This place is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location; it definitely gives Tulum vibes. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet my expectations. We ordered the salmon skewers, rice, fries, teriyaki burger, banana espresso martini, and the matcha martini. The salmon wasn't fully cooked in my opinion and could have been grilled or seared a bit longer. The rice and burger were just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The fries, however, were delicious and seasoned perfectly. One positive was that the food came out very quickly. The service was decent overall, and our server did recommend a great drink option. Despite the mixed experience, I'd still consider giving this place another try.
Just left from here less than an hr ago. Was very busy. Was packed outside and everywhere inside the restaurant. About 4-5 bartenders working. The service was alright. I had the Marine Layer. Thought it was happy hour but was told there's no happy hour on Fridays. The drink was $17 with tax, $18.65. It wasn't worth it at all. It was a nice looking drink tho. It tasted alright. Barley tasted any liquor.
I wasn't too sure how good a restaurant on Venice beach would be just because I figured it would be all "hype" and not exactly quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The establishment nice, staff is friendly as well as helpful, and the food is good! I highlight recommend. It seems that it may turn into a late night spot later into the night, which seems fun. We were there for dinner so we didn't get to witness the late bight activities. Being that it's on Venice beach the prices are extremely fair. We opted for a ride share because parking can be a little tough especially with bigger vehicles.
If you're looking for a spot that instantly puts you in island mode, this place nails it Just a short walk from the beach, the Hawaiian-inspired ambience alone makes it worth the visit--laid-back, breezy, and perfect for unwinding. The food definitely lives up to the vibes. Everything we ordered was satisfying. The rock shrimp was crispy and addictive, the tuna poke salad tasted fresh, and the teriyaki burger was just okay--nothing bad, but it didn't quite stand out compared to the other dishes. And of course, Tito's shots to top it all off for a birthday celebration. Between the atmosphere, great food, and beachside location, this is easily a spot I'd come back to again. Perfect for a casual hangout, date night, or just soaking in those aloha vibes.
First timers. Came to LA for the weekend and found this spot on TikTok. Located walking distance from Venice beach. We sat on the patio right away and our server was nice and friendly. We ordered the items below *Avocado toast - 2/10 *Teriyaki burger w/ fries - 7/10 *crispy shrimp app - 3/10 *tuna crispy rice - 5/10 *poke bowl - 9/10 *espresso martini flight (2 coconut + 1 strawberry yuzu) - 5/10 Spent about $200 overall Overall ambiance of the indoor outdoor setup was nice. Service was great. However the food was mostly a miss. Loved the poke bowl but that was about it. Bathrooms are super dim but cute.
First time here and the restaurant was cute and fully on theme, which made for a fun atmosphere. Most of the drinks were also delicious and surprisingly strong. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries (which were not included with the sandwich). The chicken was dry, the breading was burnt, and it was so tough that it became difficult to eat. It had a weird texture where it was stringy and hard. The fries, however, completely saved the meal. They were fresh, crispy, and paired perfectly with the truffle aioli.
Belles Beach House makes a really good first impression. A beautifully designed tiki-house concept without the rough edges most tiki-house-type establishments have (in my experience). So far, so good. I got the spicy tuna roll; my wife got the tuna avocado roll. Both were well-crafted with fresh ingredients. Very solid sushi rolls (although both were on the small side), but definitely not "wow" in terms of taste. The service was the key let-down and the reason for a 4-star (vs. 5-star) review. While the hostess sat us at our table promptly and we were given menus and water, it took some waving when literally no one came over to our table to take our order. The same was true when it came to paying the bill. Our waiter was friendly enough but didn't seem all that engaged. I could see myself returning to have an exotic cocktail at the bar, though.
Decided to take the boys to Venice beach for the first time and ended up grabbing lunch at Belles Beach House. First off there is a parking lot right across the street but if you want to stay for more than 3 hours, you're paying $35. Once we arrived we were seated outside on the patio and the area was nice and clean and it has like this tiki vibe to it. Our waitress was quick to take our order and gave some good suggestions on food. I decided on the kushi-yaki ponzu king salmon, the rock shrimp and some fries. I also went with the marine layer and everything was solid! I will say that their portions are small and the burger is also pretty small. My 6 year old son ordered a burger and it's was the perfect size for him. Oddly, I thought my oldest son's chicken nuggets was the highlight of everything. The chicken was nice and tender. Overall, it was really good and I would recommend it if you are in Venice. Also, note that everything is à la cart so French fries do not come with the sandwiches. Definitely giving those Tulum, tropical vibes and very fitting being in Venice and close proximity to the beach. We came here for a group dinner of about 6, where we were seated on time and the staff was friendly. The cocktails are tasty - tiki-style, sweet-taste reminiscent. I got the pineapple one which was tasty. Glasses seemed a bit smaller with the ice ratio so drinks finish up quick! Ordered to eat everything family-style. We ordered the crispy rocket shrimp, spicy tuna crispy rice, miso maple salad, mochiko chicken nuggets. Everything tasted solid, maybe not something I've been craving again but it's good! A friend was craving lobster rolls and then to their surprise it was actually lobster sushi rolls, but it ended up being a highlight of the night. I would consider coming back for trying other sushi rolls!
This place is a gem. Beautiful layout, whether you want with a cozy intimate meal inside or a more vibrant outdoor patio. The food selection is great, and it's hard to choose just one item, so I ordered 7! The chicken burger was succulent and juicy, pairs well with pineapple. The rock shrimp was amazing and the portions were generous. Try their sauteed green beans, the nuggets, or even the salmon sushi! I'm definitely coming back.
Before I start on how great our visit was I do need to emphasize the importance of making a reservation. They have quite the wait times however so worth it. We started with drinks and they were delicious as well as super cute! As for the food literally everything we ordered was superb! The poke bowl was fresh and good quality. The chicken sandwich had perfectly crunchy breading and the slaw was great. We also ordered kimchi pork belly buns, dumplings, sushi roll and truffle fries. Everything absolutely everything was on point. Highly recommend the dumplings; we got an extra order after devouring the first order lol service was great and although they were busy the food came out in a timely manner and our table was well attended to.
Belles is a happy oasis in the middle of Gotham City, aka the city of angels. I could have been imagining things, but the further I walked into their inviting, whimsically curated space, the harder it was to connect with my cares. I think they have a cares signal scrambler, hidden beneath the bamboo stalks that line the face of the richly hued, welcoming bar. I loved the Miso Maple Salad, and the sauteed green beans were delicious. Our server was upbeat, attentive, and accommodating. Everyone who came past our table was, actually. No, this isn't Nobu, but it is its own unique, pleasant experience. Everything we ordered was solid, flavorful and enjoyed. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by on Saturday and thought this place was so cute. It's a chic spot with a DJ playing house-style music that really sets the vibe. The decor gives off island vibes, which I loved. Our server, Isabella, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations, and we ended up ordering what she suggested. The food was delicious! I just wish there were more food options since I love to eat lol, but their drink menu had plenty of great choices. Overall, we'd definitely come back again. read more

