Thank gd for family owned shops. I was stressed and in a crunch for wifi to get on a super important work call. I didn't have time to order anything before getting on the call and the people here were gracious enough to let me stay to do my thing. Simply for this fact I will be back often and to try all their delicious looking items! Great space for nosh and laptops. Coffee was a little too dark. I normally don't need cream or sugar but this was a bitter black coffee. The last sip was a mouthful of grounds. I think they are probably putting too much in the filter, making it bitter and overflowing with grounds. The cashier and other lady working there were very nice though. read more

Such a cute cafe!! If i could give this place more than 5 stars I would. I felt relaxed as soon as I entered, as there was nice jazz music playing. I got my bagel really quickly, within a few minutes, and it was delicious! The chai latte was wonderful as well. The prices are also very reasonable. There's an upstairs area with tables where you can work. Would definitely come back here! read more

Really nice service. Great space for doing work. Lots of lovely natural light. Solid food and drink options. Matcha was maybe too milky and the egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich could use more seasoning or a sauce. Nice to see brioche as a bread option. Will hopefully be back soon! read more

The cafe is a cute neighborhood cafe I go to when I need to get some work done. It has WiFi and outlets and ample seating! The only reason I am giving a 4 star is that the drinks are not that great. I think that you are paying to use their WiFi rather than their drinks. But the workers were friendly and the drinks came out quick! read more

I had to find somewhere to wait in between appointments, and this was the perfect spot. When I arrived around 9:30 there were a lot of seats but it was full by 10:30. There's WiFi and outlets, and an overall cozy atmosphere. I ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich. I loved the sandwich. It's straight up luxurious, how eggy it tasted, and it was so warm and soft. The brioche bun is a genius move. Some might say that it needs more salt but I liked the lightness of the flavor. I only had about half the coffee because I was WIRED. They even bring you your food (props to the guy who has to keep climbing the stairs)! read more

Quick and Kind service when you walk in with a great selection of drinks, bagels, sandwiches, and baked goods. Went here after the Divisadero Farmers Market, and got a double espresso and dirty chai latte ~ $10 all together. The chai was soo good, perfectly sweet, and filled with spices. There is seating upstairs with lots of outlets and perfect for working/studying. Calm cozy environment at a great location. read more

the lox bagel was incredible! the perfect proportions of everything. the cream cheese was also delightful and not too much! the everything bagel was perfectly toasted and still soft. i will dream of this bagel! also, the chai latte (unpictured) was so creamy and delicious! tasted like a cozy holiday evening. the cafe has a decent amount of seating on two floors and is very cute. service is standard, it took about 15 minutes to get my order which is a bit on the longer side but all good. overall, highly recommend and can't wait to come back! read more

SO glad I checked out this spot. Needed a place to grab a bite and get some work done. It was a quiet Wednesday morning, but the upstairs seating was already full. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was good: eggs very fluffy, great aioli, plenty of cheese, and well cooked salmon. Some people took video calls while working, but didn't disrupt the overall volume. If you need to work/read/write and enjoy good service + plenty of light, I recommend this cafe. read more

I came to this cafe because online it described it as a good spot to do work. I ordered a cappuccino and an egg sandwich and I was given a number to put on my table. I sat and started working right away. It took over 20 minutes to get my sandwich and a few more minutes to get my drink. The sandwich was so BLAND! The brioche fell apart and I only had a couple of bites; it was that blah/ flavorless. Coffee was ok; overall not worth the trip I took over here to work. Overall disappointing. read more

Me and two friends went to Beluna on a Friday to get some computer work done outside of the house on a WFH day. We got there around 8am when they opened and they had plenty of seating but it did fill up quickly. They have a whole second floor with additional tables/outlets/free WiFi which was awesome. We worked here from 8 am - 2 pm because the vibes were great and we were super productive. I love all the natural light that comes in through the big windows. The service was great and that extra step of bringing drinks and food to you was really thoughtful. I ordered the lemon poppyseed loaf and an iced vanilla latte in the morning. Later on I got a cream cheese, sun-dried tomato, cucumber, onion bagel. The latte was just okay, but the bagel was delicious and my favorite thing I ordered! Cozy place to study! I spent around 4 hours in this cafe doing my final and I ordered a Geli sandwich and a strawberry smoothie. The strawberry smoothie was a bit pricy but it was pretty good. The Geli sandwich was awesome, I really liked it. I took a seat in the upper level and they brought my food up to me which was pretty convenient. It's an awesome place to study but the seats do fill up fast so keep that in mind. read more

Came for our mid-afternoon caffeine fix. Staff was warm and friendly. We had both hot and iced lattes. Both were fantastic! There was seating on two levels. We chose to sit upstairs. It's a great place to met for coffee, study, work remotely, or just hang out. Great location by the panhandle. Definitely will be back. read more

I visited Beluna Cafe for the first time in the Spring last year for coffee only, and I revisited to try some of the food. The orange loaf cake was dense and delicious, and hit the spot with a cup of coffee and bagel sandwich for a few hours of studying at this coffee spot. I enjoyed the ambiance of this coffee shop, and they have chargers, wifi, and a decent amount of tables upstairs. This is a great place to settle in and get some work done. I wandered into Beluna Cafe on a Friday morning hungry and tired, as all the other coffee shops and cafes I passed along the way were packed to the brim. Interior is bright and clean, and the staff were really friendly. There is a ton of seating available, and they also had an upstairs seating area! They had a selection of pastries at the counter, along with some made-to-order items and drinks on their menu. They also have a specials menu, from which I ordered the egg and cheese croissant. After ordering, I took a seat and waited a few minutes for my order. One of the staff members brought it to me at my table - which I thought was really nice, as most other places call you up to the counter to pick up your order. The croissant itself was perfectly buttery and soft, and the eggs were fluffy. I wish there was more cheese, but the croissant sandwich as a whole was really yummy. I definitely recommend you stop by Beluna Cafe to get some well-needed rest and power-up from the hustle and bustle of Divisadero St.! read more

