What an amazing experience. One of the girls I was with told us about this cute little place by the Trani family that serve a limited breakfast in the most gorgeous building ever. We started off with the most amazing customer service by Calethea (I'm sorry if I spelled her name wrong) and Deja - they were both so nice and really went above and beyond to make our little breakfast burritos and lattes perfect! Speaking of lattes, we had the orange blossom latte, and it was probably one of the best lattes I've ever had in my life. I can see myself craving this. Calethea also went out of her way to take some pictures for us - she did awesome because she's a photographer so take advantage of that if you can because she's very friendly and great at what she does. The breakfast burritos were great and huge. We could only eat half. The real highlight of my day was going out by the pool and meeting Ash and Maeve, who were probably the friendliest people I've ever met and were kind enough to give us a little tour of the building, which was amazing! It's turning 100 next month and it has such amazing charm and history! I am so glad they were out by the pool because they made this day extra special! To start this off, I don't want to leave a bad review with negativity in mind. I would like to leave this review to hopefully aid in making a better experience for next time. I went to lunch at the Majestic on a Thursday around 12:00. The hostess/waitress was very kind, and maybe a little nervous (which is totally okay!) and accommodated us by letting us sit in the main dining room instead of the normal cafe area. Super appreciate that!! Unfortunately the food was not the greatest when we went. I got the crispy chicken wrap and while the spicy ranch was delicious, the wrap itself felt very bland. It only had chicken, a mountain of lettuce, and the spicy ranch. Adding in some cheese or even other veggies like tomato would definitely help. My aunt got the Majestic Salad with grilled chicken and said the quality of the chicken was not very good and could not eat it. We also ordered a side of the garlic and herb fries. The fries were great! Our server was taking her leave for the day and my family felt rushed because she did not ask if we wanted anything else and seemed to want us to pay before she left. I don't think this was done to be rude, but maybe she is on the newer side and needs a little more time or training. Again, not saying this to be harsh! She was a very kind person. Overall it wasn't the best lunch experience and part of me wishes I just had a latte and a quick bite. The dine in lunch menu doesn't seem up to par yet. One other thing I want to mention is that the signage is very limited and we had a hard time finding it at first. If we tried to go for the first time at night, I am not sure we would have been able to find it. Street parking was also really tough to find at 11:45am. I believe their website says they do valet but that may only be for dinner service. I will definitely have to come back for a dinner service because the main dining hall is beautiful. This review is for the coffee bar that opens at 8:00am. We were greeted and taken care of by Calethia. She was great. Asking how we wanted our coffee from sweetness level and what type of milk. I don't often think of sweetness level or what type of milk I put in my coffee. Great for people that like a stronger tasting coffee. I feel so blessed getting to be within walking distance of so many coffee shops. Today's shop is the Majestic, a but hard to find but they have an A-sign at the entrance! Inside is a beautiful bar setting with such a well decorated space, comfy seating for both bar and tables, and incredibly welcoming staff. The girl who helped me was so kind, went over absolutely everything with me on the menu. I ended getting a Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk, it's very good! Nothing special but if I was ever in a pinch I would be happy coming back. read more

