    Pastrami rooster roll

One of the best sandwiches I've had. Great service. The place is really chill, and Daniella at the front is very nice. I'll be back for sure.

Turkey w Provolone on Wheat. Somewhere between 3 - 4 stars for me.

I've been on a sandwich hunt all year for the best Turkey Sandwich and decided to give this spot a try. Parking was easy with a little lot in front, ambiance is dated and very casual, and the customer service was quite good with a friendly guy behind the register. I opted for the "build your own sandwich" option and had Turkey & provolone on wheat. All the veggies were fresh, the turkey was pretty good, and the wheat bread was standard like something you'd get at a grocery. This Sando was a little basic and forgettable, but a great value at $12.99. Due to the great customer service and pricing I'm giving this spot a 4, though it's really between a 3 - 4 for me.

Wow! Had another amazing Pastrami sandwich at Ben Franklins in SLO. Service is ultra friendly, the new owner makes every sandwich and it shows. Stop in and enjoy a sandwich today. Overall: A+

Returned to Ben Franklin's after quite a while. New look, great service and a friendly staff ready to put together a great sandwich to your liking. It's been a while since my last visit but Ben Franklin's is in good hands and well worth the stop.

People watch or daydream while you eat your lunch at the bar seating in the windows. Cali Sandwich in hand.

This is our favorite lunch spot in SLO. My husband and I like to share one sandwich because they are huge! The service is great! The shop is clean and really well decorated with ample seating choices. We try to come by once a month and then visit the camping store next door.

After 4 PM, they offer the "420 Special," which makes their sandwiches only $9. They also have online ordering, which I attempted to use, but they had already reached their limit for online orders because they were so busy. And after visiting, I can see why! Despite the crowd, they've perfected their sandwich ordering system, it's super efficient. When you walk in, you fill out a small paper checklist with your order and hand it to one of the employees at the register. They submit your order, you pay, and then wait for your sandwich. Expect at least a 25-minute wait, especially during busy hours. I tried the Tropical Vacation sandwich: smoked turkey, jalapeño havarti, "the works," romaine, sprouts, avocado, honey mustard, cranberry sauce, and sliced sourdough. I swapped the sourdough for Dutch Crunch bread, and it was PERFECT. It was the thickest, juiciest, and most flavorful sandwich I've ever had. I'll be dreaming about it until I can have it again. The pictures truly don't do these sandwiches justice, they were massive. I also tried the Spring Club sandwich. It was just as thick and delicious, though not quite as juicy as the Tropical Vacation. Honestly, I want to try ALL of their sandwiches because I have no doubt they're all amazing. The shop itself is super cute with a vintage feel, and they also offer a wide variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Food: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Overall: 9/10

This was actually pretty shameless and all you had to do was order one other site item that totaled two dollars and you got a sandwich for It turns out I was ordering before the store opened so I was automatically given a pick up time of half an hour after they opened for the day. I went with a simple tuna fish sandwich on their small sub. The app did not let me know when my sandwich was ready, but I did arrive a few minutes early, and it was all ready to go. I was met by the smiling face of the single employee in the restaurant. My sandwich was already bagged. My name was on it and my chips and extra napkins were inside already. The store was very clean and organized, and I seemed to be the first customer of the day. The sandwich itself was very good. It had a generous amount of filling and was served as represented on the menu. I will have to try Capriotti's again to try a different type of sandwich as I think it's unfair to judge an entire restaurant by a tuna fish sandwich. However, everything was as advertised and I can confidently give this location a thumbs up.

I'm so glad I did! The exterior is definitely unassuming to say the least, I mean it is a functioning liquor store next to a public park. Once inside, you'll see everything you'd see in a 7/11, but with a much more quality selection of liquor. If I'm looking for a bottle of high-quality bourbon or whiskey, I'll certainly come here next time. But I scooted past that vast selection, because 1) it was lunchtime and 2) I was looking for food. =) I ordered a Mediterranean wrap and a Gyro pita from the little counter in the middle of the shop. I chatted a little with the chef, who was super sweet and helpful to pack my order with sauces on the side so nothing would get soggy before we ate it. Within a few minutes, everything was packed and ready, I paid with credit card and left for our road trip adventure. When we opened the lunch pack, we were greeted by amazing smells and great tastes! Especially the Mediterranean wrap was delicious! It's all a little pricey at $11 for a sandwich, but they're huge and so tasty, that you should skip any of the cheap offers from Subway and Co. to eat here! It's unique, local and delicious!

Seriously! From racks and racks of beers from Anchor, Founders, Dogfish Head, Stone, Oskar Blues, and tons more. They have specialty bottles of barrel aged, anniversary beers, hard to find brands too. They have a large wall of refrigerators for a load of cold beer too. But I'm not kidding you'll come in here, walk to the back and just feel blown away that you didn't know this selection existed. In addition to the beer, they have a deli where you can order everything from sandwiches and gyros to burritos and schwarma. Serious! The sandwich I had from here was okay, not amazing. I'd still come back to try the gyro though. Of course they have chips and drinks and lots of liquor too. Every time I've ever come in the cashiers have been super cool, laid back and really friendly. Just stop by and wander around, you'll find something you didn't know you want for sure.

We returned during the week between Christmas and New Year's 2025 to discover the buildings and tenants were changed, but the overall impression was very good. Pros: - The mini farm: There are several corrals each with shelters, food troughs and water sources. Everything is well maintained. Two have a total of about 10 goats and one has 2 alpacas and 2 donkeys. It's not quite a petting zoo because you can't go into the corrals, but they can be fed through the fencing with food bought in a shop. They all seemed quite content. - The shops: SLO Ranch is not big, but it does have a nice selection of stores and restaurants. Everything was bright and fresh with friendly employees. - Specialty Food Shops: We walked into cheese and chocolate shops which were very appealing, great looking and reasonably priced. - Ambiance: Welcoming. There are lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Cons: - Restaurants: The quality might be good, but the variety is small. We saw a brewery, pizza place, Persian food, bakery (open only Friday-Sunday) and shops with biscuits and ice cream. The best looking place might be Lucy's Coffee which has a fairly big menu and lots of customers. - Parking: Okay on slow days, but the overflow must use a dirt lot. We didn't see a ton of people, but cars were already filling the lot. For us, the biggest draws were the animals, inviting shops and nice atmosphere.