I was lucky enough to receive an invite to experience dinner at Belles Beach House. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. The food and drinks were very flavorful and expertly presented, and our server was friendly and helpful. The decor is also so cute -- you feel like you've stepped into a cabana in Hawaii! Our meal included two cocktails, an appetizer, and a main. We chose: Maui Waui Slushie (patron silver tequila, watermelon, mango, lime): I liked that it stayed Slushie-like! It wasn't overly strong but was very light, refreshing, and delicious. Mai Tai: Such cute presentation in the toucan mug (and an unexpected surprise to see it come out that way!). It was pretty strong but tasty. Spicy tuna crispy rice: This definitely had a kick! My friend and I really enjoyed it. The bites of tuna were substantial and filling. Shrimp katsu bao buns: These were sort of like fish tacos in bao bun form. We liked them, but they were pretty small to consider a main dish. If they came with a side salad or something that would help. We were glad we added on another item to round out the meal. We also added on the garlic butter noodles with a side of chicken teriyaki. We actually weren't told the chicken cost extra (and it didn't say that on the menu) so the $6 charge was a bit of a surprise. But they were very flavorful, not too overly buttery, and the chicken was very tender. I got a second drink, the coconut banana espresso martini. I liked the way it tasted, but didn't love all the coconut pieces floating on top -- it felt like I was drinking orange juice with pulp. It took away from the deliciousness and smoothness of the cocktail. This is a very fun and lively restaurant right on the beach. Just FYI parking is SUPER tough but that's pretty standard for Venice. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out! read more

