Been going here for a few years now....love my stylist Lindsey. She is great and never disappoints. She is always on time and doesn't ever start or finish other people's hair while in the process of doing mine which is always a big pet peeve of mine. All the girls here have been friendly and the receptionist always offers me a beverage and even a snack sometimes. A man comes by and sells flowers, fruit, and mexican food and is always a bonus if my appt falls during this time. Also...Kelly who does my brows rocks! I have been coming to Rosa Sanchez for over 7 years now! She does my tape-in extensions and nails it every time! When I tell people that I have extensions they are always shocked. I used to use clip-ins prior to coming here and have not looked back ever since. She uses only the best products and is knowledgeable in many different types of extensions (I prefer the tape-ins). I am in between in my review. I am new to Oxnard so I am trying to find a new salon for my difficult hair. I wen to Rosa at this salon. She did my blow dry and deep conditioning great! I went in for a color touch up and that's were I am a bit disappointed. She looked at my hair and proceeded to walk away to grab some color before consulting with me. When I spoke up and told her that my color had had a chocolate brown with some red highlights in it she seemed to understand. The inside of the salon was a bit dark to see my hair once it was done but when I got home and out into the light I noticed my hair looked more burgundy than anything. After 2 weeks now my hair looks dull, dark and the color is still washing out. The salon is very nice and Rosa was very nice as well, she did get my hair to curl nicely naturally after the color was done. She also accommodated me and my time availability by coming in early. But I can't say I was to pleased with my hair color service which unfortunately is very important and cost the most $$ from the 3 services I got there. read more

UPDATE! I first went to Rosa, who did a great job on my cut. Next time I went to Roxy for my color, who did a great job. My color has a tendency to fade, and it hast faded at all! Roxy was so nice and friendly, id go back to her just because she was so nice. In fact, everyone there is pretty nice. After having an interesting experience at another local salon, (see my other review) I trusted yelp once more to show me the way to another salon. I waited a few months before seeing Roxy, reluctant to have someone do my hair and hating the color. After talking to her on the phone before coming in, she suggested I bring a few magazine clippings on hair color that I wanted. (I probably brought in too many :) ) We probably spent 15/20 minutes discussing the right color for me, which I appreciated because I didn't feel rushed! Roxy made me feel comfortable and listened to me on all the things I didn't want with my hair (I'm sure I sounded very negative at the time!!) to ensure that I would get my point across, so I wouldn't have the same experience like I did at the other salon. Roxy got the color spot on- not too dark was an important factor for me! I have been going to her for the past 7 months or so and she has always nailed exactly what I wanted and her suggestions made me feel that she completely understands me! She has gradually taken me darker and also lighter and the color lasts! She is super sweet and seems to love what she does. My hair grows very SLOW and it's very curly and long so it takes a knowledgable and experienced stylist to work with my hair. My hair cut was pertty plain so I went to Rosa at Bellissima and she worked wonders! She gave me an awesome look with beautiful layering while keeping the length I requested. She wasn't 'scissor happy'. I've since gone back for another cut by Rosa and she was delightful and again gave me exactly what I wanted and more. I'm very satisfied with their custmer service, look of salon and friendly stylists. I'm happy to bring more business to this great salon. Great stylists are hard to find! My hairstylist, Marcie Venard, recently moved to this location, so I followed her. Marcie is the best colorist/stylist I've ever had, and I've been to Jose Eber on Rodeo. She keeps my hair healthy and beautiful (I know this as I get continual compliments on it) and has no problem with my long hair. I'm never afraid to ask for a certain color or cut as she can always do it. Seriously, she should be working on the stars in Hollywood. She also does great short styles. Marcie is reasonably priced and very personable; I always enjoy my visits with her...and her new salon seems comfortable and friendly. read more

Marcie Venard makes my long hair beautiful - she is an excellent colorist - I'm a musician and usually ask for something a bit complex - see photo captioned Marcie Venard - but she is excellent for conservative styles - regardless, the hair always comes out really lush and lovely. Although I have a lot of hair, Marcie is also really good with thin, fine hair. Her prices are reasonable, and she is also a fun, excellent person to hang out with for an hour or so. I have reviewed Bellissima once before, but I must come on to rave about Roxy once again. My cousin (who is 15) had about four colors going on with her hair, and was in desperate need of a hair cut. Since I love what Roxy does with my hair I went with my cousin to see Roxy, and see if Roxy could fix her hair that my cousin had messed up with box hair dye. My cousin had a vision of what she wanted to achieve with her hair, and Roxy spent a lot of time with her discussing the best options for her. Roxy recommended a few options for her, but steered her away from doing things that would have further ruined her hair, and caused severe damage. When she left she was very pleased with the outcome of her color and cut, and she will be going back to Roxy again in the future. Thanks Roxy! You are the best. read more

