I had a great experience at this Belle Tire location. I came in on a busy Saturday, and even though they were understaffed, the team still found a way to fit me in, which I really appreciated. I originally brought my car in to have the ball joints checked, but instead of doing unnecessary work, they took the time to diagnose the issue correctly. They explained that the ball joints didn't need to be replaced and found a cracked oil filter housing that was causing an oil leak. That honesty and attention to detail really stood out. They replaced the housing, filled the car with oil, and were upfront that it was about a 4-hour job, but I ended up getting the car back the same day. Professional, honest, and efficient service. Had gotten the front end alignment plan on my two daughters' vehicles last year. It was definitely worth it! Had each of their cars aligned every 3 months (Michigan roads), and it kept their new tires (Christmas 2022 gifts) from wearing unevenly. Decided to get my car and the wife's done today. Afterwards, noticed a significant difference in the rides - both VERY smooth and the minor tremors were gone that I've been thinking we're due to air pressure or other issues from time to time. Also had my daughter's ride checked (4th time it's been checked this year under the unlimited alignments for 1 year plan that I got her). They let me know an inner tie-rod was wearing and was a cause of her alignment going bad since August (and she had said it seemed to drift while driving and pull when stopping lately). They replaced the tie-rod (and I got the free alignment), and now the ride and stopping are true (no drifting or pulling). Great team at this facility. Have always gotten good prices too! Big thanks to Will and Jim for taking care of me! They've also been promot with the work and the vehicle is ready when promised. I'll be transferring all my new tire purchases and work that they can do over to them now instead of the dealer or other local shops that I use. read more

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Jalen S for his awesome service this morning. I've been avoiding getting a pair of tires due to people constantly trying to upsell me. I don't drive my car much so I know that my tires don't have that much wear on them. I went into the Royal Oak Location (STEPHENSON HWY) with clear intention of the amount I wanted to spend and my expectations. Jalen not only met but exceeded them. I didn't have an appointment but I was able get my vehicle back under the time he promised. First of all, they advertise free alignment checks but they give you a quote immediately as if you are definitely going to be getting an alignment. I also watched as they turned someone away who wanted to get an alignment check because they wanted to know the results of the check before purchasing an alignment. This tells me that they likely make sure the printout says you could use an alignment. It's a pressure tactic that prevents you from having the choice of obtaining services when taking them up on their "free alignment check." They don't give you the "before" measurements before doing any work, like they should. This also makes me think they will likely give you an alignment whether you truly need it or not. They definitely didn't even attempt to explain anything to me. I'm not even sure the sales person that was charging me for the alignment even knew how to read the alignment report. He certainly wasn't the one to ask about what Toe, Camber, or Caster are. On top of everything, the print out said that my camber on the front left wheel was even more out of spec than it was before. Yet when I asked them about it'd they said it wasn't adjustable.... So how did it change and why was it more out of spec than when I brought it in? Definitely won't be going back. I gave them a couple stars for getting my car in right away with an appointment and getting me out in about an hour. I definitely expected worse. read more

I called Belle Tire at Noon and dropped off the car at 12:10. At 12:30, I was notified that I had a leak in the reservoir. When I arrived at this Belle Tire location, I was cheerfully greeted by the service advisor and my car was quickly taken into their service bay. Within 30 minutes they had my car assessed and alignment corrected. Being an engineer, I appreciated the computer printout of the "before" and "after" measurements on my vehicle. A damaged one. They had it for 9 hours. Today I noticed they didn't even bother to change the tire...like, ok. Sure. We make mistakes. I go out of my way and take it back to them. Took my van in to have a caliber replaced and I was told that my brakes would work after that. They replaced a caliber, it took 2 hours more than the time estimate I was told about, as soon as I left the abs and the brakes check lights in my dashboard came back on. I called them back they said bring the van back The problem is if I had time to keep driving back in forth I would have took it to a more reasonable shop. Poor customer care & service. I was standing in line & desk manager didn't even acknowledge me as a customer who walk-in in for help. (All I need was air in tire as I was driving out of state). I had to go thru office as air machine on the back side was broken. He then kept taking calls as phone rang while I am standing there in line in front of him!! What an .... Took my car in for an alignment/diagnosis on some problems. Asked them to do an oil change as well. They called before any work was done to give me quote and I declined them to do any service on my car and they said "okay, then it's ready to be picked up whenever". Great, went and picked it up immediately and left, no problem. They then called me 10 minutes later to say that they actually did do an oil change and I owe them for it. I check my car and they reset the oil change notification on my dash but didn't add a sticker on the windshield with new mileage. Then I checked my oil and it was black. They didn't do an oil change. They just shut off the notification and tried to get me to pay for an oil change that didn't happen. Scammers that also over priced the service I needed/misdiagnosed my other issues with the car. Not impressed with Royal Oak location. Took my 83 year old mother's van in to have a tire with a slow leak checked on Tuesday morning. I am from out of town. The Royal Oak folks said a couple days. So brought back the next morning and they told me not till next week. I explained that I leave on Saturday bSo called Madison location and spoke with Randall. He said they could get it in Thursday. So drive over Wednesday afternoon and drop it off. Then walk 1/2 mile to my mother's house. True to his word, Randall got it in. I give a 3 star total...5 stars for the Madison Hts location and 1 star for Royal Oak. read more