We came into Belles after visiting Kassi Beach and we loved it. The hostess was so kind and informed it would be about a 5-10 minute wait and we could go to the bar meantime. We were greeted by Eric who was very kind and attentive. I got the Belles with tequila and it had lime, pineapple, cucumber, and green chili. My friend got the Coconut Banana Espresso Martini. They have four different kinds of Espresso Martinis. We got moved to our table pretty quickly and our server was Chloe and was very lovely. Our second round of drinks were the Marine Layer for me and the Staycation for my friend. We enjoyed all the drinks. The ambience is great, is quite spacious. They have indoor and outdoor seating we opted for indoor. It's a tiki bar and the decorations are so beautiful even the restrooms were so pretty. We look forward to coming back to try the food and more drinks. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about our dinner here. The atmosphere and decor was cool but casual with a tiki bar vibe, the food was amazing. Every single dish was better than expected. The service was just right. They have adequate staff that comes around just often enough that you feel taken care of but your dinner doesn't feel intruded. It's located down in Venice Beach. Can't wait to go back here next time I'm in town. read more

Belles Beach! It's a well known spot in Venice. The wait to get in is very long. Night life is good here and play the best music here so if you want to go out, I'd come here. It's cute in here with the tiki theme. I've not tried the food but it looks good. For just dining, you can find young and older people enjoying the food. If you are here for nightlife, it's mostly young people and the place is packed. At the main center floor close to the bar, groups are standing around and huddled together. It gets stuffy. The lounge chairs and back of the house is more chill and is where I escape to not feel claustrophobic and bumping shoulders. It's like a tiki frathouse social scene vibe here. People come dressed up or in their Socal skate clothes. Drinks were alright. I didn't encounter any friendliness or felt they care about the service. They know people are going to order drinks and food. I would come back only to hang out with friends for drinks and food and enjoy the dance music. Guys seem to like to hunt for girls here for some casual, no strings attached fun. read more
TLDR: It's a restaurant/bar in one of the most touristy areas of LA, so don't walk in with any expectations. 0% recommend unless you must eat in close proximity to the beach (note: NO ocean views from inside), and if so, ask to sit in Mitchell's section (reviewers are raving about him *shrug*). Longer: Perusing recent reviews, it appears there has been a push for patrons to comment on positive experiences with specific servers. Good for you, Mitchell! Too bad you weren't my server ;( I don't have the time to look back further to see what negative reviews Belles is trying to cover up, but that's the only assumption I can make when I see so much of the same 4-5 star reviews. But keep in mind my biggest Yelping tip: read a variety of ratings, look at the most recent pictures, and be sure you're keeping in mind everything is an ~it depends~ situation and you're only getting one side of the story. My specific experience: I was staying in the area solo on an off-season Thursday night in need of dinner. Most options in the area had already shuttered by 9pm, so Belles was it (or delivery fast food, yuck). Host was friendly enough and got me seated at the bar, something I do regularly in SF. Once seated, I looked around to realize I was a room full of early 20 year olds seemingly ramping up for a wild night. Sigh. Do LA college kids partake in Thirsty Thursday? Keep in mind if you're wanting something chill -- this particular Thursday night was not at all chill. The menu has your classics with asian/polynesian twist -- I think just about every food preference could find something to eat (plain burger to sashimi), which is a plus for families. First order of business: ordering a drink. Wait, A SLUSHY DRINK?! Yes please! Even though I was sitting at the bar attempting to make eye contact with every person (mostly bros) who stood in front of me, it took ~10 minutes and finally asking (without server's eye contact at first) "hey, can I order from you or do I need to flag down a server?" Maybe I wasn't dressed up enough in my fleece and black jeans (aka no tatas out)? Maybe I was ignored because I didn't have the pounds of makeup + fake eyelashes? Maybe they're not used to people actually sitting at/ordering from a bar seat? Maybe they're used to dealing with a different type of bird and we just don't mix? I dunno. Once I got the drink order in, my indecisive, starving brain was able to find something I knew I would enjoy -- a sushi roll. When someone (bartender?) handed over my drink, I placed the food order 'cause I was not sure when I'd have the chance again. I couldn't figure out who worked what role, and maybe they were switching some people from dinning room to bar, shifts were ending...? I dunno. These are things that happen in most restaurants, and some simple planning and communication goes a long way. Drink was more liquid, less slushy. I know slushy machines are a pain to upkeep/maintain, but maybe these were due for service? Or the person who put the mix in got the proportions off? If the quality of drink is diminished when serving, why not say "no good, want something else?" I dunno. Even so, had someone asked me if I wanted a second drink before I finished my meal, I probably would have ordered a second 'cause slushy pina coladas are hard to come by in my neck of the woods up north and some slush is better than none. Given we're on the west coast and it was mid-week, I assumed it'd be fresh fresh. It wasn't old, per se, but the portion and flavor was disappointing. Not to mention, I had to remind staff about the order... When I got my bill, it felt way too overpriced for the food and service I received. Given what I know now, I'd approach a late meal at Belles very differently, including/especially NOT sitting at the bar if I am going to order food. read more

