I want to update my review, that I originally wrote about this bakery/café, a little over five years ago as this establishment has expanded in a very good way. Initially, they had a very limited menu, mostly offering bakery items along with a few drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and the like. Now, they offer a very extensive menu that is all prepared very-very well. Initially, they just had the one storefront where they had a few tables, as well as tables out on the sidewalk. Since my initial review, they've expanded into a second storefront a few years ago, which really expanded their space. Now, they still have their main area, as well as their sidewalk seating, but they also have a very nice dining room attached to the main bakery area. In terms of their food, as mentioned, they have really expand their menu. The food here is all made with excellent ingredients and comes with a very nice presentation. But, more than that, it's all really-really good. There's a lot of choices to be made here, and with each of them you come away with a very tasty menu item. Again, the food here is really good. Overall, this is still a great place to grab your to-go items, your Door Dash items, or to sit back and truly enjoy your meal. They always have some nice music playing over the sound system, and you can sit back with your friends, family, or just by yourself, (maybe get some work done in your laptop), and just enjoy the day in association with a great meal and/or drink. We had a mushroom omelette which came with sautéed potatoes and a small serve of fresh fruit - YAY for no grapes! The one criticism is the coffee is just ok and nothing to brag about. It is a bit noisy but that is to be expected when you have very large windows and are located on a major road. The cappuccino was very rich and the velvety microfoam was perfect. The breakfast croissant was good and light. Although important to note that the croissant didn't taste freshly baked and are less flaky than others you can find around the area. You order at counter, receive a number, and food will be delivered to your table. They have a panini maker in the front and a kitchen towards the side so some items are made to order. The quiches are on display and some wraps so I believe those are pre-made. However, they do provide yummy side salad to make the presentation nice. Stopped in while walking around the city because I was desperate for a sandwich. To me the decor came across as rustic but very much a sandwich shop. There is a good amount of seating and you can order to go or for a sit down meal. I got a turkey and cheese panini and it came with a side salad - simple but perfect. I ate half and was able to wrap up and take the rest with me, which came in perfectly as a nice handheld snack while I walked around the city. The staff were pleasant. I went there yesterday morning due to all the good reviews. Needless to say this was the worst eat in SF and what a waste of time too!! Both of us ordered and they completely forgot my husband's order. I got the tomato soup and the scrambled egg and avocado with two lattes and the bill was a whopping $48.35!! We thought that was the price for three dishes!! The tomato soup came with cheese sandwich and the soup was awful! I tasted a couple of bites and I couldn't eat anymore. It wasn't creamy and tasted like dishwater with some tomato essence!! I can't believe they make that and people actually eat it!! I promptly gave them back the whole meal!! The eggs and avocado was much much better than the tomato soup but the prices were so high it definitely wasn't worth the price they charge!! The lady at the counter told us she couldn't give me a refund for the soup since she doesn't own the place!! This was supposed to be a mom and pop place. Where are the owners? It looked like they have hired people to work for them and it shows!! They should have put in place on what to do if a customer hated the food!! I brought the fruit salad home and had that for my dinner dessert (blueberries, pineapple chunks, honeydew, and strawberries). This is a convenient and good change of pace brunch/lunch spot in the neighborhood as there aren't many American breakfast spots nearby. Came here for breakfast, on a recommendation by the front desk at the nearby Hilton San Francisco, where I stayed the night. There is outdoor seating (with a bus stop just there) and indoor tables and chairs. I opted for the latter seating arrangement. Having perused the menu before getting here, I was planning on getting the Quiche. After taking a look at the printed menu on premises, I decided otherwise and chose the Spinach and Gruyère Omelette. It came with potatoes and a small bowl of mixed fruit. The omelette was slightly overdone, but delicious. The rosemary potatoes were cooked perfectly and the fruit bowl had a good assortment. The coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice was good. Service though, was not accommodating. For some reason, it bothered the server each time I asked for more napkins (my nose was running and I requested only twice). There was attitude on display and it was like she was doing me a big favor to give me another two of them. French toast is all about the thick bread, but the bread they used was way too thin (about a cm thick) that it made the toast look like a pancake instead. Walked by for a sandwich to go while ambling around SF yesterday. Got a panini to go, staff was friendly, got that panini heated and pressed. While I was waiting a woman came in a bit panicked, she left her bag there earlier, but the staff had it behind the counter, which is great karma points. I was craving a burger and I had low expectations for one from a bakery/cafe, but the burger was so good! The bread is probably the softest I'd ever had on a burger, yet it was sturdy enough to not get soggy holding up so many ingredients. Really amazing food, I got the quiche and they made it fresh and it was delicious. All food seems fresh made and tastes very good. The only issue is I ordered a cappuccino and it was so hot that it gave me a second degree burn!!! It's been a week and it still hurts, is blistered, and I can't taste anything. Worst mouth burn of my life. I waited a few minutes before drinking it too. I did end up finishing it once it was cold and it was a very tasty cappuccino. We had brunch here the day before Christmas and absolutely loved this cafe. It's so cute, with tables available both inside and outside, including indoor nook seating along the windows looking out on Columbus Avenue. The workers were all very friendly and helpful during our visit, from taking our order at the counter to serving us our food and drinks at our table, and giving us everything we needed to make for a pleasant experience. And the place was not busy at all on this particular Saturday, so there was hardly a wait for anything. We couldn't resist trying the strawberry lemonade they had freshly made along with other juices at the counter ready to go. But I also had an iced mocha beverage and it was cold and creamy with enough chocolate flavor to satisfy my taste buds. To eat, we had the Brioche French Toast, and Fine Herbs Omelet with chicken apple sausage, which arrived quickly at our table with great presentation and filling portions that were just right, and even better taste. Fresh fruit, delicious ingredients, a nice char on the oven roasted potatoes. Simple meals, but so perfect in a great breakfast/lunch setting in the city. My partner and I went a bit meat heavy now looking back and probably the reason for why it was a bit of a miss for us. Meat was very well seasoned and flavorful but missing that grill/char flavor. I visited Brioche Bakery & Cafe on Sunday, 01/07/24, in the afternoon. I was greeted with a warm welcome and a big smile by a staff member upon entering the cafe. On my visit, I decided to order the Spinach Lasagna. The taste of the lasagna was truly delicious. I loved how it came with a side of salad, which was unexpected. The salad was even good.
