Went to Chef's Bistro for food and drinks with my sister and fiancée, and I'll be honest--the night itself wasn't the best, but the experience at the restaurant still stood out. The service was on point from start to finish--attentive, friendly, and quick. We started with the lobster and shrimp potstickers , and they were absolutely amazing--definitely something I would order again without hesitation. For dinner, we ordered the string bean chicken, chicken fried rice, and salt and pepper wings. Everything came out family-style, which I loved, and the portions were generous--we had plenty left to take home. Even though the evening overall was a bit of a bust, the food and service made it worth it. I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

Came here to meet up with my old coworkers. Food was absolutely amazing and the watermelon martinis were to die for! Service was great - will come back.

This location has plenty of parking in the back and you can also enter the restaurant through the back. It's a large restaurant with a banquet room, a little private seating area, as well as plenty tables to bring your family and friends. Wait staff is always very courteous, professional, and attentive the food is delicious. We ordered the combination chow mein, chow fun, sweet-and-sour shrimp, fried crab wonton, shrimp and crab egg rolls, shrimp dumplings and their margaritas are fantastic. This is a community gem.

I don't know what these reviews are on but they lied to me. The food here was nasty. I got garlic noodles and it was literally reused flavorless chowmein with garlic cloves just added on top. Very disappointing because It wasn't cheap. Felt greasy and flavorless; I couldn't even finish my meal. I also got regular chowmein with chicken but it was also nasty. If you wanna waste ur money on reused flavorless food go here. I wish I had something nice to say but I don't which is sad.

Very good solid spot! Food was good I really enjoyed the salt and pepper squid very good appetizer to start with. Orange chicken was also a solid dish not soggy had a good crisp to chicken. Other dish's like chow mien and beef broccoli were good nothing to complain about with food and service. Staff were very nice and helpful even with our kids running around. Sorry about that guys we will be back with no kids next time lol. But very good spot parking in back of building the ambiance was good nicely decorated water fountain was not on maybe it was being worked on but that would be really nice to see working with maybe some koi inside. Also looks like you rent out a space for parties so look into that!

This is our 4th-5th time here for the last 2-3 years but never did I think of giving out reviews before lol I just keep forgetting and so sorry about that. The parking is behind the building so you will enter on the back of the resto. The place has a nice feel and decor to it. I just wish that they would focus a little bit and improve on the hallway entrance since the first thing you can see is the kitchen and the toilet as soon as you get in. For me it's a little eye sore considering the interior has so much character and personality. Anyways, the food were still as great and the staff were very attentive and fast too. Well actually there were only 5 tables occupied since we went there a little early like 1130.... By the time we left, the place was half full already. It is a pretty big place and They also have a private room if you want to hold a private event and a full bar as well. I have to say I still highly recommend this place. They have been here for almost 15 yrs I think since we move to Hayward. It's worth trying to dine here. Im sorry it took time for me to poat my review and also I know I took pictures of our food order but can't seem to find them right now. They might have been on my other phone. Will post as soon as I find them.

I needed a comfort meal for a cold day so I ordered Chef's Experience off Uber Eats after wanting to try them for years since the front stands out over in downtown Hayward. The main reason I went with them was because I really wanted a hot and sour soup and theirs was the only one that was a decent price to order as a side so I could order lots of other dishes as well! The hot and sour soup hit the spot for that craving. I also got the XLB (they were ok, kinda on the small side), Lemon chicken (also ok-I do like that they put the lemon sauce on the side so the chicken doesn't get so soggy), fried rice was good, chicken chow mein was perfect, and crispy shrimp dumplings (basically shrimp in wonton wrappers) was indeed crispy. I do like that the meal overall didn't taste overly greasy or salty-sometimes I didn't feel super bloated after this meal as I sometimes do after chinese food lol.

Does Chef Experience still offer the Happy Hour with drinks and appetizers in the bar area?

I'm not too sure about that answer but A lot of changes has happened to chefs, you may want to give them a call.

Is the dining room back open for lunch again or do they still only do take out orders?

    It's open after 4pm

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.

We ordered the sizzling rice soup, dry-fried string beans, garlic eggplant, garlic chicken, mao pao tofu, gindo piguot (not sure how to spell it in English), and crispy seafood noodles. Their gindo piguot (sweet and sour short rib I think) really stood out and we ended up ordering 2 of them. Asia delight is a humble "point point" combo based Chinese food place. Think authentic Panda Express. Super affordable place where you can get a 2 item combo with chow mein/fried rice for $12.49. My go to is Chow mein, Chinese pork bbq, and the black pepper beef. This location appears to be the only one that carries the Chinese pork bbq. On the side my wife and I split either the salt n pepper fish or chicken wings. A medium gets you about 6-8 pieces of chicken wings. Super solid and they don't skimp on the amount on anything. So the value is there! Low key is enough to spread out into two meals. Staff is direct and efficient. Quick with packing up your items and moving it to the cashiers for you to pay out. Prepared foods are on a steam table or under hot lights. You pick a meal combo, and they serve it onto foam trays. Then they suggestive sell add-on's and drinks. The formula for success is simple: - tasty food, big portions, and affordable prices. People rave about this place on social media, so I have to come check it out. So it's Friday around dinner time. I'm cruising on Hesperian Blvd in the right lane. I pass the Valero station and realize.....this is where Asia Delight is! They have a dining area with 4-6 small square tables. But the tables looked dirty, and the whole place looked untidy. But the steam table counter looked beautiful. It was loaded with hot food and each tray seemed to be full. Two ladies and one young man were serving. The young man did a good job taking and serving orders. I decide to get the Combo B for $9.45. - fried rice/ chow mein + 2 entrees I got fried rice, black bean spare ribs, chicken w/ string beans in gravy. How was it? No flavor! I don't use the word "bland" very often. Geez, I didn't know there was a shortage of soy sauce, sesame oil and salt & pepper. Maybe chili oil will help. Would I come back? No thanks

I take all of my pictures with my phone, but I generally write my reviews on my laptop where I have a full keyboard to work with. The first two visits, my wife went in while I waited outside with the dog. This time, I was travelling solo. I had been out and about and decided to pick up some grub for dinner. Our first visit, we got some Chicken Wings and absolutely loved them. Our second visit, we got more Chicken Wings, but we couldn't remember which ones we had gotten the first time. We didn't enjoy them quite the same at the first time. To resolved the issue, this time I ordered two different types of Chicken Wings. Did we solve the problem? Maybe? Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (4) - While the wings were excellent, we felt that overall, the dish was too salty. Deep Fried Chicken Wings (5) - Once again, excellent wings. Without the add-on Salt, Peppers and Garlic, these were more to our liking, though some Garlic would have been nice. Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce - (5) - I grew up eating fresh fish from live tanks in Chinese Restaurants. They were either cooked with Black Bean Sauce or Ginger & Scallion. Post COVID, many restaurants have done away with their live tanks. Frozen fillets will never taste or feel like freshly dispatched fish, but these were pretty decent. Assorted Seafood Chow Fun (5) - Fish, Calamari and Shrimp. Used to be a time where you could expect a scallop or two, but those days are mostly gone. While this restaurant used to have dine-in service, it appears to be take-out only now. Service was relatively fast and efficient. The food is solid. We'll definitely be back.
