There's not enough good things to say about Bazaar Cafe. Loved chatting with the barista/ cashier who had invented 2 signature coffee/ teas on the menu. Tried Mt Fuji Mist tea (sprinkled with Hibiscus sugar), the Caramel Rose Latte, and an Oolong bundt cake. Ended up going on a Friday evening, and there was an indie musician performing - very nice vibes. Grab a board game or read a book, or simply get lost in your thoughts in the cafe. Walked out into the backyard and it's the most cozy little garden tucked away in the city and is perfect for hosting events. I left the cafe, wanting to go back there again. read more

Got The Biscuit (doesn't seem to be something that sells out since they had stock mid afternoon on a Sunday) as a snack since I was passing by. You get to pick between honey butter or jam to pair with it, but I was advised to pick the honey butter. I was bracing myself for a dry dense biscuit, but it was surprisingly soft and on the inside. It's a simple biscuit so there's no extra add in frills, but the butter was a nice pairing (although they give you a small amount in a a little cup). read more

What a lovely neighborhood gem. Friendly and welcoming service. Delicious coffee and one of the best cappuccinos I have tried in a long time. Loved sipping it on their beautiful and serene back patio. Saw lots of pretty birds back there. Tried the breakfast sandwich on one of their housemade biscuits. I added turkey bacon to mine. TLDR: just go to Angelina's across the street .I came in just trying to get a breakfast sandwich and some coffee. Most of the people inside already had their food. After 25 minutes the one person making the food hadn't even started the sandwich. She would take several pauses to look around, not doing anything. The guy at the counter also forgot my muffin that he "toasted", which was also called after 25 minutes. I asked for a refund, the two coworkers didn't even acknowledge they had completed it to me, no apologies for the long wait or anything at all. Poor service. And the coffee was cold. read more

I really like the vibe a lot of this place. It has an old skool coffee shop from the 90s atmosphere with nooks and crannies with indoor and outdoor seating. I love the outside patio especially on a sunny day (though realistically the Outer Richmond has more foggy days than sunny). The patio is spacious and enjoyable to sit and eat there. They serve pastries, soups, sandwiches, quiche, biscuits and have lots of different tea lattes. I love any place that has a rose latte. My favorite sandwich is the Cape Town which is basically a grilled cheese with onions and tomatoes. Parking around here is extremely difficult. It's definitely more a neighborhood type place. 1 star off because they don't list their prices on the menu which I find very bizarre (pun intended). read more

First time here. Small place. Pretty empty when I came so food and coffee was quick. I got the Honey Lavendar Latte 9.5/10 Really good. Also got 'The Breakfast' which is a biscuit sandwich 10/10 the biscuit itself is so delish!. I added turkey bacon and avocado to mine. It hit the spot ! LOVED THIS LITTLE GEM!!! My friend's cat got me a gift certificate here for watching her while her owner was away on vacation. Go Irma, you know what I like - and that is BISCUITS. (in the carb, and "kitty massage" formats) Hubbs and I came here for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast biscuit with egg and hubby got the curry biscuit. We also got a sesame match mini bundt. Let's start with what a cute place this is, inside and the courtyard. Also how sweet and welcoming the staff is - It truly feels like a little neighborhood hangout. They have live music some nights - and I want to come back and check that out. My breakfast buscuit was delicious, but now I want to come back and just try a biscuit warmed with only butter, I bet that is great! They also have a small selection of rotating sweet and savory baked goods, all made in house. Hubbs liked his biscuit (with curry) too - it could have been hotter (but that kinda proved that they do NOT use a microwave, which would have ruined the biscuits texture). Husband and I had visited and enjoyed the garden the last time we were in the city. Today, I brought my daughter. We were greeted upon entering. The owner seeing that his staff was busy with drink orders jumped onto the register to take our orders. It seems like this place is known for their biscuits because they are only available until they sell out. We already had in mind The Breakfast and the Curry & Biscuit. We had a question about "rocket" as an add on to The Breakfast. It turns out that the Europeans call arugula by that term. I ordered The Breakfast with everything but the bacon and the owner very kindly put the cream cheese sauce and some kind of hot sauce on the side. For my beverage, I wanted the London Fog. The owner recommended oat milk as a milk alternative, but I'm not a fan of the taste of oat milk and went with almond milk. Daughter ordered a Fuijan Fog with oat milk. There was a choice of chicken or zucchini tofu with her Curry & Biscuit and she chose chicken. I knew from my last visit that there were seasonal specialties when it comes to the pastries. I enjoy looking at what is offered in the case and the way the owner talked about them being made in house and his familiarity with the items sealed the purchase of a few items. He suggested the French onion and the cinna which we will need to try next time when we bring the members of the family that like French onion soup and cinnamon. He had a midweek cookie special and we got the last white chocolate cardamom with black currant cookie. I enjoyed the maple dark chocolate bundt last time. It's wheat free and vegan. Daughter wanted to try the black sesame matcha baby bundt. It was such a pleasure having the assistance and menu knowledge of the owner. He started the bag with the pastries to which our breakfast orders were added. The temperatures of the drinks were perfect to drink in the walk home with a little nip in the air. My London Fog with almond milk was excellent. The maple dark chocolate bundt which we took a few bites of in the garden patio was sweet and moist. Father was waiting at home to share The Breakfast with me. With the sauces on the side, I liked adding the slightly spicy sauce to my egg and dabbing some cream sauce on the arugula. Daughter would have liked more of the cheong or orange syrup in her Fuijan latte. We had a good breakfast this morning. read more