Cute spot for our girls' brunch & beach day! Definitely on the pricier side with drinks (as most places in SM/venice are) but the ambiance and service makes up for it. We ordered hawaiian fries (10/10), matcha banana waffles (8/10), crispy rock shrimp (8.5/10), hamachi roll (7/10), and a couple of cocktails. The yuzu spritz was my favorite; piña colada slushie was good as well but you can definitely taste the alcohol. We appreciated that there were security guards and there was luckily no wait for a walk-in on a Sunday morning. A section of the bathrooms was closed so my friends had to wait almost 15 mins to use the restroom though. read more

Went here for dinner after work and the food + atmosphere was great! I got the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of fries and they were both delicious. I especially loved how sesame-y the sandwich bun was. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce that came with the fries (not sure what it exactly was), but you can ask for ketchup or ranch on the side for free. The pricing was reasonable too. It was about $25 for my meal, including tax and tip, and I was full for the rest of the night. The service was great too - they were always checking in on us, refilling our water bottle and taking empty plates. It wasn't too busy when we went, but I would recommend still booking a reservation in advance if you can. I also heard the cocktails and sushi are tasty too, but I haven't tried yet. We visited Belle Beach House last Saturday around 5 pm, and the experience was amazing! I was attracted to its tropical interior design when I searched for the restaurant online, so we decided to give it a try. Belle Beach House is located on Windward Ave, Venice Beach. I really loved their tropical interior with the wooden shutters/doors, bamboo ceiling, lanterns, totems, and plants. It transformed the restaurant into a tropical vacation spot on some island, which felt both relaxing and lively! They also have a bar and an outdoor seating area. We ordered Edamame ($8) and Miso Maple Salad ($16), which were so refreshing and delicious. The spice was just right, adding the perfect touch. The Miso Black Cod ($32) was amazing--one of my favorite dishes now. You must order this! The Black Cod was so tender and flavorful, especially with the konbu chimichurri sauce. The Char Siu Pork Ribs ($26) was another favorite of mine--the ribs were incredibly tender and tasty! The Yellowtail Ponzu ($18) was great as well, and the Rock Shrimp ($16) was delicious. The Huli Huli Chicken ($28) was fantastic, and the Kalbi Short Rib ($25) was good too. The Salmon Avocado Roll ($19) was great! The Grilled Corn ($10) and Miso Eggplant ($8) were both good. For drinks, we tried the Thai Basil Lime Cucumber Spritz ($8) and Pineapple Cucumber Spritz ($8), both of which were refreshing and delicious. The Passionfruit Mousse ($10) for dessert was yummy! The service was excellent! Our server Sam was very friendly and attentive, and he recommended all the great dishes. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and will be visiting again soon! read more

