Went in on a Saturday morning (10:30am) and it was pretty full but not super packed. Got seated in the back booth within a minute of entering. parking could be difficult, but we we're lucky and got a spot right in the front. I ordered the Mexican Omelette and my brother ordered the Pork Chops & Eggs. I also ordered a waffle, but it was like warm. The food was delicious and portions were pretty big. I didn't even eat another meal until dinner time. The only downside to this place is that they just have one bathroom. Not a convenient thing if you're gonna be a busy breakfast spot. I came here for breakfast on a whim. My waiter was polite, personable, and helpful when figuring out how I like my eggs. I got a family vibe from this diner. Especially when a woman and her kids showed up, and she kissed my waiter on the cheek (I'm fairly certain she was his mom). It wasn't a snooty diner where you felt uncomfortable, and I could definitely see myself reading the paper and staying for coffee. My breakfast arrived in a timely manner. I wanted to like the Bellflower Diner. Maybe that's why I'm so disappointed. My chilaquile omelet was... odd. I expected crispy, fresh chilquiles wrapped inside a fluffy omelet. What I received was a flat, solid scrambled egg base topped with overcooked, colorless, too spicy and bland at the same time, mess. I wanted beans and rice but was served potatoes. My husband ordered the corned beef hash. It was just your ordinary canned diner hash, but his over easy eggs came one over medium and the other over hard. This meant mixing everything for gooey delicious-ness was out of the question. The coffee was ok, I'm just being picky that I didn't like they had non - dairy creamer. Went for breakfast... Place looks vintage, which I can appreciate, as long as it also looks clean. Stuff here just looks old and dirty. The dingy, dusty bills hanging from the vents are kinda gross too. Waitress was not very friendly, and I had to ask her twice before getting a coffee refill. Maybe she was having an off day, idk. I ordered the Porter House steak and eggs, steak was terrible. It was like eating a piece of tire. Potatoes were ok, but everything else was just blah. Very first time to this place. I usually go to IHOP for pancakes with Dad every couple of weeks but after seeing the pictures on yelp we wanted to try this new place. The diner looks like straight out of a Tarantino film. Has a very kitschy feel to it, like a place stuck in a time warp. We ordered pancakes and they did not disappoint. They were fluffy, didn't get hard over time and grabbed on to the syrup and butter just right. I also ordered the chilaquiles rojos, which were a little too spicy for my taste but were good. This is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Bellflower. The service is the best I've ever had- it really feels like family. My husband and I have been coming here since we were dating, and now we live 2 blocks away & walk here a few times a month. With no appointments this morning I found myself with an hour to kill at 7am. Time for breakfast and coffee. I had not been here in like 7 yrs so it was nice to see that it was still owned by the same family. The deco was different, but that is expected. Jonathan was working and it was great to just chat with him learning about his family, and discussing the direction of the city that we both do business in. I had the basic eggs, sausage and French toast. Classic American fare. The eggs and sausage were as expected, great with ketchup and tabasco or tapatillo. The French toast was surprisingly good: perfectly moist center and a nice crispy shell, indicating a perfect blend of the egg wash and milk coating. Dusted with powdered sugar, this was like a breakfast dessert. Cost is good. What I would expect form his competition up the street. I love the mom and pop shops and I will be back. Jonathan and his parents are just great people that serve good food. Awesome community fixture. Come check them out if you are in the area. The tortillas were super soggy and the beans were soupy. It came with salsa that tasted decent and made the food edible but definitely would not recommend this dish.
