The Vegetarian Buddha's Delight was magnificent, especially with the cubed tofu that was well done as I requested. The hot sour soup was so tasty we asked for a take home portion and they happily obliged. This is a great little Chinese restaurant In hays county. When I first moved here in 2017 it was really difficult to find any good Chinese food without traveling to Austin. Everything on the menu here is pretty good, the staff are friendly. I prefer takeout over dining in, but that's just my personal preference. read more

The family decided to try Beijing Bistro, and were very pleasantly surprised. First of all, the customizing options were pretty cool, from type of soup, eggroll, and spice level. The food was authentic and there was PLENTY of it. The quantity of food was such that there were very tasty leftovers, and they aren't afraid to go really spicy if that is your desire. The eggrolls are almost always over cooked now; the vegetable rolls greasy and dark. I ordered Buddha's Feast and got two thin pieces of tofu. Just a few pieces of meat in the Beef and Broccoli. Sub par food, mediocre service. Ordered 3 different plates. The one thing they did do is give me hot food, which is not common these days. Had my order Togo, I wasn't given and eating utensils. I guess those are only given upon request just like the condiments. It's the same distance to Panda Express. So choose wisely, because they are about them same quality wise. read more

This review is long overdue. My boyfriend and I always get the same thing and we are never disappointed. We get egg rolls, general Tao chicken, chicken lo mein, hot and sour soup and sometimes the cheese puffs. It is delicious every time ! They make their own sauce too. I've eaten at Beijing since they first opened. When Eddie (the owner) was still in good health, it was a great place. In my opinion things have gone down hill since the kids started running the place in the evenings. The staff is entirely young 20 year old kids. So Monday night I finally paid the price. I ordered chicken and shrimp with hot pepper sauce. We ate dinner and paid our check. By the time I got home, I had stomach pain that was very uncomfortable. Overnight, the pain was even worse. I didn't sleep much and had to call into work. The next day was when the fun really started. I had the full on exorcist puke at least 4 times that day. Today is Thursday and I still have the odd stomach pains and noises. Suffice it to say that Beijing has lost a customer. read more

Little hidden gem in Kyle. We had no idea this place even existed up until really recently. It is so delicious! The orange tofu is amazing! It's perfectly crisp spicy and sweet! We also loved the hot garlic green beans. They have a beer and wine bar and it's small and cozy. The customer service has been great all three of our visits so far! read more

The food is tasty, but they need to start using different packaging for To Go Orders. The freshly hot cooked food melted the styrofoam containers they use and so your tasty Chinese meal is now contaminated with chemicals from the styrofoam leaching into the sauce. I would get take out from here again only if they change their packaging. What ever happened to the small Chinese To Go Boxes. Seems like hardly any place uses them anymore. read more

Been getting food from here for years. At first it was just bad with the exception of the hot and sour soup. Since it's the only Chinese food around here I keep going back. It's progressively gotten better. I always get General Tso's chicken. The sauce is really good and flavorful. The chicken is hit or miss, though. Sometimes it's juicy and cooked perfectly, other times it's really hard and chewy. The lo mein is really good, but it's soooooo greasy. Like unnecessarily greasy. They definitely don't need that much oil to make it. I've also tried the orange peel chicken and sesame chicken and they both taste very similar to the General Tso's, a little difficult to discern the difference. For decent Chinese close by this is where I go. When I want better American Chinese food, and am up for the drive, I go into Austin. read more

Corn in the egg drop soup (a first...) and the Mongolian chicken wasn't sweet at all. I've never had Mongolian beer or chicken that wasn't sweet. The egg roll had a very different taste as well. Having little local spots for lunch can be frustrating but now that I have been introduced to Beijing Bistro I am game for lunch here all of the time! (when I am in Buda). First off the word of mouth about Beijing Bistro is was caught my ear initially. Many folks I work with recommended this place to me and boasted about the service and quality and deliciousness of the food. They were not wrong! I have only come during lunch times during the week and each visit has been delightful, fast/friendly service, and a heap-full of food for the lunch specials. Often times I wonder if they are serving me a dinner portion! Each lunch special comes with soup, eggroll, and your choice of white or fried rice. They got a nice little bar that faces the bar and tv's so I can see myself in the future catching up with my Buda buds over some sake or beer while watching a Spurs game or any game. Plenty of space for even a group of people to come here at eat which is a plus. The owner will walk around, serve food, refill drinks, offer to get you more rice if he sees you're running low, and is overall friendly and sweet to everyone eating. I appreciate service and his willingness to check in with all tables. Parking super easy and in front and if you manage to get a booth with the view of the open field behind Beijing Bistro - well consider yourself lucky! On a gorgeous day you can see the wildflowers and birds flying around while you eat your delicious Chinese food no matter what you get.
