We had the best experience with our team Caine, Benjamin and Cooper in Chattanoog,TN. We had an unexpected quick turn around deadline by our buyer to be out of our house and they had our whole house in the truck ready to go well before the end of that deadline. They were all very kind professional and most importantly very fast while still giving great care for our items. They made sure we had everything settled into our new house put together our disassembled furtniture and made sure everything was in its place. WARNING..... Damages to your items are not covered as you would expect them to be. I have over $1,000.00 in damages to my massage chair, entry door, and door casing. I submitted photos & written estimates for repairs and was offered $150.00. I have called several times but cannot connect with my "customer care associate" (aka claims rep), I can only contact her (Jennifer P) via email. I was informed that Bellhops will only pay $0.60 per pound, per item - they state "this method of reimbursement is common within the moving industry" even with written estimates for repairs. I have requested my claim be escalated to a manager but as yet, no one has contacted me. My move took place in January 2023, so these events are current and ongoing. Additionally, when I booked my move, I also included an unload at my final destination. I had a 3 person crew scheduled but on the day of the unload, no one showed up. I spent over 1 hour on the phone (multiple phone calls) with the move coordinator only for him to tell me "they had 1 guy call off and the other 2 don't think they can unload your treadmill by themselves because you had 3 guys to put it in the truck so they backed out of the move." SERIOUSLY? they didn't show up because the job was too difficult? Eventually 1 person did show up (1 hr, 45 mins later) and my sister, him and I unloaded the treadmill, he left after that; my sister and I unloaded the truck by ourselves. Needless to say.... My experience with Bellhop was drastically better than my experience with All My Sons movers in Atlanta. They were on time and the estimated duration was accurate. Robert Falden, Jeremy Knight, and Eli Baxter were all super professional and charismatic. They made a stressful day far less stressful. Our driver from Elite Freight Partners Inc was also 5 star quality. He even helped out with some of the boxes. If Bellhop is always anywhere near as good as my team was, I would definitely recommend Bellhop to anyone I know. read more

The abandoned boxes in the hallway resulted in a minimum of $400 in lost personal belongings which they don't care about. Bad customer service - do not recommend. Despite it being a pricier option, we booked Bellhop because they offered a socially distant move during Covid which was supposed to mean that the moving team wore masks and gloves. They did not wear any masks or gloves. The moving team also left our items unattended in the hallway near the elevator. Unsurprisingly, we ended up with missing boxes. The company wouldn't allow us to file a claim because we hadn't completely unpacked to notice the missing items within 5 days of moving. We had to be out of our house in the next 3 hours because we were closing. They didn't even tell their truck driver or one of their movers they canceled because they still showed up on time. Bellhop was the absolute worst moving experience. I typically move myself and decided this time to splurge a bit and make it easier on myself. The team members didn't wear masks the entire time and entered my apartment and spoke with me while massless and/or with masks below noses. On top of that, they broke several of my items. First, the leg of my TV stand, by putting all of the weight on the leg to set it down. Second, they cracked the top of my less-than-2-month-old 55" ULED TV, by stacking items on top of it (which seems to me like the most obvious no-no in Moving 101). I received an apology from corporate and $144 in compensation for both items, which is a fraction of their value. Their insurance is the bare minimum of $0.60/pound per damaged item, so high value electronics get basically no reimbursement. Bellhop's prices are competitive but for a reason. read more

Would not recommend at all! They use contracted movers with questionable background check processes who move slower than molasses in the winter. It took them almost 4 hours to move my 1 bedroom apt. a total of 7 miles down the road. Also, it was a first floor to first floor move; no stairs. The driver "got lost" for an additional 45 mins which I had to spend an hour on hold with the 800# to get that time credited back to me. Lastly, they do not use furniture pads or proper protection to ensure furniture is safe. Thankfully nothing was damaged, but it felt very nerve-wracking watching them load my things into the truck unpadded. NO! NO! NO! Just simply called them to move one storage unit to another - they wanted a credit card to book and "save" the day... BEFORE giving me a final quote - are you serious? So to move from one smaller storage unit into a larger storage unit on the same floor right down the hall I was quoted 4 men @ $139 hour for 6 hours at $1,074!!!!! What in the world are they thinking? It is literally a two hour job at best case scenario roughly an hour... So without even scheduling the time to look at the job or even see photos - they wanted me to plop down a credit card to hold the move date. Ah... for a $1000 PLUS 20% tip for the movers ($1,200) - I'm either going to hire someone else for a fourth of that price or just do it myself. Task Rabbit has movers at $30/hour - I could pay for 40 hours for $1,200! No, no, no, this is not a professional moving company, they are professionally fleecing money from unsuspecting victims. