I come here as often as I can for croissants - the croissants are perfect here and I am a croissant snob. I generally get plain but have enjoyed both raspberry and chocolate. We brought our one-year old to pick up his birthday cake that we pre-ordered on line. It was supposed to be a happy moment for all three of us. We were excited when we came in. The young girl at the till was cold receiving us. When asked if we could have a bag to contain the cake because of its large size, the girl was annoyed and argued their bag wouldn't be helpful as we would still have to keep the cake flat. She then watched us while we were struggling to pack the cake in the stroller, at the same time, carrying the baby. As soon as I rested the cake on the counter temporarily so I could rearrange the space under the stroller, she shouted at me "I don't have another cake for you if you put it there"! My husband responded that she could help us instead of complaining to us. The girl became argumentative, said we had refused the bag (we actually had asked for the bag but did not insist given how annoyed she was) she then grumbled loudly to her colleagues about us until we left... What a shame for a birthday cake that left us a bitter taste in the mouth. read more

I had lunch with my daughter the restaurant right next this place. After lunch, my daughter wanted some sweets so I went in here to get some cookies despite the fact that now they serve horrible coffee. There were some people but not busy. The two of workers were very slow. They saw me walking. There was no one in the line and I waited in front of their pastry show case right below order here sign. The works knew i was waiting. They had eye contact with me a few times but completely ignored me. Waited waited waited. They were moving slow and doing something and keep ignoring me. I finally walled out. I have been coming to Belle pastry for quite some time now and can only say great things about their coffee and especially their pastries. The staff is easy to deal with and is always so welcoming. Parking is easy... ***you can park in the two hour parking area and not get in trouble, it is not only for cvs customers. I met a good friend for coffee and pastries at Belle Pastry. The almond croissant and my green tea was as delicious and 5 stars as always. However, I found the service lacking. My friend was going through a hard time and wanted one of the waitresses to take a picture of us which would have taken 2 to 3 minutes of their day. The waitress dismissed her and despite repeated requests, continued to ignore her. I understand that there are food to be served but a kind gesture such as taking her picture would have made her day. The food is always excellent but I wish that the service would be on par with the food. So while 5 stars for food, I would give 3 stars for service, averaging a 4 star review. read more

Belle Pastry has the best pan au chocolat I have ever eaten out side of France. And they rank right up there with the best ones I've eaten in France. So incredibly buttery. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I love that they open at 6 AM during the week - I can swing by there and get a still warm pastry! Heard of belle pastry in yelp when I was searching for special bakery shops. Stumbled upon this location while I was at the old main street in Bellevue, so obviously I had to check it out. From the outside the shop looks very stylish and classy. Coming in it was ok. Went straight to the dessert selections which were all very pleasing. Tried their almond croissants, the lemon bar, pumpkin pie and chocolate desserts forgot the name, but bought it to-go for the husband. The Croissant was good! Service was reasonable, the gal who helped me was nice, although for a special bakery as belle, owners should train their staff to ask customers if they want recommendation for their best selections, and not just wait for their orders. not to be mean but they seem to give service like a grocery and supermarket corner section bakery clerks and not like they work at a high end specialty bakery..let alone a French bakery. You know friendly but not giving that extra sass in their services especially for the price you pay for their desserts. However, I will still be stopping by when I'm in the neighborhood. I do hope the owners read the low star reviews because I noticed they are a bit more than the higher stars. read more

This is an awesome little pastry shop in Bellevue's old town which is actually becoming a very hip and trendy area as of late. When you walk in, you will most likely find yourself at the back of a lineup of people waiting to order but, fear not, they get through everyone pretty fast so wait times are minimal. Where you will find difficulty is in deciding what to order out of all the super delicious looking choices laid out in their display cases. I decided on the quiche lorraine which comes a one little round pastry rather than a slice of a larger pie and a chocolate macaroon for my mid day snack. The quiche was really good with the crust being perfectly light and flaky and the insides all hot and filled with deliciousness. The macaroon was just okay and a little dense for my liking, but still tasted good. This is definitely a place you could lose yourself in for an hour or so either chatting with friends, reading a book, or just gazing out the big windows while enjoying your snacks and beverages. read more

