We came on a Wednesday morning on our way into Portland. It was much classier and much more spacious than we expected! The space was beautiful and clean. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Menu is full of so many options!!! I opted for the avocado toast and added an egg. My boyfriend got the salmon & eggs Benedict. Avocado toast + egg - it was okay. The avocado was much more smashed than I desired. Chunkier could give it more texture. It could've used a bit more flavor as well. salmon and eggs Benedict - it was great! My boyfriend said it was very flavorful and very well done! He would definitely get again! We sat outside and it was a beautiful day! We will definitely come back next time we road trip to Portland!

Wow. What a breakfast. And the staff and environment is equally great. Make this a stop for sure.

Brand new space outside of downtown Belfast. White tile, huge windows, plenty of space and parking. Staff really trying hard. Checked on us often though not table service. Burger and 2x sandwiches were both great. Russian tea.cake was a little large and dry. Mint chip milk shake was great. Clean bathrooms.

    Time to eat... ;)

Hash in the Pan Locally-owned breakfast spot that's been in operation since 1994. It's gone thru multiple iterations over the years, as it started out as pastry and Italian soda joint, to now being a full-service breakfast and lunch spot. They also just recently moved down the street into these larger, more open digs. The Good: *Order at the counter and they bring it out to you. *Self-serve brewed coffee *Friendly service *Large private lot *Iced Mocha was tasty and had good flavor without being overly sweet. *Croissants are a carb option with your breakfast! No upcharge *Be sure to ask for the homemade jam *First time trying Red Flannel Hash, which evidently is a Maine staple. Essentially it is corned beef hash but with cooked beets and it was really tasty. The earthy sweetness of beets married well to the salty, beefy hash and when combined with the vevety runny egg yolks it made for a hearty and tasty breakfast. The Meh: *Menu is huge, which I'm not a fan of, but if you like variety they've got you covered. Conclusion: Nice spot for a hearty meal and a friendly smile while visiting Belfast.

As we headed out to take in Acadia National Park, we searched for a nearby coffee shop to grab some well-made coffee. We found it nearby in Belfast. A uniquely named restaurant - Bell the Cat. We were greeted promptly by the owner, a delightful gentleman that was ready to seat us immediately. When we explained we were just here for takeout coffee, he escorted us to a second main counter where they were doing a bustling takeout business. We grabbed two coffees as multiple people came in to grab their breakfast pastries and food to go. The coffee was very good - hot, bold, and flavorful. It made the drive to Acadia so much easier. Give this place a try, it's delightful.

Wow, today's. breakfast was truly amazing! One of the best lattes I've ever had. the coffee itself was bold but not bitter and the foam was thick and rich and lasted the entire drink. We had the chicken and waffle that was perfect and could have fed two. The chicken was so tender for a fried item and the waffle was light and airy. The red flannel hash was perfect! Lots of tender corned beef and just the right amount of the delicious beet slaw. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and even the toast was awesome. One of the best breakfasts I've had out in years!

Bell the Cat is counter-table service style restaurant. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I had the blueberry French toast and enjoyed the uniqueness of it. There's an entire bar of coffee varieties to choose from and other coffee drinks available. Great stop for a quick and easy breakfast.

Red flannel hash, with scrambled eggs and gluten free toast!

Stopped by Bell the Cat for breakfast while on vacation! Had the red flannel hash which I had never heard of. Gluten free toast was available to substitute for regular bread. Large chunks of corned beef, with potatoes, beet slaw, 2 eggs and toast! Generous portions and very yummy! Service was at the counter and food brought to the table. Cafe was clean and modern. I would be happy to go back!

Really good soup and a decent sandwich. Thought it was a little pricey for deli meat but overall a good restaurant.

There sandwiches are alright but it takes them a hundred years to make them. If your not planning on spending the day here, avoid it.

Reasonably priced, small breakfast menu. Not a ton to offer in terms of pastries, but everything looked great. A freezer stocked with homemade dinner pies; Adorable Maine-centric gifts and art; An interesting collection of wines for sale... I believe it was the proprietor, who was the sole person behind the counter when we went. He was very friendly. Temper your expectations, because it is not a big French bakery, or an artisan bread or full diner breakfast kind of place. But it is quirky, satisfying, and does what it does really well.

We enjoyed the margaritas which were fruity, flavorful and refreshing . For dessert, we shared the chocolate Babka . Don't tell my Bubbie that it was even better than hers. We were turned away because we did not have a reservation, despite seeing that many tables were empty throughout the restaurant. As we looked around, numerous guests were already seated and being served food, which made the situation even more confusing. What made the experience worse was the way it was handled. The staff member we spoke with was rude and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome rather than valued as potential customers. We completely understand that restaurants can have policies regarding reservations, especially on busy holidays, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate that to guests. We were looking forward to celebrating Father's Day together, and instead we left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The poor customer service left a bad taste in our mouths and unfortunately overshadowed what should have been a special family occasion.

The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!