This Belle Tire location never lets me down. I have been there for tire fixes, new tires, etc. With my previous vehicle, the dealer told me that I needed a new battery at some crazy price. I stopped at Belle Tire and was assured that I did not need a new battery and I sold the car 2 years later with the same battery. Yesterday I needed a battery in my current vehicle. It took AAA several hours to get out to give my car a jump so I did not make it to the shop until just after 5. I was completely prepared to leave my car as they closed at 6. Scott assured me that I could wait and they would get it done for me. I was on my way long before 6 and at a reasonable cost for the battery. read more

Steve, possibly the manager, said they would honor their warranty and replace the battery that we were told was low and incorrect by a master mechanic. We brought our vehicle there and dropped it off as they said they would replace it. Steve called us back and said there is nothing wrong with HIS battery. Stating it was HIS battery implied he took this personally, which was unprofessional. He said they would not replace it because it wasn't bad according to their tests. Regardless if it was a bad battery or not, it would have been the professional thing to replace it like they said they would. Overall, very poor experience. read more

I've been going to Belle Tire for over 25 years now and while I do buy my tires from them, I also have had service done here at the 11 mile store in Royal Oak Mi for most of that time. They are fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. While they can't always do some of the more complex work, they are good at referring me to a good shop that can. But most of the time they have been able to perform the tasks that I need done. This past visit they were able to do some electrical work on my 20 year old Toyota Avalon as well as install some new headlight/turn signal/running light units complete with shiny new lenses and reflectors and tighten up a resonator and only had the car a bit over 3 hrs. I recommend bringing your car in early. Once they get a few hours into the day, they get quite busy and it will add hours of wait time. The order writers are personable and know their stuff. Mr Robinson helped me this past visit and was helpful and friendly. When I had questions regarding the work that would be done he was quick to get answers from the mechanic who had assessed the problem and get back to me with the details. Thanks for your great work. I'll return with confidence next time I need work done on my car. read more

I had an appointment and was told 30-45 minutes. It's been an hour and a half. Some dude with a caddy came in 20 minutes after me and was out 20 minutes later. I was told that there was a problem in the back, but it was clear that they flat out forgot about my car. I went in 16 months ago to see why my fairly new tires needed air every day. I had bought them there. The serviceman took me back when car was on the glider. He showed me how my tires were worn out from the inside right to the belts! Ended up buying Four new tires. (And ahead a flat the next day). 14 months later, tires losing air again. Turns out, Belle Tires replaced my tires without fixing the problem! Guess what? My tires are ground down again and I need new tires! What kind of racquet is this? Two weeks ago someone ripped the catalytic converter off of our vehicle damaging the exhaust system from near the exhaust manifold to just before the resonator. This location Belle tire took advantage of the situation claiming that the entire exhaust system had to be replaced. They claimed that the flange on the resonator was too rusted and damaged after a few minutes of research on the cost of the parts that they selected to use on the vehicle they wish to charge over $1300 for $600 worth of parts and on their estimate they were only charging $40 labor. We took the vehicle to a nearby muffler shop where they were able to replace the catalytic converter and have our car up and running the same day for less than $500 Bell tire May have the best prices on tires but when it comes to anything else done at Belle tire they will rip you off. read more

I took my car in because the low tire pressure light was on and my brakes were squealing after they adjusted them. The manager couldn't explain the work that was done and the guy that handled the order went home for the day and hadn't left any notes. The manager acted totally annoyed with my questions about what work was done. He called the guy and got the details on the work, but seemed really put out, possibly because it was warranty work which they make nothing on and also, I believe that if a man had asked these questions he would not have acted so rudely and told him that.