I tried the Nutella brioche and it was good. Don't come in here thinking you can get a latte and pastry and use your laptop. Unfortunately they don't have internet ! I mean how cheap can the owner be? Plus they don't have many sandwiches either. Barely any outlets to use your laptop. I was disappointed I thought it would be like the Redmond version but it isn't. Not a bad pastry shop. I haven't had a full array of pastries yet, but between the handful of times they ranged from really darn good to so so. The beverages are good and the space is way more comfy to work out of as opposed to paying a little more down the street from the Starbucks for a crammed busy spot. Why not enjoy some buttery goodness with your dosage of caffeine mixed with the experience of a Stacy area jammin' to jazzy tunes. I asked the person if she could warm up our croissants, she said we close in 35 minutes and so have already switched off our toaster and microwave. Then another person at the bakery asked a customer to move to a different table as he needed to clear the area since they were closing in 30 minutes, the customer was decent enough to pick all his food while in the middle of eating and moved to a corner. If you want to close the bakery 30 minutes earlier then maybe just change the hours, the people working were so rude to all the customers. On top of that, I asked the girl at the counter ingredients of a cookie since my kid is allergic to nuts, she said just regular flour. Maybe the staff needs to be taught the difference between regular flour and almond flour, as based on her recommendation my kid ate that cookie and ended up having a severe allergic reaction. My coworker and I just got 2 sandwiches at the Bellevue location and we were both very disappointed. Her croque monsieur was cold and stale. No offer to warm it. My egg salad I asked for no onion and it was obvious it was made ahead of time and onions were just pulled off. My croissant was also stale. For over $7, it was not acceptable. We work close by and recommend your bakery often, so this is a disheartening experience. Your desserts are beautiful, so it is unfortunate our lunch was so bad. I felt you should be aware. How disappointing! I was looking forward to seeing a friend who was visiting from NY. I looked up dessert spots on the eastside open late on Yelp. This one got great reviews and was open until 9 PM on Thursdays. We were both excited to catch up and enjoy what we thought was going to be an amazing experience. My friend was already there and I parked next to her car. As I was walking to the door, at 7:48, the woman who worked there locked the door. Since the parking lot has only three or so spots and the wall and doors are all windows, there's no way she did not see me. She didn't look at me or point toward the open door. No acknowledgment whatsoever. Confused, I went in to the street door. As I was looking, I was asked what I wanted. I explained I was meeting a friend and am just looking for the moment. The man and woman employees told me, without a smile, that they were closing in 11 minutes. Ok, now I know why the woman was trying to be rude and shut me out. She clearly wanted to close. I questioned the time and indicated the website said 9 PM. Both employees explained that they don't run their own website and knew the information on it, including the closing times, were wrong. They didn't offer an apology for anything and went back to closing down. My friend came out of the bathroom and had already paid for her chai tea & pastry. So, despite wanting to leave, I decided what I wanted and had to let the woman know I was ready to order. I ordered three items, planning on sharing with my family. I paid with a card & she turned the computer toward me to sign and went back to what she was doing. Clearly it was more important than saying thank you, good bye or anything else. In fact, we opted to leave the store immediately, rather amazed by such horrible customer service from when the employee first locked me out. We ended up going across the street to Monsoon & had an amazing experience with great food, great service and employees who made us feel welcome and wanted our business. When I got home, I went to put away the pastries. I don't know why I was surprised. There was no presentation on the desserts. The creme brulee wrapping was actually broken off in multiple places. Not at all aesthetically pleasing. It tasted fine but I wouldn't have served it to guests & ended up dumping them after a bite. Considering that they don't prioritize their website, which represents their company, it isn't too much of a stretch to see that they have no cares in how they present their desserts or themselves. So rude & no pride in their work at all throughout my visit. I wish I'd had the experience everyone else had talked about in their reviews. After many minutes of waiting and no one showed up (and decided to order the meringues near the cash register) I decided to go to the person at the cashier to ask for help. Figured everyone else was busy. She rudely told me I needed to order earlier, not knowing I was waiting for awhile. It felt like I wronged her. I felt uncomfortable after placing a drink order and she told me again, that I needed to order beforehand. I used to love coming here for the great bakery goodies and the service was so much better. Would have been 5 stars except for a few apathetic employees with crappy attitudes. The pastries are fabulous, the espresso marginal (at least it was today). The place is always busy and tables are always at a premium. A very bustling location. Yes, the tables are almost always dirty. Yes, it appears you're supposed to self bus (despite the numerous people whom appear to expect someone else to clean up their messes). Yes it's disorganized (no real customer flow is indicated with espresso's being handed out at what *might* have been the start of the line, pastries being handed out all over the place (with some brought out by employees to the tables) and a cashier at the back of the café; yes the customers appear oblivious (due to the clear lack of customer flow and amount of business) and are stepping all over each other. For a popular location, I can almost deal with that. What ruins the atmosphere is the crappy attitude of the employees. When I ask for a manager to discuss the matter I was told there was no manager present today. Shocker! Of course that's why the lunatics were running the asy... er... I mean why some employees had such a crappy attitude like they didn't give a $@&# about the customers. Linette's attitude was front and center. Sorry that she was having a bad day, but no need to take it out on the customers. Aside from yanking tables around to reposition them (never mind that customers were *seated* at the aforementioned tables she yanked away from them to reposition) was her sullen demeanor, lack of any semblance of enthusiasm or, frankly... care. No smile. No eye contact. No "Hello." No "thank you." But, to be frank that was par for the course as none of the employees greeted, nor thanked me, nor any of the customers in front or behind me in line. While some of the employees did at least make eye contact and smile, it's hard to make up for the one or two employees that are CLEARLY hating their jobs (or the customers, not sure which), but where I generally would have ignored the sullen apathy in sake of a second cup of espresso, the sole selling point of good pastries with poor coffee and lousy employee service and care makes for a "no thanks, would rather go to Starbucks" for me. read more

