Not a bad place to get refreshments. I enjoy their Osmanthus Rice Milk tea the best when it's made well. Their drinks can be quite pricy at almost $8. The last several times I've been there I've felt the quality of the drinks have thoroughly decreased, so much so that it felt like 80% water, 10% tea with the remaining being boba. I haven't been a regular since! I feel the staff could use better training so that the drinks are more consistent, as each time I've had drinks made there it's either a hit or miss. It's either too sweet, too much ice, too watery or a combination of both. Overall, the drinks are unique but for the price I expect more care and quality given to my refreshments. read more

Okay the mango sago here is reason enough to make the drive to Arcadia -- and I say that as someone who has tried mango sago at a lot of places. What sets this one apart is honestly the texture. You get the perfect chew from the sago, real mango pieces that actually taste fresh and fruity, and a creamy base that ties everything together in the best way. It's one of those drinks where every sip has something going on. The sweetness is also dialed in just right -- not cloying or artificial tasting, just clean and balanced in a way that lets the mango flavor actually shine. You can tell they're serious about quality here; they use genuine ceremonial matcha in their matcha drinks, which says a lot about how much care goes into everything on the menu. Definitely will get some matcha the next time I'm here. I finished the mango sago and immediately wished I had ordered two. I decided to try Bengong after the other boba place in the plaza (Oops) didn't have any boba, and honestly, it was the best decision ever. The customer service here was top-notch. The drink names were a bit odd and the descriptions weren't super detailed, but the staff was incredibly helpful. They walked me through the menu and even made recommendations based on my preferences, and they did it all with a smile. As for the drink, I loved it so much that I came back two days later for the exact same one. I didn't get the chance to thank the girl who helped me the first time, but I made sure to let the other staff know (she's the girl in the pic). The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, but honestly, totally worth it if you're in the mood to splurge a little. The boba had just the right amount of sweetness and was perfectly chewy--not hard and stuck together like some places. They also have this unique addition of burnt bits that was surprisingly pretty good. I highly recommend the Burnt Caramel Cheesed Milk Tea as it has become one of my all-time favorite drinks. Best mango pomelo sago in town as Iam concerned, their other drinks are good too but this one particularly speaks to me. Plus they work fast, even on busy days, you usually can get your drinks within 15 minutes max, not like some other places where you might have to wait 30 minutes or more for just one drink. read more

Cute boba shop with seating & plenty of parking. They have quick, friendly service & delicious tea. It was my first time visiting. My friend enjoyed the burnt brown sugar boba tea. I normally like fruit teas or jasmine milk tea but decided to try something different. I chose the peach oolong milk tea since it was on their top 6 milk tea menu. The tea was good but I didn't know it came with barley bits which I didn't really like. I wish there was a description on the menu or I wish the cashier warned me or I wouldn't have ordered it. i tried out this place because my friend recommended it to me and it was so good! the store is decorated so prettily and the cashier/barista was kind and patient :) the burnt brown sugar boba milk tea was delicious and the crack on top was satisfying! it also tastes really good once some of the pieces sink to the bottom :D the uji matcha milk tea w boba was smooth and i liked how it wasn't too sweet so you can taste the matcha! the boba adds a nice balance of sweet to the drink :D i will definitely come back to try other drinks on the menu!! read more

I used to love this place, but now the staff is really stand offish. I'm not sure what happened, but everyone was so friendly before! I feel like the quality of their drinks has also changed. ALL of their recipes were so light and refreshing. Now, they're a bit denser and heavier. This isn't a bad thing, but rather than having delicious and refreshing fresh milks- it's like drinking straight, thick cream sometimes. Went on a Saturday at 7:30pm during their soft opening. Cute inside decor and bright ambiance! Lots of cool new flavors to try like Golden Sesame Milk Slush and Burnt Caramel Cheese Milk Tea, which is what we got. Service was prompt, polite, and helpful. Stopped by to try more of their menu after a good first impression. Service is quick and friendly. The shop is small, tidy, and filled with the beautiful smell of tea and brown sugar. Parking can get difficulty in the busy plaza. I've had the DaHongPao boba milk tea and peach oolong milk tea drinks so far. The tea flavor is strong and the boba is always warm with the perfect texture. I appreciate their unique topping offerings. Just a heads up that some drinks contain toppings already (like barley!) so maybe ask before you order if you're not feeling adventurous. All the drinks I got was 50% sweetness and it was the right amount of sweet. All of it was delicious and tasty. Not sure what kind of toppings or what was on the bottom of the drinks but it was good. I was a little hesitant because I don't know if they put nuts in their drinks since I am allergic to it, but it was pretty delicious. Service was friendly. Tried the Cheese Dahongpao Tea and it was alright. It didn't taste anything different than other black/oolong teas. The cheese foam was alright as well but you can't really taste the cheese. The large size costs $0.75 extra. It wasn't even that big of a cup so kind of pricey at $5.50. read more

