I have recurring lower back / S.I. Joint issues, TMJ with a jaw that pops and a recent neck problem. I was referred to Bellevue Chiropractic by a friend and my chiro experience was taken to another level. The office staff were super friendly and they set up appointments quicker than I expected. The attention given to social distancing and sanitizing during COVID made me feel very safe. Dr. Wisman & Dr. Alumbaugh are very knowledgeable and professional. .On top of that, they are the friendliest guys! They make you feel right at home. Just hearing them talk about their own passion for the outdoors, you know they are right there rooting with you to get back to 100%. I seriously felt like a VIP. They have answered any and all questions I've asked and thoroughly explained things to me. Best of all, they DO listen to you. Not only do they help you feel better, they help you understand why things happen, how to help prevent it, how to continue your healing process outside of his office. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask. I did this with my TMJ! All my life, my jaw has popped on the left side of my face. It is loud and sometimes painful- I've been warned that I would be looking at surgery down the road. I figured "it is what it is". Never in a million years would I have guessed a chiropractor could help with this. To date, no doctors or dentists have been able to help me other than advising to avoid chewing tough meat, bread, gum etc. Dr. Wisman assured me that he's seen great success with this exact issue and said he could provide treatment to help with my jaw popping. Overall, the adjustments were gentle, but effective. I am so relieved and happy to have found this office. This isn't the kind of chiropractic office that will just go in and start cracking away. Xrays are taken and then Dr. Wisman sits down and shows you all the places that are "stuck" or have limited mobility. After that, adjustments are made on a special table. There is no neck cracking involved. He broke down the treatment and gave me a timeline so I knew exactly what to expect and the time frame. It's been about three months - so far a great experience and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good chiropractor. Dr. Wisman is a true healer. I have never believed in chiropractors, but man was I wrong! I have suffered from terrible migraines and cluster headaches for the last 15 years. I have gone to countless doctors, had CT and MRI scans of my head, and all I have been given is more medication with no explanation for my pain. Over the last five years, my migraines got so severe it has been hard to even function. I got to the point where I had to take Excedrine or Imitrex almost daily to get through my day, and a sleeping pill to sleep through the pain. Before I saw Dr. Wisman, I had a migraine that lasted 9 days without stopping and I could barely function. My doctor still continued to tell me that I have 'a sensitive brain' and prescribed me strong seizure medication that was supposed to help prevent these headaches, but just made me feel drugged. I was visiting my sister in Seattle (who is a nurse) when she told me that her friend went to Dr. Wisman and he cured her migraines she had for years, so I thought I would give it a try. Well, that was the best decision I ever made! He was so kind and truly caring. The office was really nice. I was only in town for two weeks, and he made time to see me every day, even on the weekends! When I first went, I could barely move my neck due to the pain, and he immediately knew what was wrong with me after seeing my X-rays. It's unbelievable to me that the countless other medical professionals I have seen could have figured this out. Anyways, my top two vertebrae were basically pushed up into my skull, causing the pain. There were some other reasons too, that were additionally causing me sciatica pain, but he knew what they were and he fixed them all. He worked on me every day. I was feeling so sick from taking so much pain relief medicine and just feeling awful overall. After the first day, I could already see a huge difference. By the time I went for a week and a half, I was able to stop taking Excedrine and Imitrex on a daily basis and I could actually sleep at night (it's hard to sleep with a throbbing headache!). Now, I have gone about three weeks and only had one very minor migraine that easily went away with Advil (this never would have been a possibility before). I can actually wake up in the morning, be productive at work, and feel great! I haven't gone to a chiropractor since I came back to Texas. He even offered to help me find a chiropractor who can treat my specific issue here. I am so grateful to Dr. Wisman for being a true healer. I am only 29 years old and to be in this type of physical pain every day without any answers has been very debilitating. THANK YOU! read more

