A good test for Chinese food is how it reheats the next day. Okay, it matters the day you're actually eating it too... but if it reheats well the next day, the restaurant is a keeper. Dragon Palace is one of those locations where I can vouch for the beef chow fun on Day 1 AND Day 2. The interior of the restaurant seems fairly new, on trend and clean. The staff is very attentive and very apologetic when I received a fortune cookie with one word- Stupidity. (This really did happen.) So go for the good food, or go to see if you can get a slightly insulting fortune cookie (which probably is a business model in itself). Anyways, just go. It's a worthwhile restaurant. read more

Dragon palace is located next to Gansett Wraps where Providence Coal Fired Pizza used to be. Plenty of parking. Inside has an awkward lay out. As soon as you come in through the doors and through the man trap - you're right smack at the host desk which also functions as the ordering desk/take out/pick up area. People coming in and out of the restaurant have to squeeze through this tight area. There's 2 or 3 stools to sit on but other than that there is no waiting area or seating section. Straight ahead of there is the bar area. Dining area to the left (front of the building). To the right of the host desk is the sushi bar. Came in for Mother's Day dinner. Very surprised that there was plenty of seating. They were very slammed with take out orders though. Entrées came with very large portions. Our server, Bob, was awesome. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Came by often to refill drinks and to check up on us. Sushi had nice presentation and the rolls were nice and tightly assembled. We've dined at the Wyoming location many times and I'm glad that there's a new one right in town. Side note. One of my all time favorite Chinese take out dishes is the chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce. Not many places around here will serve it with the eggplant. But here does. And they make it very well. Hits the spot!! Also their crab Rangoons are folded in a large wonton shape and I feel as though you get about twice the amount of the cream cheese filling than most other places. Drinks were ordered ahead of time by my bf. Hot tea was actually cold. We made our dinner orders and I let her know that the hot tea was in fact cold. I asked for a set of chopsticks for my yellowtail app as well. Ten minutes go by and my bf goes to grab chopsticks as the yellowtail was raw and I don't use forks (not that there were any at the table either way). I start eating the app and another 10/15 minutes go by and the hot tea still hasn't come. It's his birthday and we hadn't really planned on being out so long so I walked up to ask them to pack the food as it hadn't come yet. I get to the register and ask for everything to be bagged up. Zoe or Chloe says fine. Another 10 minutes go by and I catch our food come out with the blonde waitress and our waitress tells her "to delivery it anyway" and I caught it. I told the blonde waitress to bring my food right back to the kitchen and have it packed up as I asked 10 minutes prior of our waitress. Our waitress, behind the sushi counter starts laughing as if she hasn't done anything wrong and begins to talk about me. At the end of the day, she lost out on a $25 tip, the restaurant lost our 4 times a month take out orders and all because she couldn't be bothered to pay attention. read more

I ordered a General Tso with white rice. I asked so to make sure that it came with steamed broccoli. Look at the pictures. You be the judge. Looked and tasted like sweet and sour chicken with heavily seasoned pork fried rice. Not a mistake with the order. It had my egg roll substitution. I seemed like a slow evening for a Tuesday too. I never saw brown duck sauce before. I hope that I never do again. I was very disappointed since the restaurant has nice curb appeal and decent reviews. It really was mediocre at best. My hunger did not make it taste any better. I regret spending my calories on dinner there. This will be my first and last time there. read more

