Two-item plate with half fried rice half chow mein, Kung Pao Chicken, and garlic chicken
    Molly L.

We have come here a couple of times now and each time there is a steady stream of people. It's because of how generous they are with their portions, with good food as well. We have ordered the chicken curry, the egg foo Yong (it was not what we were used to), the garlic chicken, and the kung pao chicken. The chow mein has more flavor than the fried rice, but both are standard. The curry was a little strong and not my favorite. My partner wasn't a fan of the egg foo Yong. But we both liked the kung pao chicken and the garlic chicken since both had good flavors. The food is super generous, just over $13 for a two-entree plate that has more than enough food for two people. The only complaint I have is that this place can get so busy that the tables aren't cleaned as often as they should be. In fact, the inside can be a bit dingy. But the staff are nice and at least there is seating when we are looking for some.

This is good Chinese food, for fast food. It was a little bit dirty inside, the customer service is nice I got there at the end of the night there was somewhat limited selection but overall very good for the price and serving size.

Our favorite fast-food Chinese in San Leandro! I've tried most of the fast-food places in San Leandro, and this is the best one. Not only is the food good, but the customer service is excellent, which is hard to find at Chinese places. Parking is easy to find since they have a private lot. I can see why everyone loves their BBQ chicken. It's a must-order if you haven't tried it. The BBQ chicken is extra charred, like it came off the BBQ grill. It's flavorful without being too sweet. I love salt pepper pork chops, and theirs is pretty good. Their salt and pepper pork chops are bone-in, which is how I like them. They have more flavor and meat than the boneless ones. I also ordered beef fried rice, which I preferred over the premade fried rice under the warming lamp. It is more flavorful. Their sweet and sour chicken is not what most people use in the reddish color. It comes out more like an orange/yellow, similar to lemon chicken. It still tasted good, but could use more tart.

Food 4/5 This place I've actually patronized some they first opened. When I lived closer I was more of a regular. Lee knew me and my son who was a toddler at the time. I miss her but she's older now and home enjoying the grand kids and resting. My friend's mom turned me on to Beijing Bowl for the teriyaki chicken. Nice and tender with that perfect grill taste. Before my food allergies I enjoyed many items on the menu like the chow mein, fried rice, pot stickers, Crab Rangoon, egg rolls, hot n sour soup, spicy chicken (a real fan fav). These days I tend to get the chicken Thai salad that's lite, healthy and does not trigger any of my food allergies. Service 4/5 The young ladies who work there are great but I want Lee back. I love establishing rapports and building relationships at my regular places. Lee definitely knew my son and I. Ambiance 3/5 Nothing fancy. Buffet style, Chinese fast food to go. They offer catering too.

"BeiJing Bowl" is a Chinese fast food restaurant in San Leandro, CA. What's Chinese fast food? It's a chinese restaurant that has already prepared foods in steamers or heated trays that are ready to serve. You tell them what you want, and they serve it to you. Beijing Bowl also has "cook to order" entrees as specials. The sign says it'll take 10-15 mins to cook. Most likely they use hot woks, and can cook foods very quickly. Last Thursday I got done with my job in San Leandro, and Beijing Bowl was still open at 8pm. There was a steady flow of customers, which is a good sign. A chinese fast food place with steady business usually means the food is replenished or rotated often. So I went in, looked over the trays, and asked for: Fried Rice with Curry Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. I also got a side of BBQ Chicken. For rice with 2 items, it's alot of food. You could probably feed 2 people. The fried rice was moist, not sticky, and fairly fresh. I picked rice because it can soak up the gravy and flavors of the curry chicken and kung pao. I liked the Curry Chicken. It was tender boneless chicken, potatoes, onions, and some other vegetables. Nice flavor, brought back some memories. I didn't like their Kung Pao Chicken recipe. It was chicken, onions, and undercooked carrots. Maybe red specks of chili peppers? Peanuts optional. I don't like crunchy carrots in cooked foods. I guess bell peppers are too expensive? Kung Pao Chicken should have chopped bell peppers, scallions, and a dose of red chili peppers. Americanized Kung Pao is usually sweet, savory, and with a little spicy heat. Peanuts give it a nutty flavor. The side of BBQ Chicken was a little dry and tough, I kind of expected that. But it looked good. Overall, a fairly good experience. You get alot of food for the price. I guess smart selections come with experience. I was there one hour before closing, and there was a limited selection. BeiJing Bowl is on the corner of Washington Ave & Halcyon Dr, in San Leandro. Free Parking in adjacent strip mall.

I'm going to miss Beijing bowl as my go to fast Chinese food restaurant when I move outta San Leandro! The ladies at the counter are the sweetest and the food is cheap but with quality taste. Super affordable and you get huge portions. You can't go wrong with anything here and here's a tip: if you don't want just chow mein or rice, ask for half and half with your plate! I love the egg drop soup here and wonton chips Literally drooling thinking about this place lol

My dad got the sizzling beef which came with an ice tea and I got the Hainan chicken plate which came out super fast. The food was decent but the service was awful. Because we don't speak Cantonese and speak Mandarin instead? And I don't mean efficient, no nonsense service, I mean downright rude. I asked for to go boxes and she literally came over and I had to get out of my bench seat in order to reach the boxes and bag .... she couldn't be bothered to actually hand them to me. When my dad asked for some refill on his ice tea, she literally yelled at him and said 'YOU GOT THIS FOR FREE." There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

We politely requested a table farther inside the restaurant. After being seated, we waited approximately 5-7 minutes without being greeted. Eventually, a waitress approached our table and informed us that the table we were seated at was reserved and that we would need to move back to the table near the entrance. We explained that the area by the door was cold and windy and asked whether another table might be available. We were told, in what felt like a cold and unfriendly manner, that all of the other tables had been reserved. At that point, our group decided to leave, as it seemed there was no suitable seating available. This information would have been helpful to know before we were seated. As we were leaving, the waitress reached out and grabbed my daughter's arm to tell her that another table could be arranged. By then, most of our party had already exited the restaurant. The experience left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed due to the lack of communication, hospitality, and overall customer service.

The scallion pancakes were not crispy or flaky - Trader Joe's are better. The tofu rolls were cold on one side, like refrigerator cold, while the other side was lukewarm. The jellyfish salad had no flavor whatsoever, just the very slightest hint of sesame. No salt, nothing. The seaweed salad was decent. The deep fried mochi puffs with meat filling were bad. The outer shell was too thick so the inside was uncooked and doughy. Inedible. And, the cold chicken feet were so tough they were in edible.