Came here with friends to have a drink. To my surprise, they do not have hard liquor or mixed drinks. Wine only. Disappointing. The Wine selection is limited, to be fair this restaurant has been open for only a few months now. Maybe in the future. The wine we ordered was good. We sat at the bar area and ordered a glass of wine and some appetizers. The bar area is missing something, It's not inviting, it's missing something to give it a lively appearance. We ordered from the menu Focaccia Bread was good, Bay Scallops were good, Fried Calamari was very good and so was my Fish. Overall the food is just as good, even with a limited menu it was as good as their Dockside Restaurant. Hoping it gets better. We all enjoyed the appetizers and drinks. We started off with the focaccia bread, which I thought was excellent. The Caesar salad was extremely well done, and my entrée was the gnocchi plate with a little bit of spicy marinara sauce. I thought it was great! The negatives were probably the fact that they do not have a liquor license except for beer and wine and the very slow service. Also the safety factor we felt in the neighborhood when we left the restaurant to walk to our car was not good. Homeless guy with a shopping cart walking towards us as we left the restaurant. We went to The Majestic last night for a family night out and had a really nice time. This was my first return since the grand opening. The atmosphere is completely different from its affiliated spots, J. Trani's and Dockside, which I actually think is a great thing if you're looking for something a little more unique. It has more of a classic "supper club" vibe, meaning you get dinner paired with live entertainment. From what I understand, that's currently happening on Friday nights, with an exception for the first Thursday of each month. Service was on point all night. Big kudos to Chelsea N, who handled our table seamlessly; attentive, friendly, and always right there when needed. We ordered a good spread for the table: Bay scallops - tender, fresh, and nicely prepared (LOVED) Meatballs - good flavor, but I wish they were served hotter Sausage & mushroom pizza - great combination with a solid crust Crispy mortadella pizza - a standout, with crispy texture and a drizzle of hot honey that brought a perfect sweet-and-spicy balance Rigatoni - hearty and well-executed Linguine - clean, classic, and satisfying Fettuccine - rich and comforting Overall, the food was really strong across the board, a straight 'A' report card. The only small knock was the temperature on the meatballs. The space itself is on the smaller side, which actually works in its favor, it creates a more intimate setting, especially for the entertainment nights. I also liked the detail of the crushed red velvet curtain and microphone being lit by a spotlight throughout the evening, it gave the room a sense of occasion and made the experience feel a little more special. The high vaulted ceilings and fireplace burning candles caught my eyes regarding the architectural aspects. They have valet parking, or you can park on the street. All in all, we had a great night. Good food, great service, and a unique atmosphere made for a memorable family outing. Final thought: If you're in San Pedro and looking to mix up your usual rotation, The Majestic delivers something a little different, in a very good way. Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. We ordered the calamari and focaccia to start. For entrees we had short rib, tuna, scallops and Waldorf salad. Everything was fantastic. I loved the tuna but wish it came with veg or something on the side. For dessert we got cannoli, lemon cake and ice cream. The meal was painfully slow, however. We were there for over 2 hours. It seemed like there was a decent number of workers walking around, but it took a while to flag someone down when we needed something, and took a very long time for food to come out. read more

First off, the atmosphere of this location is beautiful and it transports you into another era. The historical significance of the building itself was great to hear about! Excellent wine selection and cocktails in a beautiful bar area located past the poolside patio, between the dining room and the apartment lobby. I personally like the Espresso Martini with Soju. The dining room has a stage with various performances on Saturday nights, but we attended on a quieter weeknight for my birthday. We had a large group of 12 that they were able to accommodate with a booth by the best view of the harbor. We ordered family style so everything could be shared amongst the group. Everything was deliciously prepared by Chef Dustin and his staff! We started with the Fritto Misto (fried calamari and Mexican shrimp served with sage, hot honey and a squid ink aioli), fresh Yellowfin Crudo (with onion, coconut, Japanese vinegar, herb oil and shiso), Meatballs with a tomato sugo, veal stock, pesto and Parmesan, Flatbreads and pizzas fresh from the pizza oven. Then a refreshing Waldorf Salad before the entrees. If we weren't full already, we enjoyed the Rigatoni with mushroom bolognese, veal stock, Parmesan and fresh basil. We also tried the Prime Ribeye with bacon, charred red onion and demi glaze, paired with roasted purple potatoes and a spicy broccolini on the side. Our last entree was the delicious catch of the day cooked to perfection with flavors I could never replicate on my own. And the mashed potatoes were equally amazing! The dinner was followed by refreshing lemon Italian ice and a giant vanilla cupcake that was so light it was like an angel food cake with fluffy vanilla buttercream frosting. Compliments to Pastry Chef, Amy who makes the desserts and pastries for the continental breakfast served in the mornings. (I can't wait to try out some coffee and pastries in the morning sometime). I should preface this by saying we love all of the J Trani's locations, so we fully expected to enjoy our experience here. They're still very much in the beginning phases of opening--for example, I'm guessing they don't have a full liquor license because their cocktails were sake based. I had the Robert Redford sake-based cocktail and I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! The ambiance itself is gorgeous--the building is stunning, they've done a great job renovating it. Don't miss out on the focaccia with whipped ricotta--it was out of this world. We also had the shrimp appetizer which was really flavorful. My husband had the swordfish which was light and fresh. I had the rigatoni which was also full of flavor. We wish we had room for dessert, but we didn't! I really hope this place takes off, it's such a gem and I'm so grateful I got to experience it tonight. read more

