices are a tad high but not prohibitive. I just discovered this place this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. The attention the wait staff gave was phenomanal. The prices were a little high but and the portions were a bit small, but the taste was good too. The Kung-Pao needed to be a little spicier and have a little more overall flavor. After giving this restaurant many chances, I am finally going to say I am done. There have been so many issues with everything except the taste. Today was the last straw. I have ordered many times to be picked up with an ETA of 10-15 minutes. Ok perfect. Get there in 20 and the food still isn't ready. No sorry not anything. I understand busy restaurant, there will be delays but for this to happen when there are more employees than guests is ridiculous and this happens on more than one occasion. Today. I tried to actually order online, knowing it was going to be 45 minutes and a call would be made to me if any delays. An hour and 10 minutes later I call to get an ETA and the food hasn't been packaged yet. Attached is an image showing they would call and I had to call. When asking to speak to the manager a kid sounding no older than 17 says he is it. I have his name but wish to not "blast" anyone individually. Again no action, fault or and apologize. I guess this is what happens when you have kids running the place. I'm sorry I have tried many times and am done. I will be letting everyone in my neighborhood know and spreading it through friends and family. I hate ordering from chain restaurants but at least their customer service is subpar compared to yours. read more

Beijing Bistro - Chinese Near Me - Buda, Texas

We ordered online for delivery through Eat24. After 20 minutes, I got a text that the restaurant didn't have enough drivers, did I want to pick the food? I answered yes and went to the restaurant. I found three young women behind the counter hanging out and two young men; one waiting on a table (the only customers in the place) and the other bussing a table. So how is it you can't deliver? The food. We ordered 4 combination plates and paid $60 after tax. The wonton soup was awful. It was a salty broth, maybe vegetable, not enough flavor there for me to tell, and a vegetable dumpling - not a wonton. It was the same dumpling I could get frozen at HEB or Costco. The general tso chicken and honey chicken were tasty and the Buddha's feast was decent (aside from the tofu) but that was the only good part of the meal. The last item we tried, the combination Lo Mein was fine, but the noodles were over cooked and mushy. Additionally, the fried rice here is just awful. It's white rice with frozen peas and carrots and a dash of soy sauce. Seriously - Panda Express makes better Fried Rice than this. A tip on the egg rolls - the "dinner" egg rolls are vegetable spring rolls. Upgrade to the chicken egg rolls. They taste much better and skip the duck sauce. We have eaten at this place 3 times and it takes a lot for me to write a yelp review....but this place has got to be kidding me...if you are going to charge P.F. Chang prices...the food should be up to par. My wonton soup had 1 wonton in it, that I could buy frozen from HEB. I don't mind paying for good food, but seriously the food was nothing special. The food is good, but the delivery service is crap. I live 3.9 miles away. When I moved here last year, the online delivery system wouldn't work for my address. I called and was told the delivery fee would be $5 instead of $3. That was fine, and I ordered by phone again later. The third time I tried to order, I was told they no longer delivered here. It was disappointing since we have so few delivery options, but whatever. Today, my wife tried the website again and it worked with the extra fee. 20 minutes later, a rep from Eat24 called to convey that Beijing Bistro "doesn't have enough drivers right now". I am so sorry to have to write this review. Beijing Bistro was one of my favorite delivery restaurants but unfortunately the management must not care anymore. I have had at least 2 dozen meals there, a few at the restaurant, mostly delivery. Twice in the last 4 deliveries they could not find my order both through my phone call and yelp chat. Then it was almost 2 hours for the last delivery which I cancelled. I am 5 minutes, no kidding 5 minutes, from the restaurant. Since good Chinese is hard to find I was pleased when they arrived and lived with the greasy spoon style food they prepared. I overlooked that they didn't know what authentic fried rice is supposed to taste like by ordering some of their decent over oily lo mein. The egg rolls are terrible but their chicken rolls are great? They should be the same just no chicken? The spice was never the same, sometimes hot sometimes not. Ouch! I even facebook messaged the owner and asked for a return to the early days. I was polite and suggestful. Crickets! So don't expect consistency or timely food any longer. Ordered delivery last night and was very happy with the food! Food arrived 30 minutes earlier than they said,which is great when you're hungry! The basil chicken was excellent (mushrooms, jalapenos, basil)... i will definitely order again. Veggies were fresh. The sweet and sour chicken and fried rice were yummy, too. The chicken was fresher than other Asian delivery I've had. Lastly, got the coconut curry chicken. It was good, but i would have loved a stronger coconut flavor. The coconut flavor was kind of vague. And if you like spicy, order "very spicy". I ordered "spicy" on both the basil and coconut, but neither were especially spicy. Flavorful, yes, but not spicy. I first have to admit that I have never eaten their food. I called this past weekend for a delivery order. I received a coupon from HEB that I wanted to use. On the coupon it clearly states, "one per table or order." Meaning you can use the coupon for a delivery. When I called the restaurant to place my order, I let the person know that I wanted to use the coupon. She stated that the coupons were misprinted and that I couldn't use it. Mind you this coupon comes up about three times on every HEB receipt. I do not like the bait and switch technique to get customers to try your food. I've given this place a try a handful of times now for delivery. The food is always delivered hot and the drivers are extremely courteous. The problem I have is with the food itself. It's really, really oily. After the first two times trying different dishes, I realized the stir fry and lo mein dishes are the oiliest, so the last several times I've ordered I've asked for very, VERY light oil to be used. Great food for the price range. I was really blown away by the waitstaff. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. They checked in regularly and made sure our drinks were always full and the manager came out and checked on everyone as well. I got the sesame chicken and it tasted pretty good.