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Pros: Movers were nice lads, young but inexperienced. They arrived pretty much on time and started looking around at the load. The first hour was great, up and down the stairs like nobody's business. Cons: Soon after the first hour, the frequency of movers entering the apartment to collect boxes slowed way down... Each time I left to check on them or drop something off at my car, I would see the 'captain' on their phone (which would immediately go back in their pocket once he saw me) or even chatting to my neighbor who was fixing their car next to the moving truck. Just before we set off from location A, the 'captain' informed me that we would no longer have time to collect my bed and table from the storage unit around the corner, however he and a friend would happily come back later that day at a cheaper rate to help me move the rest of my stuff... This was not great to hear after he had been in first gear the whole morning anyway! The slow move was actually the least taxing part of the whole experience. Upon receiving my bill from Bellhops, my 3-hour move (this is how long it took me and my friend to move into the place, I even checked the Home Depot van rental receipt to be sure) had turned into a 5.5-hour move because of how slow and unorganized the movers had been at the first location. Upon speaking with customer services and manager "Nathan", I was told that the move took so long because of the 35-yard walk from the loading bay to the elevator at Location B. There was nothing they could do except offer a measly $33 discount to my $675 bill. When I questioned the professionalism and ethical code he and the company upheld, he had no answer other than what roughly translated to "Tough sh*t we already have your money now - peace out" There are hundreds of other options I would use before using these crooks, explore other options and if these guys are indeed your only option, do it yourself (otherwise you will have to anyway to save your bill reaching $1000) read more

Sadly, I chose them again last weekend and received extremely short notice (just a few hours) that the crew wasn't going to make it (some didn't show up for their first job that morning apparently). I am still exhausted from my move when I expected to have plenty of help. They offered to reschedule for a very tiny discount and I was appalled. I feel like most people using their service have rented moving trucks and supplies for that particular day and cannot really undo these things last minute. Here are some of the problems 1. They assured me they would move my furniture including beds and bookcases. They showed up with a small uhauk instead of the large truck that was contacted so they had to make two trips. Instead of finishing at 1130-12, the second trip took them until 245 so the job lasted 3 hours longer than quoted and needed 4. The movers were young college age kids who told me they just pick up jobs here and there to make money. They were careless and incapable of moving certain items 5. They were careless and damaged both furniture and doorways. 6. They were in a huge rush they left boxes and furniture in the garage rather than moving it where it belonged. 7. Beware. This is not a local business, but a middleman that connects independent movers with customers. Nothing wrong with that in principle, but there are unadvertised risks. I scheduled my move with Bellhop with ample time before my move-out date. On the day of the move Bellhop called to say my movers had vehicle troubles and would not be able to show. This was an hour-and-a-half before my reservation! They offered two workarounds, neither acceptable. I could go rent my own truck (deducted from invoice and inconvenience discount applied) - but this didn't work for me. My day prior to the move was already committed. The second option was to reschedule my move till the first week of the next month - 5 days after my move-out deadline. This was a ludicrous proposal. You schedule a move before your move-out date in order to not owe additional rent at the place you're leaving! I've moved many times. Have had movers experience vehicle deliveries. Know what they did? Rented a backup vehicle themselves. They didn't make their inadequacies the customer's problem. Fortunately I was able to find an actual local mover who'd had a cancellation, and my move is taking place only one day later, ahead of moving deadline. Conclusion - DO hire a local mover who's actually in the moving business and has the track record to prove it. DON'T hire Bellhop, or any other virtual middleman. read more

