Benellis pizza is not only a great pizza place but it's owned by some pretty amazing people who are local and pour their heart and soul into their food. The pizzas taste amazing, I've never had a Detroit style pizza before but I'm hooked. Benelli bites are a great starter and they even have sweet Benelli bites for a sweet treat as well! The sandwiches are also very good. Oh and that homemade lemonade? Delish! There's room to sit and enjoy your pizza, or you can take it to go. (If I take it to go, I enjoy a slice on the way home, but that's just me!) This place has really great Detroit style pizza. My husband is from Detroit and he loves it. It's a great takeout place. Not a lot of seats inside. So that's something to consider when you're planning a trip there. We got lucky and had a booth available. The place is very small. But they have the cup pepperoni, which is delicious!! read more

We ordered the Detroit OG just to "test the water". We are kind of pizza fanatics so trying a newer place in town was good. We absolutely loved it! I think what made it delicious was the ricotta cheese and the hot honey drizzled on it that had a little kick. We will be back to try the hand tossed style. read more

The pizza is great. Today we made a carry out order, being the day after Christmas and the day after hosting one sides party, and the other sides party, and throw in a child's birthday just for a change of pace, we needed a break. We got the classic Detroit OG, the crust was delightfully crispy, the sauce was excellent. Second pizza we did was a small Cheesy Does It. A word to the wise, this is a pizza for those wanting all the cheeses. Our boy, tried to run with the big dogs, but just couldn't handle 8 cheeses, so we stripped the ricotta off of his slices. I always tell him to know his limits, and 7 cheeses is apparently his. So yeah, once again Benelli's Pizza has left quite an impression. Bottom line, it's good, just order it already. read more

These people are rude, disrespectful, and the food is awful. I walked in and was stared at by the old man with the bald head and after 10 mins of him doing nothing but sitting in a booth eating pizza he finally ask in a extremely rude tone "Do you need something?" I assumed he was having a bad day so i still got some food. I got a 12" pizza with the benelli bites, I got the food home and it looked horrendous. The benelli bites were rock hard and the pizza speaks for itself once you see the picture I attached. They have one toilet for the whole place as well. The floors and countertops were not clean at all. I always love mom and pop places in my area but I see no future for this establishment. read more

This is a small, but awesome new pizza place in Valpo. We had the Detroit-style deep dish with pepperoni, onions and green peppers, and BOY was it delicious! Crust was perfect, with the edge-to-edge cheese caramelized just right, and even had the extra dollop of red sauce on the top of each piece - just like the original. The service by the front of the house staff was EXCELLENT ! The pizza was AMAZING, cooked to perfection, the amount of toppings to sauce and cheese was exactly what a Detroit style should be. The taste of all flavors were exquisite ! Onto the back of the house.... there is only 4-5 tables so seating is limited. It wasn't loud in the dining area and with an semi open concept kitchen and where we were seated we had a great view of the kitchen. Well..... the guy in charge, if he wasn't he acted like it in all the WRONG WAYS ! He screamed and cussed MULTIPLE times to his staff ! He was LOUD, OBNOXIOUS and threw some empty pizza pans to the ground ! This was completely UNCALLED for in any setting. By the looks on the staff's faces they were embarrassed and also it is something they seemed quite used to. In all aspects of a resturant experience was very low. First time there, heard good things. My wife got the 8x10 BA BBQ w/ pulled pork. Good balance between the bbq, cheese and crust. Could've used just a bit more pulled pork. Very tasty and every piece is a corner so you get a lot of nice toasty crust. Yum! I got the Chicago Combo 12". Two meats, cheese and red sauce with hot giardinera. It didn't disappoint. Just the right amount of heat with the right amount of meat. Very tasty! Looking forward to our next visit. I'd recommend Benelli's. read more

To start very different way of pizza form. The Detroit pizza is sq. And like a silica style pizza but is not. Ate twice in the last three weekend. It is that good. Both was carry out because games were on but the place is very clean inside. Service was spot on the young man behind the counter working the cash was very polite and sincere.