My hair stylist moved so I had to find a new one. My hair is very long and thick and i'm very picky with who touches my hair. I looked up online and found bellissima salon. This is where I met Nicole who was very nice. I brought in pictures and told her I was worried about getting my hair cut BUT she did it exactly the way I wanted and even curled it so that I could see my layers! AWESOME! I absolutely love this salon! I love that I can get waxing and skin care when I come in to get my hair done. My hairstylist Terri Taylor recently moved to this location. I used to think I had a good hair girl. She went out of town and I needed a trim and some highlights. Went to Terri on a referral from a friend. That was almost 5 years ago and I refuse to go anywhere else. She's always great with my color and even did a brazilian blowout for me. I'll have to admit, I hadn't had a "real" salon hair cut in over 10 years! Going to Belllissima after such a long break was an amazing experience. Rosa was my stylist and I would highly recommend her to everyone. She took time to ask questions about what I did and did not want then offered some suggestions on what she thought would work with my hair texture. The shampoo chair experience was fantastic!! Hadn't had that done in years either! All during the cut she kept explaining what she was doing and why. She told which products she was using as well. She also explained what other services she offered at the salon and made some suggestions on what she thought I would like but was never pushy about any of them. The blowout she gave me was also amazing!! She showed me some new techniques I could use at home to get similar results. I got so many compliments on my hair...which hasn't happened in a very long time. The thing that amazed me the most was how quick she worked. For being as thourough as she was it took about 45 minutes from beginning to end. I also highly recommend Kelly for waxing. So I've had Rosa Sanchez do my hair twice now, and she is AMAZING. First time I just had a hair cut & blow dry, and she taught me a lot about how to replicate the look at home. Super helpful, since I could never make it look as good at home as it did in the salon! Today I felt bold and asked Rosa to color my naturally blonde hair and turn it into auburn or red. Brought in photos and she NAILED it!!! My color is fantastic- just right for my skin tone. Walked out feeling like a million bucks-- just like I did last time. read more

I have been going to Brianne for my hair for many years now. Her salon is located in Ventura and I live all the way out in Moorpark....and I always tell myself I need to find a more local salon so I don't have to drive hours for my hair...but I can not find someone as good as Bri. Before I met her I changed stylist probably every year, never content with my hair. Every single time she does my hair I feel amazing and it lasts for months. Other places seem to only cut a very small amount off or go crazy to where you hate your hair. Terri has been my stylist for several months now. She just relocated to this salon a month ago and I went in to see her today for a cut and color. She is awesome when it comes to finding the right color for you. I highly recommend her! The salon is so relaxing and designed beautifully. I wasn't expecting the wash out sinks to be so comfortable. Just left my appointment with Marcie V. at Bellissima and I feel GREAT! Marcie is the most lovely woman to spend an hour with...she pampers your hair, your brows and your soul. I had a horrible experience at this salon. I asked for a corrective coloring and ended up with Tiger stripped hair. My hair was black when I came in and I left with a lighter brown color and orange highlights that were not blended. Also, my roots were bleached out about a half of an inch. It was obvious that I was very unhappy with the results; however, I was only compensated for toner that was used. I was later told that I could come back and have it corrected, however, my money would not be reimbursed and I might have to pay for the correction. For the amount of money I paid and not to mention the time I spent in the salon (5 hours), I expected a lot more. I appreciated the apology but it did not make up for my experience. I will never go back to this salon and would not recommend it to anyone. There is a serious lack in customer service and it is simply not acceptable. I wish I could attach a photo of the end result. In response to the below comment: I went to another salon (Michael Kelley Salon) the next day for them to correct the mistakes that were made and they said that the process Bellissima used was incorrect. Also, the stylist asked me if I got a haircut (which I did) and said that my hair was cut very unevenly so she had to correct that as well. I do understand the "process" which I told the stylist many, many times. In retrospect, she should have been honest with me and told me that she could not do what I was looking for. And seeing how upset I was before leaving the salon, she should not have charged me. Its customer service 101. The stylist at the Michael Kelley Salon was able to give me the exact look I had originally asked for and she did an amazing job! Unfortunately, the damage to my hair was already done the previous day. I am not upset with the stylist because everyone makes mistakes, however, I am upset with how the situtation was handled and how I was treated. read more

I am new to the Ventura area so I searched online for a hair salon. I have super long, thick hair and was nervous about having somebody cut it. I've been to a lot of people that don't know what they're doing. I think my stylist's name was Bri and she was really nice. She did an awesome job and the layers turned out really well. Everyone else in the salon was friendly and the comment below about the wash chairs being awful...she's wrong. They're actually really nice because they support your back and head well.