Cassandra is fantastic! I injured my elbow about a week before getting a massage with Cassandra. I was a little hesitant at first because I still had quite a bit of swelling and pain, but she did an amazing job! She listened attentively to my concerns and knew just the right amount of pressure to apply with my injury. My experience with Dr. Wisman and other doctors at this practice has been tremendous. My family and friends who I have referred to this clinic have been successfully treated and released of care. This office does it's best to treat your symptoms, fix your problem and get you going down the road to better health. They have state of the art equipment that will target your problem and then they treat it. After suffering for 6 months with pain related to a joint disorder, this doctor properly diagnosed and treated my issue with success. I had seen several doctors with no answers for my issues and just wanted to put me on pain medication for TMD; and yet another doctor told me I had fibromyalgia. This doctor recognized my problem and treated it. It took several months to get things calmed down and Dr. Wisman told me to expect things to take a while that it wouldn't be a one treatment fix. What I love, is that I don't have to go back and see him the rest of my life for this issue. This office has great resources for things like stress management, a naturopathic doctor in the house and other great chiropractors. My children have been treated for sport injuries and growth issues with success. The office is clean, organized, friendly and professional. read more

About 10 years ago my job and having kids worked a number on my lower back. I thought I was going to be plagued for the rest of my life with back pain. I came in after a bad adjustment from another chiropractor that left me barely able to walk--within an hour Dr. Wisman had me good to go. I see him for migraines I've had my whole life and in one visit he is able to alleviate the pain and nausea. I've called him last minute during horrible attacks that would usually land me in the ER and they make it flexible to get in asap so I can continue with my day. He is also genuinely concerned, offering before to stay and work late so I can rest a little before driving home to ensure I'm safe. This office is truly a godsend. Dr. Mayes is also really good. I started to feel pain in my lower back, neck and shoulders about 3 years ago.A friend told me that Dr.Wisman will be able to help me, but I wasn't convinced that seeing a chiropractor will help my condition. I simply took pills to relieve the pain. This year (2009), the pain got worse, I can't even bend down to tie my shoes. My friend once again told me that a Thai monk who saw Dr. wisman before moving back to Thailand and wants to come back to America just to see this incredible chiropractor again ! I decided to schedule my first appointment with Dr.Wisman. during the first visit, he told me that the first thing he will do is to make my headache go away. Really? I asked myself, I have been living with occasional headaches for over 10 years and a chiropractor is going to help me? Unbelievable! It really unbelievable, after 7-8 visits, my headache is completely gone and my back and shoulder pains are getting much better than before. Now I can live a normal life with free of pain! ***Look no further go to him he is without a doubt a great provider!*** I like to think I am a fairly healthy guy and have always been a skeptic when it came to chiropractic care. I put my small lower back pains aside for years until one day it just kind of just locked up. Dr. Wisman came highly recommended from a trusted friend. I was told about his "video fluoroscopy" x-ray machine to help determine exact issues (made sense to me). With this and his esteemed reputation I had an appointment in a few days. The front office staff was extremely helpful, welcoming, and the scheduling was VERY accommodating. Dr. Wisman is that type of person you immediately feel at ease with, this coupled along with his knowledgeable professionalism I felt in good hands. He thoroughly interpreted my x-rays and video fluoroscopy results before even attempting to adjust my back. Immediately after my adjustment the sharp pain I had for almost a week was gone!! To me it was really miraculous to felt like me again. He let me know that my issue really was not that serious and would probably only require 2-3 weeks to really fully correct. Sure enough only a few weeks later it was, he said I could just come in as I felt necessary. It only happened only once again after a backpacking trip but he adjusted me right back into place. I really respect how honest he was with my issue and how he educated me on the cause. I truly now believe that GOOD chiropractic care really works and feel extremely fortunate to come across Dr. Wisman! I moved to the area Back in July and I was feeling terrible neck pain from the long drive and all of the traveling. I have had many injuries that have effected my neck and back over the years. This is an amazing office full of wonderful caring people. Bellevue Chiropractic is one of few places where a fluoroscopy may be done. Viewing a moving image of your bones tells a much bigger picture. As an 'older' person who had never had any symptoms, I was astonished to learn (after being totaled) that I had residual childhood spinal and neck damage, which would have caused enormous pain and difficulty in another 10 to 15 years, but was fully revealed by Dr. John Wisman's sophisticated x-ray and diagnostic skills after the accident. Who knew that chiropractic care is at least as requisite as family practice; especially to those of us mostly in excellent health~~!! ?? After Dr. Wisman put Humpty Dumpty back together again, I have continued with preventive visits at least once a month; he is now precluding arthritis and keeping my spine fully adjusted, and balancing hips, also, when they get uneven and cause one leg to be shorter than the other . . . which I've only recently learned is a fairly common human dynamic; frequently causes a most unpleasant 'sciatica type' leg pain. It is not surprising that Dr. John Wisman was voted Chiropractor of the Year by over 2000 colleagues just a few years ago . . . I'd travel from the moon to keep an appointment with him!! jsh read more