I've never moved apartments by myself before and was a little nervous about the whole experience but Bellhops made it easy and stress-free. Being able to book online was a big plus for me. I had an appointment at 8 A.M. this morning and Jai, my lead bellhop called me around 7:30 to say that there was a miscommunication and moving truck driver would be a little late. Everything was cool. I really appreciate the communication. They started moving around 8:20. Some moving companies are very relaxed and don't really seem to be in a hurry to get the job done. That isn't the case here. These employees came to work and I really felt like a priority. If you're looking for a fantastic excuse to go out and buy new furniture, please use Bellhops on your next move! After making my reservation about a month in advance and calling to confirm the details of my move 3 times, the driver was still 45 minutes late and only 2 of the 3 movers showed up. I live in a one-bedroom apartment that's about 880 square feet and not a lot of junk. Even though my entire apartment was packed 2 days before the move, it took them over FIVE hours to move me from the 2nd floor to the 4th floor IN THE SAME APARTMENT COMPLEX. The movers were less than efficient and constantly took breaks in their car and stopped moving to text or talk on their phone. When the 3rd mover finally showed up at around noon, one of the original 2 disappeared and I didn't see him again until the end of the move. After my sofa and dining table were brought up, I noticed severe damage to both - deep scratches on the table where they forced it through the door and black marks and tears all over my beige sofa. I immediately called Bellhops and told them my concerns. However, it was more important for them to review my charges and explain why I was being billed about $800 for 3 movers for over 5 hours. They adjusted a few charges and gave a "courtesy credit" of about $70. I later received the claims form where I was told they would cover only $0.70 per pound for the items damaged and it was up to me to figure out how much everything weighed. Not sure how a sofa and table that I bought less than a year ago for over $2K adds up to $0.70 a pound But the process was quick and I received a credit right away. However, $213 is definitely not even enough to cover the cleaning of the sofa much less to repair the table. Unfortunately, I agreed to this when I accepted the service terms - which I never really read and totally falls on me to be honest. On the bright side, I work in hospitality and deal with relocation questions for team members on a weekly basis. We booked just labor and rented a UHaul, which probably ended up being close to what we would have paid getting a truck with Bellhops too (will consider this next time). They made the process so painless and easy, all we had to do was tell them where things should go! I reserved Bellhop for a move a month early for a local move less than 10 miles away. I have moved 7 times in 4 years bec of my job, so I know what to expect and I certainly know how to pack wisely. To start my move, only one person showed up. It took over an hour for the second person to show up. Bec the first person carried a box to truck, bellhop started the time. He was on and off the phone on hold numerous times over the next hour. When second person showed, he was far more focused on the girl he was talking about and friends going out partying than focusing on what he was doing. When someone is constantly talking nonstop it's distracting and certainly not concentrating on what they're doing Taking one box at a time.over 3 hours to bring a one bedroom and office to truck. I walked down to truck after a 3rd person showed up after not seeing the other two for quite a while. When I looked into truck I realized my furniture was not wrapt in any blankets. Who puts antique furniture in a truck without protecting it? I was not happy seeing it. I had to tell them just because I had a cloth, that I personally put on my furniture did not mean that the furniture did not have to be wrapped. They had to stop, take things out of the truck, pull the furniture, wrap it, put the stuff back in all along I'm being charged. By the time they finally got the truck loaded, the truck would not start. Over an hour and half later, the truck finally arrived at my new location by then the third person that had showed had to leave. Now I'm back to the two guys all along getting charged. My move has never taken over four hours, I was charged from start of picking up a box until the time they finally left some eight hours later my charges went from $680 to over $1450. I also had two pieces of furniture damaged. I pointed out what I saw at the time to the lead mover, I sent him a text to confirm he had reported the issue. He responded to say he