Belle Epoque is exactly what the South Bay needed! An amazing restaurant/supper club with fantastic live music, delicious food and incredible cocktails. Over the past few months I have gone here for late night drinks with live music, Sunday funday brunch and Tuesday night comedy night. The food is consistently excellent and the drinks are well crafted. Every single musical act has been terrific. The shows are usually Thursday- Saturday and it's a $10 fee if you stay for entertainment... but it's well worth it every time! The service is always great and the ambiance is gorgeous. Super excited that this place opened in redondo village and can't wait to go back here regularly!!

We went into it for a drink after having dinner next door, as we heard the karaoke fun passing by. There are only around 10pax inside but the vibe is so fun, very welcoming, owner and staff are all very friendly and nice! We were invited to sing a few songs to join the party and then more customers coming in joining together. We really had a good time in this cozy place, need not the best equipment or big crowd, but some genuine hearts are more than enough. *and no way when I saw one of the previous review saying it'll close in a few months time?

The Black Rose cocktail was an absolute blast! It was a super fun bourbon drink with a beautiful presentation. I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for something tasteful and refreshing.

My wife and I had a great time dining at Belle Epoque recently. We arrived right when they opened and got great service. All three of the cocktails we tried were good, and all in well-apportioned and interesting glasses The French onion soup was great. The steak and the linguini with clams were also winners. We did not get to see any live music this time -- but we will definitely be back!

This new gem located in Redondo Beach is amazing. The ambiance is great with incredible decor. If you're looking for date night, happy hour, Sunday Funday, and live music this is your place. I can't stress this enough PLEASE check out their bathrooms, all I can say is you won't be disappointed. Parking: Its plenty of parking across the street in the parking lot and it's also street parking available Service: The customer service is amazing everyone was friendly and all the servers always filled our glasses with water and asked if we wanted more wine. Food: Don't worry they will have food soon as this place is fairly new, The kitchen will offer meals while enjoying your time. Got a chance to meet all the owners and they were so welcoming and friendly. Please come out to support this amazing new spot in Redondo. The bartender is amazing and the drinks are yummy. If you're a local in Redondo or if you're visiting the area check out this spot. They have live music on Friday & Saturday with amazing artists. Also, brunch on Sunday Funday with a DJ and upcoming comedy shows during the week on Tuesday . Overall I highly recommend trying this place out.

Such a great experience. The live music is amazing and always different. Really enjoyed the lavash with mozzarella and the shrimp ceviche . My favorite place in Redondo Beach. Warm and friendly service. Check out their schedule and make it a night to remember.

Recently there was a comedy show at Belle Epoque that had a food tasting at the start of the night and a comedy show at the end, the food was amazing and the comedians were hilarious. Was a great night!

If you are looking for a restaurant with a large menu, you will be disappointed. Sure, portions of La La Land were filmed here, and they have some movie memorabilia in the back of the place but they offer far more than jazz here, if that is your impression. There is rock, reggae, salsa, lots of tribute bands, and other stuff. While this may have once been purely a jazz club, I am certain the market simply won't carry (most) strictly jazz places for very long. Based on one photo I saw on the wall, this place has been around for about 76 years. That is impressive. For jazz aficionados, they offer a three hour Sunday jazz brunch (and this is the only time when folks under 21 can enter, by the way). For brunch, there are only four food items available on the menu: a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, one pancake (singular, not plural) and bacon, sausage, and eggs. Remember, you are here for the music, not the food. As for the food, my breakfast burrito was interesting. Knowing restaurants in California, it was probably cooked by a Latino gentleman but this looked like th emost Caucasian burrito of all time. It had chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and other stuff in it, and the tortilla had a nice cheesy skirt on it. It was also on the spicier side, which I enjoyed, but fair warning. I wasn't sure I was going to like it by its looks but I ate the whole thing. It was also a belly bomb and kept me satisfied for about 6 or 7 hours afterward. The avocado toast was actually very good and made with good quality bread. I thought the music was excellent. The members of the band (the John Kithcart Quartert) played their assess off and really seemed to enjoy themselves. True jazz (not that soft elevator music gunk) was popular at one time but let's face it, it is not popular anymore. Jazz certainly can be enjoyed as background music while you enjoy your one pancake but it is certainly not intended to be enjoyed that way. To fully appreciate it, you have to pay attention to it. That doesn't seem too much of an ask. After all, it is the folks on the stage who are doing the hard work. Our server was very good. She was friendly and attentive. My only experience here is with the Sunday jazz brunch so I cannot speak for the venue at any other times. At least for the Sunday brunch, whether you like jazz or not, this place is well worth a try.

We ordered a half seafood and half meat paella, with added lobster and pork belly. Unfortunately, the actual food was terrible. Main issues: * The bottom of the seafood side was completely black and burnt instead of having a crispy socarrat. There's a huge difference between crispy rice and burnt rice. * The lobster was severely overcooked, burnt, and tasted terrible. * The pork belly was an extra charge, but there was barely any visible pork belly in the dish. It honestly just looked like tiny bacon pieces. * All of the meat throughout the paella was severely overcooked. Positives: * Our waiter was very nice. * The ambiance was good. * The live music added a fun vibe. * It was my birthday, so they gave me a complimentary ice cream dessert at the end, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, none of that made up for how bad the paella itself was.