I've been coming to Bazaar for at least twenty years. I always loved this little unpretentious coffee house - when I was 18, reading Kerouac and Ginsburg, it felt like the Outer Richmond's answer to Vesuvio and City Lights. In the evening it would turn into a singer-songwriter haven that made me feel like I was in the West Village in '65. I loved it. And nothing has changed. It is the perfect coffee shop -- as long as you're not looking for impersonal scandanavian design and grumpy hipster baristas. Not Bazaar. This place is soulful. I've been delighted that this spot has persevered through the years. For many years, I'd come for the vibes, but the coffee was... just fine. So imagine my delight this morning when the owner and head barista handed me a PERFECT cortado with the most beautiful swan art I'd ever seen. Not only has Bazaar kept true to its roots, it has also subtly transformed its coffee program into the obvious best in the neighborhood - and probably the whole nortwest side of the city. Breaking news: Best Flavored Latte in San Francisco Found at Former Secret Spot Bazaar Cafe. I love everything about Bazaar Cafe: the jolly barista with delightfully eclectic style. The olallie berry hand pies. The back garden. The gnome in the back garden. The community arts events that I'm still too COVID-wary to attend, but love seeing updates about on social media. Most of all, I love their lattes, especially since the arrival of their new espresso machine. Go for one of the May Flower lattes, if they're available. Great spot! I came here needing a quick spot to set up my laptop for an hour or some work while I was visiting SF. Bazaar was in the right location at the right time! It had plenty of indoor seating on a chilly SF morning and there were even a few outlets. The wifi worked well throughout my visit which was exactly what I needed. I had a large honey lavender latte and it tasted great! I love that they also have other options beyond coffee.... obviously talking about the beer. Short review for a short visit! read more

This is one of the few places left in San Francisco with an open mic night for music. Cozy and intimate on a chilly foggy night. I had a glass of Merlot and a wedge of broccoli/cheddar quiche. This oasis boasts a delightful green garden at the back of the establishment & the cafe itself has a cute-n-cosy interior. Likes: Baked goods are delightful, in the main, & made in-house. Mehs: Coffee drinks are typically haphazardly thrown together. You will receive: Overly frothy, overly hot, overly milky or sometimes fairly good bevvies. It's a crap shoot, unfortunately. WTFs: Someone accidentally dumped a coffee drink at the outside table and all over the ground, then notified the staff. The response was: The rain will wash it away. Huh? Take a bit of tap water and pour it over the spill to help dilute it, then wipe up the coffee mess from the table top as well. Happy 25th birthday to Bazaar cafe. Walked into this unassuming coffee shop to find it buzzing with life! This weekend, they celebrated their 25th birthday, and there is a reason they have been around for a while. Ordered one drink, the table mountain mist: This is a rooibos tea latte with vanilla and smoked paprika brown sugar. The paprika was yummy and kind of sugary. Very unique and sweet treat. Didn't get any food but it looked delicious. Definitely planning to head back and try one of their biscuits. It looks like they also have live music and such frequently. I came here to study and was debating what to get. The staff were so friendly and recommended us their special drinks: caramel rose latte and honey lavender latte. My friend got the caramel rose and it was so pretty and unique! It was pretty good but a little sweet for me. It seems like there is a good community here which i love. A regular recommended the dalgona coffee, which i got. It was so creamy and good, but I personally don't like sweets as much anymore. I enjoyed my drink, but would probably stick to a plain coffee drink in the future. The staff also told us about the backyard, which is actually why we wanted to come here! It was comfortable and cute to hang out in, especially during covid! There is a good amount of seating inside and outside and will definitely come back to do some work (there is free wifi!!) or to chill. read more

This is a love letter to Bazaar and their bundt. 1. What a cutie, lovely spot in the Richmond. This cafe feels very cozy, almost like going to a friend or grandma's home for coffee/tea and cookies/cakes. 2. The wannabe coffee person in me really likes the honey lavender latte. As tea person, I was impressed to see the different tea lattes available. I'll be trying the rooibos latte next time. 3. My favorite thing to get here is not a beverage actually, it's a baked treat and I think about it more often than I'd like to admit. Bazaar makes a really delicious black sesame and dutch cocoa bundt cake with matcha glaze. They had me at 'matcha' but really got me with 'black sesame' and 'cake'. The baby bundt is fudge-like and very moist, not too sweet and is just pure deliciousness and joy. It's also gluten free. 4. I once bought the last one in the case and one of the baristas told me they had another one hiding in the back and they offered it to me - how sweet is that! 5. They have bundt slices and biscuits I've been meaning to try as well. 6. There's also live music (I believe weekly) and a garden patio space, what more can you ask for? read more

We love getting the table mountain mist tea latte- it's amazing if you're looking for a delicious non caffeinated drink pick me up. But all the drinks are delicious. I recently went to Bazaar Cafe with my friend. Friendly staff here. The owner is from South Africa. That inspired me to order a South African beverage aka Rooibos. I ordered an iced Rooibos herbal tea. The beverage was served in an eco-friendly manner. It was served in a compostable container with a paper straw that makes it very San Franciscan. We are in historic times of the pandemic still yet am glad to see that the Bazaar Cafe is doing well and apparently business is thriving during these times. I went to this place a while back, it's really a hidden gem. I had just come home from Naples, Italy and was searching for a comparable espresso to what I'd just had in Naples (I never found that, but it's ok, it's famous for a reason). This place was just so adorable with a little garden out back that you can go and sit in. The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly and tried to help me find what I was looking for, suggesting a ristretto in place of a normal espresso as I was looking for something heavier than the espressos I had gotten since coming back to the US. It wasn't what I was looking for, but like I said, I still haven't found it here. This coffee shop is a gem, and a neighborhood staple. read more
