I thought it's about time I update my review.. it's been years and have actually avoided ordering here because I hate the "Slice App" so much and never was compensated by them. However, my mom lives across the street and we wanted pizza when out of town relatives visited. We ordered a pepperoni, cheese, everything, and a GF with veggies. The pizza crust is always light and airy and toppings were fresh. I wanted to try to cauliflower crust instead of the GF option, but got frustrated doing so on the Slice app again... so it's fine, the GF crust here is very good.. it's actually a little chewy instead of a hard burnt crust like most places. I won't ding the pizza joint for my hatred of the app and lack of support from them as I know they will take over the phone orders. I made my order after hours to pick up the next day, so was stuck with the app... but do look forward to trying the cauliflower crust another time when I can call the order in. Definitely recommend if you like a thin (not super thin) with a slight crunch and little bit of "chewiness" with lots of fresh toppings. Unfortunately this was the worst pizza I have ever had. Ever. I cant believe this place is in business. They need to fire the cook. My wife and I have lived in the area for 6 years and have always been going to more well known pizza spots and boy are we upset that we hadn't been going here earlier! Great thin pizza, no flop, solid toppings ratio, and good price! Toppings nearly to the edge and a great crispy crust. Owner is nice and understanding. Came here for the first time tonight to pick up two pizzas and I am so happy to find this place! A local hidden gem! Love the style of pizza. The dough and crust were exactly what I was hoping for. Tasted fresh, not processed, and had a great crunch / toast to it. Ingredients tasted fresh. Price was reasonable. I got a Quattro cheese pizza and also a pepperoni with jalapeños. It came out piping hot and fresh from the oven which I love to see. The service was really good as well. I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant and saw everyone working so hard. I don't have history of them and asked if they had thin crust, and the owner shared they are NY style so it is thin. I wish I tried before vs. the normal chains. price seems comparable even with coupons to surrounding other pizzerias. I did come in, order and wait vs. other negative comments that seem to be more around having them delivered. Nothing burnt that I can tell and if any, maybe it could use just a tad more time for a crispier crust (only for me). Ordered food from Bella Roma for the first time via delivery service and all I can say is it was OK. A bit disappointed in the lasagne as it was burnt with a burn flavor to it. I see from another reviewer they had the same problem with their lasagne. The vegetarian calzone was not what I had pictured it to be. It was all chopped up when I opened the box, it looked more like a thick pizza then a true calzone. Garlic bread was actually garlic cheese bread but on the menus it just lists "garlic bread" in the menu. Salads were pretty good and looked fresh. I had a good feeling about this place. I'm not sure why, but I picked it somewhat at random, and asked for my buddy to confirm with my choice. When we arrived, it was amusing as navigation had taken us around the whole shopping center, and I had to drive halfway back across the shopping center. It's pretty much across from the Nob Hill grocery store. Going inside, it looked small but accessible. There wasn't someone at the register. I saw someone preparing a pizza and she yelled "sorry" and I didn't know what to think. We took a look at the menu board. There was no sign of the pizza slices we'd seen in photos on Yelp but there was an 8 inch pizza option, along with 12, 18, and 20 inch pizzas. I really didn't see everything because there was so much. It was a very long wait, but after another "sorry", she eventually got everything into the oven, and came forward. I ordered a Meat Lovers Pizza in an 8 inch and a combo of the same size, and she mentioned that it would be much less expensive to order slices. It was something like $8.99 for each 8 inch and it ended up being $5.00 each for each slices, so there was a big savings because of her suggestion. I asked for the restroom, and she told me that it was all the way to the back. It was clean. When I returned, I mentioned the surprise of seeing real pizza ovens, instead of those conveyor belt ovens that are so popular now. We had a quick chat as she was preparing food. As my buddy and I were watching a rugby match between England and Ireland, we passed the time, and other employees arrived. Thankfully, they were able to get food to the other people just after that. I mentioned that it reminded me of a place in Upper Darby, PA in the 69th Street shopping district and that brought back some good memories. It didn't take too much longer for our slices. They were likely bigger than 8 inch pizzas in surface area, based on slices from a 20 inch pizza. My first bite of the combo slice made me think that they needed to clean the oven better--part of the reason conveyor belt ovens are popular because pizza dust doesn't accumulate easily. The taste of the pizza was great. I think it's probably the best sit-down place I've been for pizza in all of California. My buddy enjoyed his and we talked about it quite a bit after we left the place. He even got his ranch sauce for dipping. I'm quite happy to find a place that isn't a chain restaurant or a fancy-schmancy place serving only whole wheat crust with cauliflower and broccoli pizza. I hope that every time I visit it's this good. Update 2015.04.16: I tried the lasagna today. For $9.99, you get a decent sized portion of lasagna with two pieces of crusty bread. With the drink, I was almost at $13.00, which is probably too much. Lasagna costs a lot to make. This portion had meat and cheese and noodles, of course. The gravy/sauce (Italian families back east say gravy) was not full of oregano and garlic. It was a plain sauce that seemed a bit too sweet. I like to make mine a little more like Arabbiata, you know, with peppers. However, if I make lasagna, I have enough for 6-10 people. It was better than Stouffer's and likely better than what Olive Garden is selling now. I wanted to love it, but I don't. read more

Wow, reviews for Bella Roma are all over the place! The other day I called in an order for pick up of a Chicken Alfredo pizza. The pizza was done in lightning speed and the employees were extremely friendly and funny. Also, the interior of the restaurant was actually cuter than I thought it would be. Sometimes that part of the shopping center can be a bit sketchy (I'm looking at you, check cashing place and liquor store). I brought the pizza home and, when I opened the box, it smelled so delicious. It's definitely closer to thin crust than thick and had a nice chew to it. I really enjoyed the flavors. Order over the phone from Bella Roma for the first time tonight. After reading all the reviews I wanted to try what appeared to be a long time favorite. We ordered a cauliflower pizza with pepperoni and a garden salad. Pretty safe first order as cauliflower pizza when you can get it is our favorite. Well Matteo had the pizza ready on the 30 minute window he gave us. Considerably larger than the frozen type and it had nice portions of meat. It was definitely delicious and considering the cost of frozen ones Matteo priced it right at @$20. The garden salad was colorful, fresh and enough for 3 large servings.
