I had the tuna salad and red fish. Both were delicious. The salad had a Wasabi sauce that was so delicious. I really liked their Tatar and red sauce. All sauces tasted homemade and none were too sweet or too tart which store bought does. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? Is it a burger joint? Is it a sushi place? Yes, yes, yes, and very soon. Don't come on Tuesday because they are closed. Make sure you get there before 8PM. The menu had burgers, wings and more. I had a Kim chi topped spicy burger. It was nice. Had a side of slaw. It was sweet and good. Some spicy wings left my mouth on fire. Sweet potato waffle fries were delicious. I was able to wash that down with a Topo Chico. There is beer and a limited wine selection. There is no liquor. The menu will soon feature sushi, pho and other tasty items. The price wasn't bad. The service was a bit slow. Worth trying again, but no special trips to do so. read more

These guys cooked up a perfect grilled fish. Nicely seasoned. I also had a wonderful salad that was a generous portion. Some of the best hushpuppies I have ever had. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but was definitely worth going in! The menu is basically two completely different menus ranging from bar food to Vietnamese food. I tried a little bit of both with fried pickles, boneless wings, lettuce wraps, and a bun bowl! I can say ALL of it was delicious. Waitress said their cooler wasn't staying cold because they kept opening it. I ordered the grouper sandwich. Smallest piece of grouper I've ever seen and not worth the cost. Food was average. Came in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered our food and waited over an hour for it. After our entire table ran out or patience, we asked to speak to a manager. You would assume that with such poor service, we would be greeted with an apology or a comped appetizer for our troubles. Instead, the owner chose to lie about how long it had been since our order was rang in. She claimed it was 45 minutes and we had been waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Also blamed their kitchen for only having 2 people working in the back. Not sure when that became a customer issue. This used to be a place we would frequent every time we came to Rockport. Unfortunately, it was such a miserable experience that we may never be back. Take your business elsewhere or risk ruining your day. read more

Fun place, friendly staff and good food. They have a very interesting menu. I ordered the lunch special with came with hot and sour soup (or egg drop soup) and sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Service was excellent! The food and price were great! I had the Tangy Buffalo traditional wings with a small side salad (KETO). My wife enjoyed the calamari starter and Banh Mi sandwich. A true gem of a place! WAS TOTALLY CAUGHT OFF GUARD by how great the Chinese food was! Benchwarmers name was not where you'd expected to get Chinese food much less GREAT CHINESE! The potstickers hot and delicious, the lomein was popping with flavor, the egg drop soup is truly flavorful ( ad a spoonful of hot oil), BUT WAIT THERES MORE! The fried seafood platter was fresh, flakey and worth it! We live in Austin where there are some good eats but this place hands down ranks up ther! Highly recommend it read more

The Asian food is much like it's competitor NGO's here in Rockport... various kinds of meat, quickly dunked in a sauce, and served with rice. The difference between Kung Pao, General Whatever's, Etc. is the sauce they dunk it in. It's plentiful but won't pass for fine Asian cuisine... I wouldn't bring an Asian friend here. The Benchwarmers side has great burgers, wings, steakfingers, fries etc. All in all, the combination HuDat/Benchwarmers is an easy choice to bring guests to because the big selection... We were visiting Rockport Beach (from Austin) and decided to order takeout from here so we could eat dinner while watching the sunset. Ordering online and picking up were both very easy. There was ample parking and good Covid precautions. We got a grilled shrimp platter, a fried shrimp platter and grilled shrimp tacos. The portions were huge and the food was really delicious! I had the tacos and shrimp was really fresh and juicy, the tacos were flavorful with two really delicious sauces. The side salad was just okay. The fries and hush puppies were better side options (and I love salad). The shrimp platters were supposed to come with cocktail sauce, but didn't...which is the worst! We could hear tables all around us asking about their food. They had signs up around the restaurant saying they're not a fast food place but waiting over a hour is unacceptable.