Last night me, my daughter and her bf for 10 years went to eat dinner here. We arrived looking for parking but there was none so we decided to valet park. But the valet was not at his station. We checked into the restaurant to let them know we were here. Came out no valet. But he arrived a short time later. He was working by himself and working hard. We weren't mad. And he was adorable. Anyway. Our reservation was at 6:00 pm. We were seated. The restaurant was virtually empty. Right away we ordered the focaccia. This dish blew our minds. It was so delicious. It came with whipped ricotta and basil infused olive oil. Not gonna lie. The basil infused olive oil had a slight MJ taste. So fun. We then ordered their fresh house made mozzarella in brown butter sauce with teeny tiny tomatoes. OMG!! So good. For entree I ordered the bluefin tuna on toast. To die for. The sauce on the side took it to another level. My daughter ordered the Roma pasta. Again. Mind blowing. My son-in-law ordered the fish of the day which was albacore. Again. Delicious. And the potatoes. Never in my life, and I'm old, have I tasted potatoes this good. Please. How? For dessert we ordered their carrot cake with vanilla ice cream. Exceptional. Service was impeccable. Fortunately there was no entertainment. It didn't need it. During our meal the place filled up. Obviously with Pedro residents. It felt like everybody knew everybody. It felt like home. Walking into The Majestic feels like stepping back in time. The 1920s space sets the tone right away, but the food, the energy, and the crowd pull you firmly into the present. We were there on a Saturday night when they launched a space-themed arts show. Comedians, live musicians, and a music-forward vibe filled the room and made the place come alive. Yes! It IS Majestic! What a cool supper club ambience! The waitstaff were welcoming and the service was spot on. They didn't miss a beat. Our party of three were celebrating a birthday. Went to dinner last night with friends to celebrate an early Christmas together. Valet parking ($10) was convenient and easy. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a friendly host. We were a little early for our party of six, so we headed to the bar. The wine by the glass selection was solid, including a Camus Cabernet at a very reasonable price, which is always appreciated. My wife ordered a specialty drink with help from the bartender, who was cool and knowledgeable. Since there is no liquor license, the cocktail was sake based, but it was well done and thoughtfully put together. We were seated right on time and our waiter was solid from start to finish. The staff overall was attentive and plentiful without being intrusive. We started with the bread, crudo, calamari, and onion rings, everything was excellent. The calamari batter had a subtle sweetness that was a pleasant surprise. The bread was also standout, served with olive oil over a dollop of something creamy, possibly whipped ricotta or mascarpone. Either way, the olive oil was fantastic. Quality EVOO is easy to spot and smell, and this was the real deal. For mains, we ordered the linguini, rigatoni, swordfish, and salads. The salad dressing was great, though not much needs to be said about salad. The linguini was fantastic, made with a squid based red sauce that immediately brought Christmas Eve dinner vibes, deep, savory, and comforting. What really impressed me was the use of toasted breadcrumbs over the pasta, I'm gonna steal that idea on Wednesday night at my mom's for our Christmas even fish dinner. When it hit the table, I initially thought it was grated cheese and for a split second I was ready to flip the table and storm the kitchen. One bite later, I was reassured I was at a true Italian restaurant and all was forgiven. Dustin lives on to cook another day. Or whoever was in the kitchen last night. The rigatoni came with a tomato sauce and a bit of cheese on top, perfectly cooked al dente with great flavor and a solid portion size. The swordfish was classic Trani family style, simple, flawless, and executed perfectly. Dessert sealed the deal. We had the olive oil cake and cannoli and I highly recommend both. The olive oil cake was dense yet moist at the same time and beautifully done. The cannoli shells were dipped in chocolate, not traditional, but it worked extremely well. Overall, I am impressed. Reasonable prices, fantastic food, great atmosphere, valet parking, and that unmistakable Trani hand in the kitchen. Safe to say my friends and I will be regulars here. The crudo was fantastic too. Like a play on sushi with and Italian flair. Onion rings were a huge palate cleanser with a wasabi side sauce. One dip of that sauce and you were cleansed and ready to move on. Haha. A terrific restaurant in a terrific city with outstanding food--but it seems like ownership has a habit of talking down to people. I've personally seen ownership speak down to servers and appear to judge who they choose to serve, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. No matter how good the food is, that kind of behavior takes away from the experience. People deserve to be treated with respect, both staff and guests. Came here for Valentine's Day we had a reservation for 9pm and were so excited because from what we understood we would be getting dinner and a some sort of live entertainment. We arrived early and sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. Once 9pm came we were sat pretty promptly but we were sat at the high tops at the bar. Where there is no entertainment I don't understand why we made a reservation only to be sat at the bar area when I specially requested a standard table. Kinda ruined the mood for our romantic dinner plans. Otherwise a great place wish they had more vegetarian options though. read more