Awful customer service we had to wait in front of pastry cooler without someone asking for my order or to tell us where to order and if we needed any help. There were other customers like us who were not happy. Then when we complained no Sorry no apology at all!!!! Servers are rude and careless. Catering review for Belle Pastry. A few years back, I was in charge of the desserts for a large gathering at my church in Bellevue. Everything was delivered beautifully, intact and on time. They do charge for deliveries and when you are serving over 500 it's well worth the price, roughly $40. When he (the owner, David?) arrived and I was counting all the pastries, it was communicated to me that there would be about 40 more people than what I had ordered for. I panicked! David of course was very calm. He called his shop asked them to wrap up 40 pieces that he had in his case and went back to his shop and immediately delivered the 40 other pieces. He saved my bacon that day and I was super grateful! Most recently, I hosted a holiday party for my clients at my home and had made another delivery order two weeks prior. It was getting a little late for the drop off so I called to inquire what was happening. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and they had the delivery date for the following week. David, immediately got on the phone and we talked about what I had ordered, he filled the order to as close as what I had originally ordered and then drove over and delivered it all. Everything was beautiful and delicious! Even though there was a miscommunication, it was great to have him correct it immediately. He also sent a gift card the next day which was a lovely gesture. I also own a small business and I understand the difficulties of having employees and in the end knowing that we're all doing the best we can. I would highly recommend doing business with Belle Pastry, they have proven to be extremely professional and gracious. read more

We have been to Belle Pastry twice now and we are not impressed with the food or their pastries. I don't think any of the employees let alone the owner(s) have ever been to France. Every time I try something from Belle Pastry, I want to love it...really, I do. However, time and time again I'm disappointed. Seeing as the miniature arrangement of pastries has made an appearance at a few recent family gatherings, I've really dabbled in all they have to offer. Out of the numerous shortbread cookies, eclairs, tarts and bread puddings I've devoured from Belle Pastry, I'd say the only one that left a positive memory in my mind was the Pear Almond Tart. It wasn't spectacular, but the firm tart paired well with the cappuccino I ordered. I haven't had anything terrible from Belle Pastry, it's just not the first place (or second, or even fifth) that I would trek to when I'm craving something sweet. My husband ordered the strawberry cake on Friday, the minimum days to preorder a cake since pick-up was today, Sunday. When we served the cake for my father-in-law's birthday, I thought the cake was disgusting. The cake was hard, as though it had been made two or more days prior and felt the cream even had bit of a sour taste! I have no idea what has happened to this bakery. I have ordered a handful of yummy cakes from them in the past. With the $38 price tag for today's cake that will feed 10-12, I will definitely order elsewhere next time. The strawberry and napolean were my favorite cakes here but not anymore. Fumie's Gold makes a better strawberry cake and is literally a couple of blocks away and love the pastries and napolean at The French Bakery. Another great bakery I go to is Midori in Redmond. Too many places are better to waste time and money here. read more

This is one of my favorite pastry shops! I wish they could bring this down to Los Angeles. I've made it my mission to always try something different whenever i'm in here, and I can vouch that all of their pastries are right on point and delicious. My favorite though, is the Raspberry Napoleon. The flaky puff pastry in-between the custards is just the right amount of flakiness, and their custard and cake is not overly sweet.