was on hold again to speak to someone and I never heard a word after. Good luck with your move. I did research movers before this hire. My Bellhop experience wasn't quite as seamless as I would have liked due to issues with missing supplies and mistakes / lack of communication with my moving coordinator (she went dark on me when I kept reaching out to resolve them), but I do want to say the absolute bright spot of the experience was working with Scott Redfield, my logistics sales specialist. Whenever I had an issue or concern, I could reach out to Scott, and he'd respond within hours. He is AMAZING!! An absolute gem of a professional and a total rockstar for ensuring resolution on things that fell far outside his area of responsibility. When my moving coordinator stopped responding, Scott picked up the baton and took care of everything for me. Thank you so much, Scott!! Moving is such a ridiculously stressful time as it is, and everyone needs a Scott in their corner. The movers were a few hours late, trying their best, lost crew members and were clearly struggling with poor support from their company (Bellhop). The driver was amazing but no one let him know movers were late, nor what time to show up with my truck and I spent time explaining the schedule and details that Bellhop should have done. Since the movers were late, they were down a few crew members and only 3 showed up not the 6 the salesperson promised on the phone. They didn't wrap any of my furniture as requested, nor did they pack the truck that well and managed to ding or damage nearly all of my furniture either loading into the truck or on the ride as even though I requested covering it all and using blankets they did not always oblige. I ended having to help them, they were frustrated and felt mistreated by the company and morale was LOW. All this translated to them doing the fastest job they could that resulted in ruining my antique furniture and much more. None of the employees wore masks either. It was SUPER disappointing and I would NEVER hire this company again. They mistreat their workers who then pass along the lack of training and compensation when handling all of your prized possessions. Plus they are paying the driver/movers peanuts and charged me 3x the amount they paid out. TOTAL RIPOFF! We had a small incident where an item was broken. I was then assured Bellhop would 'take care of me'... that's where things went south. One of the movers left halfway into the job because he borrowed his mom's car to get to the job and she needed it back. That left one mover to move everything for about three hours. I called the company for them to send someone else, they sent him, and then he left 30 minutes later. He eventually came back and the two of them finished the move. EIGHT HOURS and $1,400 for a one bedroom apartment. Did I mention that I moved less than one mile away? Truly ridiculous. They also broke the elevator. Around 9.20AM I received a call from Bellhops Customer Service and they said truck is late and they are trying to get in touch with the driver. Around 10:00AM she called me back and said they can try reschedule for 3PM-6PM but unsure if they will find a spot. WTF? I AM MOVING, NOT TRYING TO GET A HAIRCUT... I am never going recommend this company to anyone and I hope they will fire this driver who did not show up... or maybe they just overbooked something on their end... It's sooooo hard to rate this move because the movers were GREAT. Well mannered, team players, and worked swiftly with each other. Besides one guy dropping my $420 floor lamp it still managed to turn on, however i noticed it was not unaligned with the other arms kind of slanted and loose that's just the start unfortunately! They arrived on time and immediately started working I can add that as well. 2nd problem I had 4 TVs and personally DIDNT like how they handled them nevertheless one tv was damaged 65" ($1,499) the way they piled everything up I CANT get to the other TVs to check. I had 4 so hoping no other ones are damage. 3rd bench was wet, muddy and missing a stud they didn't shrink the velvet material but shrieked the bench seat because it opens up . 4th my kids dresser was damaged on every corner literally. The shrink wrap still covered/covers Everywhere but the corners definitely indicating it was the move etc that damaged the dresser ($559). I still haven't removed the shrink to back up my proof. Lastly (hopefully still 2 days to review items) the assembly of my bed ‍! I loved them up until the bed assembl, the bed they literally did a quick & shitty job. DIDNT hook the latches & screws. DIDNT add all slates ended up denting in the mattress once sat on. This bed is expensive ($1,850) two guys even stated it and STILL damaged it. The bed Tv and dresser are what made me hate the experience with Bellhop despite the damages the movers were still great and I don't know how I can say that with damages ‍. Ok we got the Moving team and experience out the way let's get into Bellhops Customer Service . Ok where do I starttttt the company booked them because