Initially, I wanted to try the viral fruit shaped desserts but ended up getting a couple pastries from the self service display case. Tried the strawberry donut and croissant with fruits - both were tasty! I also got a jasmine milk tea but wished the tea was stronger as it was a bit too sweet even tho I asked for 50%. Would love to come again to try the other pastries!

The place is very nice to sit and enjoy your evening snacks. They have a wide variety of items, I like That they let people decide which ones to pick and eat. Tried their oolong roasted bubble tea, which was good. Mango mousse was the best dish I tried, it was not so sweet and edible. Mochi ring was good but I found the chocolate was a bit too sweet there. Danish was good. But the egg cake we're having a bit of egg smell, somewhere they can improve to make the experience better.

I usually come to a lot of these shops specifically for boba, so that's exactly what I picked up; a brown sugar boba tea. It was really good, and I have zero complaints whatsoever.

Ben Wong is always a treat to visit with enough variety to fill any craving. The teas are fantastic - particularly the fruit teas which are refreshing and not overly sweet, while still highlighting fruit flavors. I particularly like the Orange Pineapple and Orange Mango, but you can't go wrong with any of them. At just around $7 the price point is in line with what you would expect for a coffee replacement. The pastries are where Ben Wong shines. Showcased in the middle of the cafe, the ability to self select pastries often leaves me going home with more than I expect. The Pineapple Bun is fluffy with a mild sweetness, the Chicken Curry Bun is savory with a satisfying crunchy exterior, and the Taro Buns have a rich taro flavor. At $3-$5 per pastry you can't go wrong with any of them.

Stumbled on Ben Wong's in the hunt for Richmond boba tea options and just so happened to be in relative proximity to our takeout destination. There was still a grand opening sign up but I'm not sure how long ago that has been-regardless its magical. You walk into what feels close to clinical in cleanliness with a center console featuring beautiful and fresh pastries, breads, and desserts for self service to purchase. A set of TV screen menus over the counter show their drink options as well as two kiosks to order from. The counter features a dessert shelf to die for with an assortment of mousses, cheesecakes, delectables and then some. We ordered from the kiosk, personally preferred to truly browse the menu options while not craning your neck or feeling the pressure of a line. The options felt endless and while I managed to narrow it down, I wanted them all. We got a passion fruit tea with lime, tea jelly, and added brown sugar boba plus a mango pomelo sago featuring mango puree with coconut milk, sago, crystal jelly, pomelo pulp. Bonus: a passion fruit mousse to go (dessert after our takeout). Our name from the order was called and we picked everything up from the counter and the teas did not let us down. Beautiful in appearance and their taste matched - with refreshing flavors, the right sweetness and over all delectable with a helping amount of boba, or in my case sago as topping options. Later, we would get to the passionfruit mousse and once again we couldn't be disappointed. Light, fluffy, a hint of tartness and a sweetness that didn't make you need water. We happily spilt it between us two and savored every bite. A must visit-I'm drooling just writing this review and ready to go back.

I've been a couple of times so far, and it's pretty good! The meat products (hot dogs) sitting out kind of gross me out but it didn't stop me from trying them regardless. *Can confirm I didn't get sick ha. I really love their drinks especially though; the tiramisu latte is sweet but delightful. Their bubble teas, especially the creme brulee, are good too, and I love their blueberry fruit tea! Of their pastries, I've enjoyed their berry-focused ones the best, such as the strawberry cake. It's close by and my boyfriend loves it here, so I'm sure to be back soon. Prices aren't bad either.

Amazing! I love (and hate) that this is so close to me. I've become a boba tea snob, and the brown sugar boba here far exceeded my expectations. It was delicious - not too sweet, just the perfect balance. Also, if you're jonesing for a pasteis de nata, the egg tarts here will satisfy that craving. They're perfectly rich and creamy, and taste just like Portugal. Super clean. A well lit space with quiet music - great for working or studying. The service was a bit slow, but they had a ton of online orders when I went. I can't wait to come back to try more of their wide variety of drink and food options!

I loved my trip last time so much that I had to come back ASAP. The lime tea at 50% sweet is perfect! I prefer it to the Mango Orange tea I tried last time. Today I tried the chicken curry bun, it's so flavorful, soft, and fresh. The matcha mochi bun is the real show stopper. Its texture and flavor is perfect. I notice that their pastries are not overly sweetened. They are just perfect. Today my total was $13. Don't sleep on this unique and affordable spot!!!

This was a newish tea place in an otherwise quiet suburban shopping center. In addition to tea, they had a considerable spread of baked goods. At the end of the day, their selection was reduced, but there were still plenty of high quality sweets. I settled on a mousse. Texturally, the hard chocolate shell and open sides meant it was physically difficult to divide it into any smaller pieces in order to eat it. The taste was rich enough. Savory options were available, but were limited by comparison. Among their tea options was a watermelon special for the season. A unique fusion, it was full of fruit pulp but also a grass jelly only found in Asian beverages (there are a lot of non-gelatin jellies for the vegetarian at these sorts of places). I was a tad confused on whether to order from a kiosk or a person, and there was also some confusion about labeling of the self-serve pastries and the tea specials. They have another location south of Richmond, and while there were a couple of points that could have been better, overall I expect success from them.

I purchased these Strawberry Donuts and they are delicious. I love how pretty they are! The restaurant was very neat and clean, the service was very nice. I definitely recommend going to see this wide variety of treats.

Got the mango and the strawberry mousse cakes. Both had excellent flavor and balance. The mango had a natural flavor and it was our favorite of the two. The strawberry had less flavor, but still delicious and fresh.

Went to Ben Wong's Tea with my girlfriend a while back and I'm glad we stopped by. We ended up grabbing some sweets that day, and everything felt pretty premium, they really put thought into what they offer. There's a big variety of options, and honestly, half the stuff I hadn't even heard of before. It was nice to just browse and explore their options. The ambiance is definitely a highlight. It's a relaxed spot very "post up with a laptop and zone in" kind of energy. I've seen a few people working in there every time I've went. Whether you're grabbing a drink or just want a calm place to hang out, it pretty chill. I went back another day before work and got a strawberry matcha just to try something different. I'm not usually a big matcha guy, but I actually liked it. The flavor was there, it didn't feel watered down or overly sweet, and the staff had it out pretty quickly. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming, which always adds to the vibe.

My husband and I are the type of people that like to have a "sweet treat" on Sundays. We are huge bubble tea/boba lovers and we've been going to Ben Wong's since they opened in willow lawn! We first discovered them at their Midlothian location and we were so thrilled when saw they opened in willow lawn, too. We have probably been now at least 20 times and we love it. I personally am not a huge pastry fan but if you're into that, they have an impressive assortment of French Vietnamese items; definitely something for everyone. I love their bubble tea, my favorite being their passion green tea! You can dictate the sweetness level and everything tastes fresh. The boba is the right consistency and the tea tastes freshly brewed, and no artificial flavors in there. Would recommend!!

That employee also completely ignored me, despite the fact that I was clearly standing there waiting to be helped. I was there to pick up a DoorDash order for someone else, but based on the way I was treated, I can guarantee you I will not be choosing to spend my own money at this establishment. I ultimately had to ask another customer who was standing in line if they knew where to pick up a DoorDash order. The entire experience was incredibly dismissive and unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment or, at the very least, "We'll be with you in a moment" would have made a huge difference.
