But, while you're in the area, you need to eat. We were looking for Italian, and the Yelp reviews led us here. It's a small not-a-chain Italian restaurant. The ambiance isn't why you go, it's the great food! I say that because there are only 3 tables inside that can seat 4 or 5 people maximum. And it's not fancy looking. But the pizza was excellent. My adult daughter declared it was the best pizza she'd had in a couple of decades. And she's a picky eater. We all enjoyed the pizza. A especially nice touch is that they have a bulletin board where people have pre-paid for meals for people who can't afford to eat. If you are in that situation, you walk in, choose a receipt, and take it to the counter to get your free meal. It obviously hadn't been abused, as there were at least a dozen pre-paid receipts there. We really liked that community service aspect. But the only reason I'm writing this review (after the fact; sorry I didn't get photos) is that the pizza was great and the cost was also great. We highly recommend them!

At first bite, I realize the thinness of the crust which I like. As for the sauce, it must have been a very thin layer because I couldn't really taste it. The sausage has very little spice to it to resemble an Italian sausage. This was disappointing, as was the lack of sauce. Overall, the pizza was good, but I don't think it will make my top 10.

Slammed by 11:30AM Monday…read more Lots of restaurants are closed on Monday; Not Jimmy's. This fine small neighborhood restaurant offers great food to a dedicated audience. Kudos to Server and Chefs. Our long-time server may deserve the Best in Dayton award. She navigates tables and orders with great ease. Jimmy's does an great take-out order, and this is compounded with a full lunch time service. Lots of pizzas and takeout to go, and somehow orders come out in +/_ 20 minutes. Highly recommend, but Not on Mondays.
