I went to see Dr Talei after a jaw surgery left many dimples on my chin. I was unhappy after seeing another doctor for Botox, as I could barely move my lower lip after the injections. Best Surgeon EVER! Ben is truly incredible. I have never experienced any type of surgery before, and the thought of needles freak me out. But with him I felt so comfortable that it was the easiest thing I have ever done. I went in for a consultation (out of curiosity) and with his type of attention and knowledge... My wife selected this Dr. Talei from several review sites, He is located in the Beverly Hills Center. I was thrilled to read all the 5 star Yelp reviews. My wife had elective surgery it was a 5 hour marathon experience that started at 6:30am, with a consultation, some pictures at many angels to capture the areas to be operated on. The reception staff is excellent and on point. The operating room team is very professional and friendly and make it easy to relax. The waiting room is small but comfortable with with complimentary coffee and water. The offices, patient recovery and operating room are super clean. I've been contemplating getting some work done but have been very hesitant. I've gotten multiple consults but was always worried about the procedure and what the results would be. I had acne scars and never felt good about my complexion. I've had alot of laser treatment, facials, peels etc but never got the results I was looking for. I went to Dr Talei for under eye filler using Restylane. Dr Talei was very thorough with each step in the process and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure was quick and painless! My under eyes have always been an insecurity for me and I was hesitant to let anyone near them with a needle! When I looked in the mirror after he was done I was beyond impressed with his work. So I am writing this review after I found out from other doctors that know him, that this guy PAYS people to write good reviews for him. I also had a lip lift and a rhinoplasty with this guy. I have a huge dent in my nose he created, and everyone that has seen what he did to my face told me he shouldn't operate on people and deserves a serious law suit. I have been told this from friends, family, co-workers and other practicing surgeons who are shocked at what they call "bad-plastic-surgery". BE WARE he wouldn't do anything to fix it and refuses to answer my phone calls. My lip lift looks obscure and made my lips square at the top. My nose job is a huge big blob with no tip, no side structure. I tried to write a review on real-self, they deleted it because he pays them to write off bad reviews. Other doctors call him "Mr holly-wood" because he wants to make himself a top guy and HES NOT. My nose and lips looks like I went to TIJUANA for surgery and he charged top dollar. I told him I'd been wanting my nose done for YEARS to which he told me I was crazy bc I DID NOT need a nose job (other surgeons in the the past have been all about it). Dr. Ben Talei is by far the best surgeon I have ever been to. I consulted with many different surgeons before choosing a surgeon for my revision rhinoplasty and what sold me on going to his practice was not just his talent but the customer service of his office. As a patient from out of state all of my correspondence was either through email or phone calls and it took weeks for some surgeons to even get back to me to talk about scheduling a zoom consultation and the first thing they did was try to charge you for it before you even discussed what you wanted. The first person in Dr. Talei's office to answer my email was Shayla Storz. She didn't just answer it with a response email but I swear she called me within an hour. She answered so many of my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all. I knew right then and there that I wanted to proceed with the consultation. Yes, you have to pay for a consultation but keep in mind these doctors go to years of medical school and take the time to talk to you if you schedule surgery with them or not. I wanted an appointment soon in order to be able to hide the bruises under my mask during covid but she said he was booked out for a consultation for about 2 months. I asked her to please contact me if he had any cancellations sooner. Within a week SHE called me with a sooner date for a consultation. Dr. Talei had a video consultation with me since the was coming from out of town. He was very personable and answered every question without me feeling rushed. He looks ven talked me out of getting things done he said I didn't need. I was expecting a high quote for surgery because by that his office is in Beverly Hills and he is an expert in the field of revision rhinoplasty and facial surgeries. I swear if they would have quoted me a higher price I still would have gone to him. I got extremely lucky with another cancellation and was able to move my surgery date up 3 months! He is very busy and books far out. I had the surgery done 2 weeks ago and I am ecstatic. I flew in a few days early to get Covid tested and to meet with Shayla. She went over everything that was going to happen and gave me two big cases of items I would need to use to care for my surgery with detailed instructions. This is something I never received at a surgeons office before. When I finally got to meet him in person I liked him even more. He was funny and made me feel at ease since I had few previous surgeries I was nervous about this one. He performed the lengthy surgery (i added on a necklift) until almost 10pm on a Friday night. I was pretty out of it after surgery but my friend who brought me said that Dr. Talei personally helped her get me to her car to get me home. From previous surgeons I have been to that is just unheard of. Some surgeons I haven't even seen after surgery because only the nurses handle it from there. My follow up was at noon on Saturday (yes a Saturday!) and that Saturday morning at 7am the surgery coordinator Shayla texted me to see how I was doing because she knew of my anxiety. The neck lift required a head dressing that was a little claustrophobic which was giving me anxiety so they luckily were able to remove that on Saturday. I then saw Dr Talei again on Wednesday and also got to use his hyperbaric chamber to help healing time. His surgery coordinator texted me again later that day to see how I was doing. My final appointment was 7 days after my surgery and the doctor had them schedule my appointment between his surgeries so he could see me again personally to relive stitches and answer anymore questions since I would be flying out the next day. Everyone at his office was so incredibly nice because I know I can be a little EXTRA to say the least and they never acted like I was a bother. In fact I was always so kindly greeted and checked in on. His office is very cool, has awesome artwork and great music. I can already tell a huge difference in my breathing and the appearance of my nose. I have had 4 previous surgeries and this has by far has already produced the best results. I wish I would have gone to him in the first place. Dr Talei is a magician in his craft and just a really cool down-to-earth guy all around. I swear I could hang out in his office all day if I could! This doctor may be a very fine one. He is obviously VERY successful and financially secure. I have had several plastic surgeries. Based on my experience an in office exam will be necessary at some point to effectively assess you as a candidate. I have spoken to several prominent plastic surgeon's offices recently in the same Los Angeles area because I am considering another procedure. Dr. Talei requires the highest up front payment. Other doctors have ranged from $150 to $400 ($400 for the TV doctor) for their initial consultations. So I do not believe his prices are in line. I don't have a problem paying for the initial consultation and his high price was actually beneficial to me because then I know his surgery prices are not in my price range. The comparison with the price your regular M.D. visit was ridiculous because obviously that is something submitted under insurance and plastic surgery is not. I think he is a little thin skinned to get so uppity about my review which did not comment on his skills. read more
