The shaping itself came out really nice -- I actually loved how my brows looked in the end. Clean, defined, and exactly the look I was going for. However, my main concern was with the tinting process. I was told the tint would be left on for about 10 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 30 minutes without any heads up or explanation. During that time, my eyebrows became extremely itchy, which made me uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it was a reaction or due to the tint being left on longer than expected, but it definitely didn't feel right. Everything turned out fine visually, but better communication -- especially when something changes during the service -- would have made a big difference in the overall experience.

I went in and explained what I wanted done. At first, I felt her trimming my eyebrows with scissors. I noticed she was trimming the top because my eyebrow hairs do grow upward a little, and I'm used to that being done at other threading places. But then I started feeling her trim the bottom of my eyebrows, and I could hear her clipping on my left eyebrow specifically. After that, she stopped and didn't really trim the other brow. The bottom of my eyebrows usually never gets trimmed, so this already felt unusual to me. She then started threading, and I did feel like she was taking off more hair than usual. Mind you, my eyebrows were not overgrown at all because I had already gotten them threaded somewhere else about 3-4 weeks ago. They still had a nice shape, so realistically this appointment should have just been a cleanup. Once she finished and brushed my eyebrows down a bit, they honestly looked okay at first glance when she showed me. However, today when I went to put gel in my eyebrows and lightly shape them the way I normally do, I immediately noticed blunt cuts. I tried styling them, but the hair on the bottom is now too short because too much was cut off. It honestly looks like I'm missing hair in certain spots because of how much was trimmed. I also noticed some micro bleeding/red spots around my neck and chin area after the facial threading. I'm not sure if that is considered normal, but it is something I experienced after the service. I uploaded pictures -- the first one shows how my eyebrows looked before, and the other pictures show how they look now. I'm leaving two stars because my other eyebrow does look good and they are even. If she hadn't trimmed the bottom, I honestly feel like they would have turned out really nice. At this point there's not much I can do besides wait for them to grow back. I also have a wedding to attend this weekend, so hopefully an eyebrow pencil does the trick. Needless to say, I'm disappointed because I chose this place based on all the great reviews I had seen.

First of all, I have never seen a more cowardly act by a manager in my 59 years on this planet. My wife who has for years been a customer at this establishment mainly getting her hair colored by an amazing stylist named Milan. For years she has paid to get a hair coloring without experiencing any issues with Milan and on a few occasions other stylists. On the day of the incident she had to settle for a stylist named Andrea because Milan was not available that day. Never having any bad experiences, she thought what the heck and gave her a chance. However, this would not be the case with Andrea, she was unprofessional and actually harmed my wife with her negligence and an unwillingness to listen to the customer's needs. She repeatedly claimed the way Milan whom has successfully colored her hair for years was doing it incorrectly! Andrea and her flawed ego failed the number one ethos in customer service "listen to your customer." She left her with chemicals in her hair way too long and was negligent in her attention to the process. My wife was so upset when she came home with an incomplete hair coloring and burns because of the chemicals left on her head by Andrea. My wife has always rewarded great customer service with great tips and verbal praise. I ask this question: Why for the first time over all the years of being a regular customer was there all of these issues with this stylist? At the moment this was happening our cowardly manager Mary "claimed she understood why my wife was upset and claimed she was out of practice but could possibly help." My wife did decide to leave to mitigate the damage as she was upset and experiencing burns. Weeks later she decided to try to book her regular stylist Milan only to be told that the Ulta manager Mary is banning my wife from coming back even to her regularly scheduled stylist Milan, and stating "Andrea's confidence was shaken by the event" which by the way Andrea caused herself with her ego and negligence!! WTF?? Mary, it is called remedial training in the corporate world and I am not sure that your manager handbook says to ban longtime, loyal paying customers from coming back. I am certain that is probably not what the store owner or corporate Ulta envision as an appropriate course of action or solution to the incident. My wife is a very understanding person and the fact that there has never been an issue over the many years until this incident with Andrea suggests the problem is not with the customer but perhaps with your employee. I am writing this review on my own experience based on what I saw and the incredibly inappropriate decision to ban my wife from her normal stylist Milan. Mary your decision to ban her is a big mistake on your part and I can guarantee you this is not where it ends. I will be diligent in ensuring I have this discussion with whatever form of leadership above you. I am retired with 36 years of service in the United States Military that has nothing but time and motivation to ensure your bad management decisions are held accountable. They will run it under the old name until later down the line - their main goal is to update what they can now (including processes and social media sites) and upgrade the interior...which already looks soooo much better than it did when we came in before the remodel!!!