I enjoy frequenting this place. The vibe is usually friendly with a pit stop kinda feel before the night gets started. AT 9:30 they take away the bar stools, which took me a bit by surprised. I didn't mind, as I heard that's a normal practice at many establishments. The bartenders are always nice and accommodating. The food is decent. I've had the Port Bao Buns, the Chicken Nuggets and the Pork Dumplings; all flavorful. A special note on the nuggets. I'm always impressed when the chicken is cooked just right (not over or under-cooked) and not heavily battered. read more

Very cool posh tiki bar. Nicely decorated with nice comfortable seating on the inside and an outside patio. We went there for dinner on Friday night and it was full inside so we decided to be seated outside on a somewhat cool night but they had the heaters going to keep us nice and warm. The dinner menu didn't have a lot of variety so it's definitely geared towards providing good quality drinks with a snack/appetizer. We got the herbed steamed rice, pork dumplings, pork bao buns, salmon poke bowl. We also got a couple cocktails throughout our dinner. The cocktails were very strong so be careful if ur a lightweight like me . Everything was delicious. I really liked the bao buns since it had a lot of flavor plus a mix of crispy, soft textures. The poke bowl came with seaweed wraps so I kinda made my own sushi and it was delicious. Nice ambiance, good service, drinks and food. Good place to hang out for an evening! read more

Why was this one of the best burgers I ever had? Like seriously order the Teriyaki Cheeseburger! It was so cheesy and well seasoned it made no sense that this place is killing it in the burger game. It seemed like the teriyaki sauce is a secret ingredient. You don't taste it which was what I was worrying about, it being an overkill and saucy. Nope! Just so good! And the ambience! I'm telling you it felt like I was not in Venice and on an island at a resorts restaurant. Just bizarre and incredible experience. I can't wait to go back! Oh and the shrimp, FIRE! read more

This is one of my favorite places to meet up with my friends. I love happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM delicious bite . We gather here once in a while my favorite thing is a brunch on weekends, but also coming for dinner is also so interesting. The drinks are really really delicious. That's what it keeps bringing me back. But also the times is really good kitchen close until 11 PM, perfect because drinking I guess so hungry . And I also like it because the DJ comes over later for turn up. Yeah Friday and Saturday. I heard Fridays and Saturdays this turn up to a nightclub and to 1:30 AM . The staff friendly.Park situation. It's really bad but you can pay in the back for $20 or you can park a little far away for free up to you. how is your budget. Well if you are in a Venice area pass by. read more

