We saw all these Gen Z kiddos coming in, so knew it was going to be very aesthetic and popular. The menu grabbed us both, they had all these creative teas from pineapple tea to pistachio latte. I went with an iced matcha which was delicious. Coloring was a bright green, and zero additives just the way I like my 0%. My friend also enjoyed their iced fruit tea. The folks working the barista station also made the food. Looks like they also sell things like wraps and sandos. We kept spying on the other customers that got salads and bowls. Service was so friendly and welcoming. This is a solid spot to people watch and rest your feet while thrifting. They let me bring my calm dog in, who was just happy to have a place to lie down and rest. There's some outdoor tables good for small duo's or solo diners, and more indoor seating for a larger group. the cutest little hole in the wall kinda store! i came in not expecting much but was glad to be pleasantly surprised. the matcha definitely comes through and blends well with the pistachio foam on top. speaking of the foam, it doesn't feel like a chunk of cheese the way others do. it's very smooth and adds to the nutty flavor of the matcha. the staff are also very friendly! i came in about half an hour before closing and the chairs were already stacked on tables etc. but they didn't hesitate to offer bringing them down for me. i declined because i wasn't staying but i think it speaks well to their customer service. for studying: it's definitely a tight squeeze for groups bigger than 1-2 people but there is wifi so you could definitely get some work done here. read more

Wake Cup had a steady line for take-out, & by noon most of the chairs were taken. Staff is friendly, food comes out fast. I overheard a lot of orders for sweetened coffee. Talking to you Brown Sugar Latte. The cafe has an extensive breakfast, lunch & beverage menu. On to the main event. Avocado Toast. Ordered the Supreme, topped with bacon & fried egg. Egg a little runny for me, but I never asked for it more cooked. Decent amount of avocado, sprinkled with seeds over non-artisanal bread. That means prices way more reasonable, & bonus, bread Actually Toasted!! My tea latte was perfectly mixed, presented in a large cup, enough to Wake cUp. The Wake Cup Wrap was also delicious and a good serving for one person. My friend tried the iced Spanish Latte and Lox Bagel. She really enjoyed the bagel but said the Spanish Latte tasted a little burnt and it was harder to mix in the condensed milk at the bottom. Very cute coffee shop! Passed by this place while on a walk and was happy to see that I could order a lavender latte! I ordered an iced lavender latte with whole milk. It was good! I didn't do a good job of mixing the syrup/the overall drink so I sadly got past all the sweetness in a few sips. They also have soy milk (no extra charge I believe) and other milk alternatives (I think an extra charge). My husband ordered a hot vanilla latte with soy milk. If you are looking for a cute local coffee shop, I highly recommend Wake Cup. My husband and I needed a cup of coffee on New Year's Day and we just stumbled upon this coffee shop. The first time we got a drip coffee and a mushroom mocha coffee and it was so good. We ended up going back again a week later and we tried the pistachio foam mocha coffee which was to die for. The pastries are wonderful too. I had the guava croissant and my husband got the ham and cheese. Very local small coffee shop but again highly recommend. Honestly wasn't too memorable but it did its job - that's what decent coffee is supposed to do. So happy to have the adorable Wake Cup cafe on Haight St. They have a huge menu of drink options, as well as some tasty treats (including vegan options!) The first time I went to Wake Cup was before the pandemic. My partner and I were drawn inside because it just looks like a hella cute shop. Reminds me of something you might find in Tokyo. At the time, the space inside was fairly limited (in terms of seating) though we did manage to grab a spot by the window to enjoy our snacks. We were excited to see they had some vegan options, and a lot of plant-based milk options (including oat!) We enjoyed a small bagel with vegan cream cheese and a really well-done matcha latte. Flash-forward to the present and a lot has changed (obviously). First, they (and us, as customers) have benefited by being able to do some outdoor seating in front. Though it might seem surprising, Haight St gets quite a lot of sun, so on a weekday (when it's not super-crowded) it's nice to take a seat and enjoy the sun with your snacks. More importantly, it seems like Wake Cup's vegan options have grown quite a bit since my first visit. They now have several sandwich options, and they have some pastries too! Pretty recently I enjoyed a vegan banana chocolate bread--so sweet and inexpensive! Pair any of this with a oat milk boba and you'll be having a party. Hope that Wake Cup keeps expanding their vegan options, but either way, I will definitely be making a regular appearance here. read more