Brought my son here celebrating my birthday! As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a beautiful record player playing Frank Sinatra. We checked in with the hostess and she walked us to our table. We were then greeted by our server Vanessa she walked us through the menu and told us about her favorite items. My son and I ordered the Julius Caesar salad and the bacon mashed potatoe pizza. Both dishes are delicious and perfect for sharing. We ordered the cupcake of the week which was a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and a raspberry sauce on the bottom yum!!! The atmosphere is very warm and has a beautiful fireplace. We had a great dining experience at the Majestic. We started with the scallops which I highly recommend. For dinner we had the NY Steak, Pepperoni Pizza, and Gnocchi. For sides we had the zucchini and fried potatoes. Everything was delicious except for the gnocchi. The taste wasn't very appealing to me and a tad bit doughy. For dessert we had the chocolate cupcake and the kids had ice cream that was very good. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating with three little kids. We'll be back to try more of the pizza options and some entertainment. read more

Great service, beautiful ambiance, and good food. I have been to The Majestic twice, Friday night for dinner and Sunday morning for coffee. Service was excellent on Friday night the team could not have been more attentive. You would never know that the restaurant had been open for just a few days. The menu is limited but the food was excellent, we shared a salad and pizza. Both were delicious and plenty for two to share. We went back on Sunday for coffee after church. Andrew was friendly and the coffee was great. We had no problem parking both days, but you can always valet if you can't find street parking. We are looking forward to seeing the menu options expand and going back again to listen to live music. read more

Getting a bit over-familiar with a few favorite San Pedro restaurants, we thought we'd deliberately look out somewhere new, and having seen some very good reports on Facebook, opted to try the Majestic. We quickly warmed to the ambience of the dining room (quite lofty and spacious) and, coupled with immediately friendly and attentive service, decided we were in for a good experience. Having seen a particularly enthusiastic comment somewhere about the anchovy pizza, I decided to go for that, while my wife chose the Gnocchi: Beef Cheek Ragu. Some pluses and some minuses for both: the pizza had a really crisp, light, flavorful crust, but the anchovies were quite sparse and without the intense, thirst-inducing fishiness that I expected--also it wasn't as hot as it should have been; the ragu was very flavorful but a very small portion--just side-dish sized: really not good value for $30, and this impression of over-priced stinginess was accentuated by there not being any complimentary bread or garnishing, which some other San Pedro restaurants score at. Summary--nothing to fault about the place and the service, while the food was good with the above provisos. We may go back and try something different at the Majestic. read more

The ambience was great, service was OK and the food was delicious but way overpriced- $45 for a pork chop! That's one pork chop with no sides (had some beats on top of it), it was dry and I didn't finish it. The person with me ordered linguine and it was a very small portion. We really enjoyed the original J Trani's and Dockside so our expectations were high and they were not met. I certainly wouldn't go back for a cocktail, had I known it was going to be a sake based I would've just ordered wine. Putting the whole experience together I'd say we will never go back. read more

We were excited to see that there was going to be some type of live entertainment. They had a comedian that was not at all funny but grossly vulgar. I love J. Trani's and Trani's Dockside Station, so I had to dine at their newest establishment on opening night. I dined with a group of family friends to celebrate the holidays. I was very impressed with the quality and taste of almost everything we tried. The lemon drop was to die for. We ordered the focaccia bread with ricotta that was the star of the night. It was all gone by tge time the shrimp appetizer came. Slater, our waiter told us after that the breac is usually paired with the shrimp. We obviously couldn't resist eating the bread immediately! The shrimp was so flavorful and fresh. Definitely will order again. The ceasar and Waldorf salads were light, fresh and delicious. The fritto misto was better than any other fried calamari I have ever had. I ordered the ribeye that was pretty disappointing. The ones at J. Trani's and Dockside are much better, in my opinion.