We've been interested in trying this spot and finally got to. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of seating. Inside was good vibes and had a DJ. We ordered the Coconut Banana Espresso Martini and Cannella which were both great! For food we tried the Rock Shrimp which was a very generous portion! We also tried the Spicy Tuna roll and the Hamachi Scallion roll. Both were pretty good. I thought their pricing was reasonable on the food. Our first night in town we tried to go for dinner but they had kinda closed down and turned into some type of TEENY BOPPER GEN Z GEN ALPHA dance club or something so we went to the Mexican place next door. Later that week we tried again for brunch and was glad we were able to get in and they weren't CLUBBING. The food was fresh, great, and scrumptious. Belles Beach House is an absolute vibe! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a fun, laid-back atmosphere that still feels elevated. The bartenders were awesome friendly, attentive, and clearly know their craft. Cocktails were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented--I couldn't stop smiling with each sip. The food was even better. The Kalbi beef garlic noodles were out of this world tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite had that rich, savory depth you dream of in a dish like this. We also ordered the yellowtail sushi roll, and it was unbelievably fresh, with clean, delicate flavors that just melted in your mouth. Checked out Belle's since they have a nice outdoor seating area and it was such a nice day. While there were plenty of tables open, it seemed like my party didn't match the vibe the promoter wanted so we could either wait an hour to sit outside or sit immediately inside. I figured inside was fine since we were hungry. Our server was super friendly and suggested the egg sandwich. Definitely an 8/10 the truffle aioli was very good. Our food didn't come out all together so my friend almost finished his entire breakfast burrito before I got my food. It's very cozy inside with a live DJ (I came on a Saturday). Good spot, nice view, decent food, beachfront prices. Interesting people that come thru here. Venice has friendlier vibes than other beach spots. The salad was decent but fries are always better of course. Didn't try the teriyaki burger but judging by it all being eaten by my friend it must've been good. Location is delightful right next to the beach, and the people who work there are nice. The food is not great! We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a rice bowl and street corn. The sandwich came to the table 15 minutes before the rice bowl and the corn came after that. The street corn was soooooo salty, we sent it back. It was inedible!! the breakfast sandwich was greasy (even with the barbecue sauce off the sandwich) and the rice bowl was just plain disappointing. Not to mention, we got charged six dollars for a small glass with about 3 1/2 ounces of grapefruit juice. Prices are high for small portions and though they say they are open for brunch, their breakfast-type menu is minimal! One good thing, dogs are welcome inside and outside. read more

One of my go-tos for girl brunch/dinner in Venice! Right next to the beach and Venice sign. Been here for brunch and dinner and it has the cutest vibes for celebrating a birthday or just a Sunday brunch. Love the American Hawaiian fusion food. Some favorites are breakfast burrito and yellowtail sashimi. Made a reservation for brunch and was glad we since it got pretty busy. read more

First of all, the interior is BEAUTIFUL! Such a vibe!! It's located right on Venice beach and great for drinks but the food is also incredible. As soon as you enter, you're invited with this familiar, tropical island service. The banana coconut espresso martini is to die for. It's creamy, nutty, with a hint of banana. If you're getting anything on the menu, you have to get the miso cod. The fish melts in your mouth and the wrap makes it so much better. I actually think it's better than the miso cod from Nobu. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for good food/drinks/vibes. read more

The hostess wasn't the friendliest, but I'm still giving 5 stars because the overall experience and food was great! We started off with some cocktails (marine layer and a classic margarita), both were yummy and refreshing. For appetizers we did the shrimp and the spicy tuna crispy rice. Both were great and worth ordering--the spicy tuna crispy rice was hands down the favorite. We also got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries and truffle aioli. It was my husbands choice and oh man, did he make a good call on ordering that sandwich. It was juicy and flavorful, with a fresh sesame bun. We'll definitely be coming back, and I can't wait to try other things on the menu! He restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. It does get a little hot inside, so I would recommend wearing lighter clothing. The servers were super friendly and helpful too! read more

How much is the cork fee?
Do we need reservations for tonight at 8pm?
Yes. I'd always make one but you can always put your name in and walk around until your table is ready.
How's the parking around Belle's?
You need to park and pay in lots near by. We will take Uber next time.

Are they open during holidays i.e. New Year's Eve?
They just opened in fall 2021 and were open for NYE but I would advise you call for info & reservations.
Are dogs allowed?
No, not even if they are in a carrier (I tried). However, service dogs are allowed.

There is Street parking and a paid parking lot across the street. Looking forward !

Yes, took my kid - and dog - there. Probably daytime is best though and early evening.

Yes, they won't seat you until everyone in your party has arrived.

i don't think you do... we showed up on a sat night without reservation and we got right in for diner... the place is pretty big.. lots of tables :)

Yes to indoor seating! I don't think it's overpriced at all. I went with 4 people and we got 5 apps and it was filling :)