they end up being the cheapest (so we thought until bill came and extra charges). They gave us a flat rate $568 all included. The day before the move called and stated only a 16ft truck was available but my move consisted of a 26ft truck. Wanted to come move big things and return tomorrow to move remaining . I disagreed and stated one day was better let's do it the day after so truck was availabl. I was told they wouldn't have movers the next day but in the same breathe wanted to break the move down for 2 days.?! So how was the movers going to arrive for the 2nd day once they wanted to split the days for their sake if there were no movers?! DIDNT make sense AT ALL.!! I declined that brilliant idea and stated to reschedule a day in which they had the correct truck that would complete the job as we were paying for! Here's the killer I was charged $50 for a rescheduling fee in which they had to do because they weren't ready with a 26ft truck. RIGHTTTT.?! Ok in closing the move went longer then expected and don't know why with 4 movers and a driver (so 5 movers). The hours 2-5:30. So from $568 to $617 ($50 fee) was confirmation. After the move I log in the dashboard cost is $1,441 . So I call and ask why they stated "oh we're sorry we accidentally overcharged by a hour or two. HUHHH.? It decreased to $1,1?? (Cant remember) after adjusting . After discovering damages call and they adjustEd again to only $917. I then notice a $50 reschedule fee so I call and state hey why was I charged a reschedule fee ($50) when I was forced due to reschedule for you guys not having my truck accounted for after confirming. Ok after that agreed it was their fault bill was adjusted to $867. So yeah more damages on one of my items were more then the entire move ‍. It's no way i should be charged one red cent!! Sidebar upon unpacking and writing this review I opened a bag in which they placed my vase inside (not shrink wrapped like almost everything else) broken . Yeah so this was my experience so do what you want with this information just don't judge me for my run on sentence (I'm agg by this experienc). i was sent a claim form and will fill it after unpacking everything just to make sure NOTHING else is damaged. I unfortunately have to wait to see what will happen after claim. We chose Bellhop for cheaper rates and reviews on google (didn't check YELP) ‍ . Worst moving and customer service experience. You get what you pay for, so don't skimp by using this very unprofessional company - especially if the sum of your items total more than $2000 to replace. Let me preface this review by saying this: I give every company 2 chances before making a judgement call on their quality of service, and I always reach out to the company to give them a chance to make it right. As an owner of a business, I understand how these reviews can negatively impact a business. Personally, I create a space where my clients feel comfortable addressing any issues (which are minimal) so that I have an opportunity to make it right - hence the 5 star rating after 10 years of business. I booked 2 moves within one month. The first move was from my apartment and condo to a storage unit. The movers (very friendly - wish I could give more stars just for that) didn't bring adequate padding or packing materials to safely move my furniture. I stopped them on a few occasions having to direct them on how to properly care for my things. They obliged, but did admit that they were not prepared - blamed it on the driver of the truck for not bringing enough pads. Most of my items had already been put into storage by this point I found out they didn't have enough supplies. I let the customer service know that my items are most likely damaged due to the lack of care in padding my furniture for travel. They said I needed to fill out a claims form at that time...but my things were in storage. Did they want me to remove everything and take photos? Yes. That's exactly what I should have done. Second move - was hoping it would go better this time. Only one mover showed up. He moved as much as he could solo for the first 2 hours until Bellhops could get a second person on site. I literally only had a 10x10 storage unit and only a few large pieces. This move should have taken no longer than 2.5 hours at most. The move took just under 4 hours, and I was charged the one man rate for 2 hours and the 2 man rate for the last 1.75 hours. Customer Service did give me a discount on this, but still I have to pay for 3.75 hours instead of 2.5... Truly, the money isn't the issue, but the lack of care taken with my items the first and second move is the issue which makes paying for almost 4 hours piss me off. The truck they had also had a hole in it's roof, and a nice waterfall from the rain fell onto my new mattress and mattress pad. The movers said they sent the video to HQ - we'll see if they reimburse. They are only responsible for up to $2000 in reimbursements, so I'll be out of pocket repairing and replacing several of these items as they are not inexpensive items to replace. read more