I always forget to leave this place a review because I end up devouring their drinks. I am very much a returning customer :) They are probably one of the few establishments in SGV who are CONSISTENTLY GOOD! I never had bad nor even just okay drink from here. It's always so GOOD! It's also cute inside with the wishing tree and decor. There are a good amount of seats to hang out as well. The staff has always been kind to me, even when they messed up one of my drinks before, very apologetic. Their service is fast, even when it gets busy, but you can tell they still handle their drinks with care. They're located in a big plaza and there's always parking. Their price is normal, if not even more worth it than other places charging the same amount. There's a good balance of sweet and tea flavor. I always get the jasmine milk tea with sago or boba. Drinks are better than the boba. This place is not in my boba rotation but I've stopped here a couple times out of curiosity. The boba texture seems inconsistent. Most of the boba in the cup would be soft and maybe a few would be chewy. It's sweet though, but they need to control their process parameters to make the boba consistent. I liked the osmanthus rice milk tea. I liked that I could taste the rice grains and the drink wasn't too sweet. The burnt sugar boba milk tea was pretty much a crème brûlée foam milk tea. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really stand out in terms of taste. It was pretty sweet but the thinness of the milk made it feel more lightweight, which I liked. The milk in both drinks is a bit on the thinner/watery side. Also, cups run smaller than other places for the same price. read more

Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea 75% Sweet, Less Ice ($5.75): It's $0.75 for a 700 mL and an extra $0.50 for sago pearls so this was an expensive drink. It came with rice barley bits too which went well with the sago pearls. The milk tea has a rice flavor but with an oat milk consistency. 4.5 stars. I ordered the tiramisu special milk tea at quarter sugar and it was nearly perfect for me. The boba was still warm and it was perfectly soft and chewy. The milk tea was flavorful and was at the perfect sweetness level once I mixed everything together. I typically order 25% sugar and it was just right for me. I do wish there was a strong tiramisu flavor, that was the only part I felt was slightly lacking, but I can definitely taste it. The drink was a little pricey, coming in at around $7. The service was relatively quick which I appreciated. The aesthetic of the shop was unique and quite nice, it's a place where you could catch up with a friend or get some work done. I liked their brand design, it adds to the overall experience of my visit. Unsure of the hype of Bengong's in China, but I can see why that was a thing of the past. I still had a belly to fill after my dinner for the night, and was looking for a nearby boba spot to top it off. Unfortunately, this shop arguably did the opposite. I ordered a Special Boba Milk Tea and a Peach Oolong Milk Tea. The Special Boba MT was ordered at 70% sweetness, but it might as well been 70% sourness. When I took my first sip of the drink, I was met with a sour taste in my mouth from what was presumably the boba. I asked my girlfriend to try my drink, and she agreed there was at least a slight sourness to the drink (she didn't want to admit it b/c yk, she picked it). Thinking it was a fluke, I took a few more sips, but the sourness never left my taste buds. Deep down, I knew there was something wrong with the drink, but I ignored my gut feeling and kept drinking, opting to share since I preferred the Peach Oolong. The Peach Oolong was...just an average white peach oolong milk tea, though the tea taste was a bit stronger. It was still a pretty decent drink, albeit it didn't really taste like Peach. During the drive home though, I should've trusted my gut. Our tummies were rumbling and not feeling 100%. I was thinking to myself: "It can't be the noodle soup earlier, that tasted fine. It must be the slightly sour boba I had!" We ended up tossing the half finished Special Milk Tea and finished the Peach Oolong. Safe to say I didn't have the best time in the bathroom. Overall, a pretty average boba shop. I'm 100% sure what I experienced was an anomaly, but after looking at other reviewers' and their ratings, combined with the above average pricing, it's safe to say that it's hard to justify coming back here.