Best wonton soup I've ever had. Lunch specials are huge. Everything I have tried is delicious. Waitstaff is friendly and helpful. My favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Lots of Japanese options too- and the sushi, seaweed salad, miso soup have all had rave reviews from sushi loving friends we have brought there. Food was great. Came out hot, tofu so hot I had to sip my beer and water with every bite... General Tso sauce was good, not spicy not too sweet. Shrimp excellent! Brown Rice with pork was very good, much nicer than the white rice everyplace else gives you!! 5 stars just for that at no extra cost! Service was great. We went 30'mins before close and they still let us sit and eat. No rushing either. Jason our waiter was fantastic, great kid.. Ask for him when you go in. Parking easy, bathroom clean. Had 3 dishes...beef chow fun, scallops with broccoli and crispy pork chop. Beef chow fun was on point, the scallops were slightly overcooked and the pork needed to be crispier, slightly more saltier and besides peppers add ginger, green onion and garlic would have given it a taste "punch" Definitely would come back. So i went there when they 1st opened a couple years ago. Wasnt impressed but edible. Their lunch menu is cheap so i got it often ( at least 1-2xs per week for the 1st year. It was ok. The staff is always very nice and the place looks nice / clean....however in the past year esp the past 6 months the food has gone so far down hill. I ordered lunch again this afternoon and have been feeling sick to my stomach again for the umpteenth time. Like a cheap sucker i keep/ kept going back but this is the final time. I can't believe how awful the food was here...such as odd experience! Our server was very nice, very friendly. Although I did feel a bit rushed to place my order. The miso soup-was loaded with seaweed, and unbearably fishy tasting. I ordered an eel roll, which was supposed to have avocado in it. It was just eel! The spicy tuna roll was fine. They did not look particularly appealing. My boyfriend ordered pepper steak which came with fried rice. The peppers were cut into crude, huge chunks, and the fried rice was the strangest tasting and strangest looking fried rice I've ever seen/tasted. It had no flavor and was the color of espresso coffee. The restaurant had such a strange dreary vibe to it. I would never go back. read more

Have always gone to Dragon Palace in Hope Valley and Coventry and never tried the Westerly location and always go to both. Never disappoint. Well, was in the Westerly area for weekend and saw this location and had to stop. We'll, they didn't disappoint. Had dinner at the bar and Bob was outstanding; he was friendly, professional, welcoming and provided great service. Never had a bad meal at Dragon and got my mostly usual Singapore Mei Fun which was also great at this location. read more

I'm a big fan of the Dragon Palace in Hope Valley so I was really excited to hear this place was coming to Westerly. It's good, but not as good as the Hope Valley location. The shrimp with veggies were good but the chicken and pork dishes were very dry. The rice was not great. The crab Rangoon were very good! read more

Pretty great food and consistent with the other locations! I had the sesame chicken dinner combination with chicken fried rice and crab Rangoon. The service was a little slow, because of how busy they were, but the food was very good and the portions are worth the price you pay. Decor is modern and welcoming too. We visited the Dragon Palace last night for dinner. We were a little concerned because the restaurant of the same name located in Wakefield is horrible. This is certainly not the case with the Dragon Palace in Westerly. A little background. We arrived at 5:15 unfortunately just behind a group of 20 that showed up without a reservation so service was a little slow. The waitstaff made a heroic attempt to keep things moving and, in fact, they did a great job. I ordered a Stoli Martini and the bride (of 51 years) had some Sake. Despite the crowd both arrived on time and were excellent. For appetizers we had steamed dumplings and a sushi roll. The 6 dumplings were huge and perfectly cooked. We could only eat 4 but that is Ok because there is always tomorrow. The sushi roll was also huge. 12 pieces instead of the usual 6 or 8. It was great. For dinner I had the General Tso's chicken extra spicy. It came with brown rice and crab Rangoon. I have ordered this dish at every Asian restaurant within 30 miles of here and this was by far the best. Large chunks of chicken with a crunchy outside and perfectly cooked inside. Possibly the best I have had anywhere. The bride had chicken with eggplant and spicy garlic sauce. Again, excellent and huge portions. Kudos to both the wait staff ( 2 ladies) and the kitchen staff for handling such a large unexpected in flux. We will be back weekly until we return to Florida in the fall. read more

The first weekend of opening we ordered pu pu for two, general tso chicken and house fried rice all was cold probably from being second day of opening and very busy. All was very good but egg rolls where very greasy. We decided to give them another chance today Nov. 30 2022 and ordered luncheon meals. I wanted to try my favorite dish sweet & sour chicken. The sour sauce was on the side which gave me a chance to look at chicken closely and saw that it was extremely greasy. I squeezed one piece of chicken and you wouldn't believe how much grease came out, and was not able to eat it at all. My wife got the chicken and garlic sauce with fried rice and was suppose to be spicy but wasn't at all. The Fred rice for both was very good though. If you are handicapped, the entrance is difficult. High curb at door flanked by steep inclines down each side and no railings or support. Food was not so good. Hot and sour soup was ????. No flavor. Crab rangoon was filled with sweetened cream cheese and no trace of crab. Fried rice was best but dry. Even the crisp noodles were too sweet. Service was good. read more

I was always a huge fan of Dragon Palace in Hope Valley and I am so pleased that there is a location now open closer to home! The sushi is some of the best grade I have had and for the price you cannot beat it! The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