The coffee was okay, and ambiance was fine, but if you are going to see a friendly face greet you when you enter, today was not your day to go. I started talking to the owner, Bee, when I began painting as I loved her paintings showing in the cafe. She was one of the first people to encourage me and as I got more of a body of work she let me feature my art in her space. It's a joy to see people working and having great conversations next to my art upstairs. I saw the scones recommended here and they are outstanding. I usually have a mocha with whipped cream. So glad Beluna is here as it adds a lot to the community. Bee seems to know many of the people visiting and the spot seems to attract a wide range of people. read more

This cafe is such a neighborhood gem! The inside is bright, clean and with two levels, it is the perfect spot to meet with friends, work outside of the house or have just a quiet meal alone. We were greeted by Betel with a smile and there is something for everyone on the menu. We ordered the veggie and caprese sandwiches and were not disappointed. Love that this is a new spacious coffee shop in the neighborhood. Very kind, friendly people. Much more mellow than other hectic and crowded coffee shops, which is nice. Plenty of seating for people eating in or staying awhile to do work. Food quality is has been only alright in my experiences... the BLT I had today was 90% bread (small slice even) and mayo. Just a thin slice of bacon which was barely noticeable. I was still hungry afterwards. Wouldn't order it again. Hoping that they can consider feedback as they continue to grow. read more

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.

The name couldn't have been more fitting, as a large Hello Kitty figurine wearing her signature pink bow stood proudly across the room. As you might expect, just about everything was pink: the door, walls, chairs, menus, napkins, and even the Christmas tree, since our visit was during the holiday season. In the spirit of Hello Kitty, I just happened to be wearing a splash of pink myself. The tea menu featured a variety of black, green, and caffeine-free teas in an assortment of flavors. I chose the Hibiscus Cooler, a refreshing green tea that I enjoyed. We were then served fresh strawberries with cocoa cream, a light and pleasantly balanced start that wasn't overly sweet. The afternoon tea was presented on a tiered server with both savory and sweet selections. The savory selections included a cucumber sandwich, egg salad sandwich, beet hummus pita, and a chicken salad croissant. The sweet offerings featured a seasonal scone, Hello Kitty mini cake, raspberry macaron, strawberry shortcake, and an apple pie tart. Every item was well prepared, and we enjoyed the entire selection. Did we enjoy our afternoon tea? Absolutely. Would we return? Probably not for afternoon tea, but perhaps for their à la carte dessert selections. It was a fun experience to share and one we're glad we tried. However, at $70 per adult, it's priced similarly to the world-famous afternoon tea at The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, an experience we found to be truly extraordinary. There, we appreciated the timeless elegance and traditional presentation. By comparison, Hello Kitty Café offers a more modern, whimsical, and energetic atmosphere with loud background music. If you're a devoted Hello Kitty fan, this is definitely an experience worth having at least once.

Glad we did it. It's a good place for a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, and potatoes and good espresso drinks. Although we did not try it, I am sure their bacon is probably pretty good as well. The eggs came nice and fluffy, the toast is a relatively thick-sliced sourdough, and already buttered, and the potatoes were cooked to the point where they are soft inside and firm outside and nicely salted (prepped elsewhere?). They have a few outside tables, but I wanted to sit inside so we did. You walk up to the counter and place your order and pay and they give you a little number to put on your table. The food is brought to you at the table and when you have finished, you bus your table. This got me thinking about tipping. In this context 15% or 20% is probably inappropriate. First, they don't show you an itemized bill so you can't even see whether you're being asked to tip on the tax (which tip on tax, do you tip the IRS?). Then, since what service you receive is obviously less than what you receive at a full service restaurant with similar prices that's another point. Finally, we now have Living wage laws that apply to restaurant workers and the point of tipping was because in the old days serving people were not even paid a wage, and then their minimum wage was something like only 20% of the actual minimum wage. You'll have to make your own decision, but I'm going to start thinking about this a little hard harder and be more discerning. In addition to our eggs and cappuccino and Cortado (a great Cortado I might add) we got one of the cinnamon raisin pecan rolls to go. I look forward to coming back with our friends who live nearby. Also, there is a neighborhood grocery store with a nice selection next door so you can pick something up for a picnic in the park if you want.

I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

Finally decided to try a lunch from here but nothing stood out to me like the one from the B patisserie lunch menu. I ordered the pork belly banh mi. It was the fastest banh mi I ever received, quicker than Vietnamese places. Right then, I already knew not to have my hopes up for a delicious Vietnamese sandwich. As expected, my banh mi was tiny and the bread was not toasted. The guy literally just stuffed the bread and gave me the banh mi. It was missing the pate (legit Vietnamese style banh mi) and slapped on with what tasted like sweet mayo. The carrots were drowned in vinegar so I could taste the acidic component to it. There were only a few pieces of pork belly like a beginner making the Chinese bbq pork aka cha siu. For almost $14 (double the price of most regular Vietnamese banh mi in the city), this was a great disappointment! Definitely would not recommend the banh mi here! However, I would recommend the mushroom cheese panini at B patisserie. I paid $14 a few times for that one because it was tasty. Service here was quick since there were barely any customers. The cafe was relevantly empty and quiet. Not my type of cafe. Most likely would not return.