We visited on a weekday at 5pm and took advantage of their great happy hour, which runs all night on Monday and Tuesday, and from 3pm to 6pm Wednesday through Friday. Happy hour includes quite a few food specials, and $2 off tiki cocktails. They also have a tiki marketplace in the parking lot on the first Saturday of every month. We sat at the bar since we enjoy talking to the bartenders. Other seating options include a dining area in front with high top tables, and tiki hut booths behind the bar. The booth cushions are pretty beat up. They also have an open air patio out back with a lot of tables. There is another dining room between the patio and the front of the house that has minimal décor and mainly has murals on the walls. The overall tiki décor is somewhere between ok and good. The atmosphere feels like a neighborhood tiki bar with dive bar undertones. We started out with a few appetizers. The veggie egg rolls ($6 during happy hour) were good, and the sauce had a slight heat. We also had the shishito peppers ($8) which were a generous portion and had a very good unami sauce on them. I started out with the Fluffy Banana cocktail (White Rum, Cinnamon, Lemon, Coconut, Banana Liqueur, Bitters, $13 minus $2 happy hour discount). It had a great foam top rising above the edge of the glass. It was balanced with a light to medium sweetness, with coconut up front and banana underneath. She started out with the Bye Bye Ladies (Pineapple, Coconut Cream, Lemon, Tito's Vodka, Trader Vic's Macadamia Nut Liqueur, Shaved Macadamia Nut, $14 minus $2 happy hour discount). This was balanced, but on the much sweeter side with coconut and pineapple up front, with a little macadamia in the background. We ordered more food, and I had the Bamboo Classic Burger ($10 during happy hour). This was a solid tasty burger, and came with a healthy portion of french fries. She had the BBQ pulled jackfruit sandwich ($18). It is nice that they have some vegetarian options on the menu, and she enjoyed it. The Shoyu BBQ sauce had a little spiciness, and the coconut chili slaw definitely had some heat. Next, I had the Fire Walker (Del Maguey Mezcal, Lime, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Falernum, Habanero Bitters, $14 minus $2 happy hour discount). The mezcal was a little bolder than I usually like, but it was good with light passion fruit flavor, and a nice kick from the habanero bitters. Her second drink was the Monkey Pod (Ron Del Barrilto Rum, Lime, Tamarind, Coconut, $13 minus $2 happy hour discount). It was balanced with tamarind and lime up front with coconut in the background. We had one last round and I got the Dr. Bamboo (Dr. Bird Jamaican Rum, 151 Rum, All-Spice, Prickly Pear, Cinnamon, $16). This one was my favorite. It is a little boozy, but balanced and lush with good allspice and pear flavor. It also feels like a generous pour. Her last cocktail was the Jungle Bird (Caruba Dark Jamaican Rum, Lime, Pineapple, Coconut Washed Campari, $14 minus $2 happy hour discount). This was also very good, and their version isn't as bitter as most. Our bartender Steph was awesome. He was very friendly, had great knowledge of the cocktail menu, and provided great service. He even let us try a little sample of one of his drink concoctions he was working on. Our evening here during happy hour was an absolute bargain. We had two appetizers, two entrees, and six cocktails, and the bill was just a bit over $100. One negative is that the men's room behind the bar is kind of gross and feels very inconsistent with the rest of the bar. It's very punk with stickers all over and it stinks. The bottom line is that the food and drinks are pretty good, and they're an excellent value during happy hour. Service was great, and the atmosphere is ok. We would definitely return during happy hour.

I personally really like it. Around 10/11pm is when the music started getting really good. Like…read more2000s to Kpop (limited) and even a random Dandadan. The dance floor is small. The over all interior seems small but I was always able to find somewhere to go to breathe and such. They had lots of bouncer so I felt on the safer side. The bathrooms are also have people taking care of them. It was a really fun night out and ended up staying there till closing time.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Mama Lion…read more While waiting in line, a bouncer pulled me aside because I was wearing hakama-style pleated pants and asked if I was "wearing a skirt." He then claimed my outfit was "too casual." The problem is that there were multiple people in line wearing basic t-shirts and blue jeans who were not stopped or questioned at all. So it became very difficult not to feel like the issue wasn't actually about dress code consistency, but discomfort with gender nonconformity or clothing that didn't fit their expectations of masculinity. I'm not trans-presenting , I'm just simply comfortable wearing fashion that plays with silhouette and gender expression. My outfit was intentional, styled, and frankly far more put together than a lot of what was being let in. But Im not here to say that my fashion is better, it's just different. What made the situation worse was that the same bouncer could not clearly explain why my outfit was supposedly "too casual." Even another bouncer, after hearing my situation, commented that the situation felt strange. Eventually, my friends inside heard and came out, and threatened to leave over how I was being treated. A venue manager, likely someone who monitors the ratio of men to women (which is a whole other issue), allowed me back into line after hearing that a whole table of women would leave. But by then, the damage was already done. What disappointed me most is that KTown is home to me. I wasn't even angry at first. Just mostly shocked that something this small and arbitrary could become an issue at all. And while I'm not claiming Mama Lion as a business officially endorses transphobia or discrimination, I am saying that this was my experience with employees representing the venue, and it reflected a level of casual bias that left a bad taste in my mouth. If you enjoy Mama Lion, genuinely, keep going and have fun. But if you're someone who expresses yourself outside traditional gender presentation , especially if you're masculine-presenting while wearing more experimental or androgynous fashion , just understand that being singled out there is apparently not impossible. Good luck! As someone who's been around the scene, know that this place isnt for dancing, its a Chic place that looks cool and serves drinks, thats p much it.
