It was the worst experience I have ever had a restaurant. Had reservations (since it was V Day). Stood at the front for 10 min waiting to be acknowledged and seated. Was sat at a full table with others who had obviously been seated more than 10 min. Benihana's rule is tables closed after first person sat and 15 min passed. First Ladies sat said they'd been there for 30+ min. We all waited for another 15 min for water & drinks. Cook seemed to be 1st day in job. Everyone at our table agreed we wanted seasoned food and cook agreed to it. Meanwhile, didn't have enough rice, egg for the fried rice, not enough shrimp. Apparently he felt two season shakes to serve 7 ppl was enough -- oh and no lemon juice on shrimp. His food mixing was elementary and he discarded so much because of it. Lastly, I always order double fried rice. Somehow he had extra after and offered it to everyone but the ONE PERSON who actually PAID for extra rice. To top all of it off, I pulled out a strand of something from my ginger sauce. It looked like hair to me but the asst Mngr thought it could have been a strand from chopstick. I'd bet if I walked in that kitchen no food preparers would have their hair tied up.... This location was my preferred for awhile but since they've had new mngmt, there have been one too many snafus for me. read more

Poor in every aspect. Visited for the first time yesterday (only other time was the inauguration I was invited to). We got seated within a few minutes of our reservation, that was good. The waitress took over 15 minutes to even come by and then, over the entire meal, would disappear for 15-20 minutes at a time. The food was OK, nothing special or very tasty. We had hibachi (just OK) and 2 sushi rolls (no taste, nothing I would order again). The worst part was that from when we got seated till we saw ANY FOOD, there was 1 hour and 20 minutes in which all we did was watch the show of the table next to us while drinking water. That's ridiculous! Understanding that this is not a fast eating experience (I've been to many hibachi restaurants), I've never waited so long to see food. So in summary, it was 2 hours at the restaurant, 40 minutes of a very slow cooking "show" and 80 minutes of nothing. The chef was very friendly though. Definitely not coming to this location again, very disappointed. read more

1. Food was subpar for the amount of money we paid. 2. Better be prepared to sit there for 2 1/2 hours. Our reservation was at 6pm, we got there 15 mins early and was sat on time. We waited for our drinks for a half hour then ordered. Our waiter put our food in at 6:34 (he showed us the receipt because I asked for a manager) they didn't start cooking until 7:15. The supervisor told us the chefs cart fell over in the kitchen so they had to set up a new one. I'm slightly disappointed with the new location in Addison. We've been to the one in Plano plenty of times and we've never had any issues before so when my husband & I found out they were opening one up in Addison we were thrilled. He specifically chose to go there for his birthday dinner with all our friends. We made a reservation at 6:30PM, and we weren't seated till 7:30PM. I know our server was trying his best to be accommodating but all our drinks came about 20-30 minutes late. The ones who chose the specialty option never received ice cream or green tea. For the amount of money we spent, we could've gone somewhere else for a much better experience. We ended up walking out of the restaurant at 10:30 at night. It took 3 1/2 hours to be seated & get our dinner. We don't plan on coming back anytime soon. read more

Came here for my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday with a party of 19 and service was amazing. Our server was Fonz and the managers Jeremy and Marcos were nothing short of amazing. Jeremy set everything up and Marcos came thru as the closer. I didn't get the chef's name but he was entertaining as well. Christmas Day was extremely busy, I mean --busy busy! The entire bar and bar seating section was full. I believe only Marcos Demelo and the bartender, Cesar R, were working the area. Marcos did a spectacular job manning the high tops and doing all the other manager duties and escalations. Cesar held down the bar wonderfully!! Such fantastic service regardless of the rush! We were so excited to take a group of 9 to celebrate at Benihana last night. The service was awful. Our reservation was at 8pm. We weren't seated until closer to 8:45. We didn't eat until closer to 10. The waiter didn't bring out our soup and salad. Didn't refill drinks. The few times that we actually did see him, he was bringing out wrong items that we never ordered. The cook- Manny- was incredible, and without him we would have had a miserable experience. Eventually we received our soups and salads (and the irony is they didn't bring enough for everybody at the table) once we were done with our food. We also weren't offered or brought our dessert that comes with the meal. But at that point, it was 11pm and we just wanted to get out of there. After trying to speak to the manager, he seemed aloof and didn't either care or understand. It was baffling seeing the dumbfounded look on his face and we tried to explain what was going on. He almost seemed annoyed with us for asking to speak to him. Very defensive, it was bizarre. Needless to say, we won't be back. We will have to let the nostalgia of Benihana live in the past. Made a reso a 9pm on OpenTable. They called and said chefs called in and they are behind and to show up 30-45 mins late. Cool, no problem. We arrive at 9:30 pm. They had us as we were no shows and it would be another hour and half wait. Hostess response was a i don't care shrug. We ask for a manager and he said nope, only 2 should be about 10 more minutes. We sit a bar for a drink and ate our cold chicken dumplings. Decided to tab out and leave. Not a good experience. I can understand low staff, but just be honest about our wait time instead of wasting our time. read more

Some friends and I went to Benihana for a birthday dinner. It was all good and dandy until we got the bill. Everything was charged separately. No one explained the menu! They just charged Us a lot of money. I ordered food to go, and there was a charge for 12.95 for the preparation of the chicken fried rice plus 12.60 for the chicken fried rice. Then, 4.40 for each meat aided, which was shrimps and beef. 3 of us ended up spending 180.00 dollars or more. The charges and communications were outrageous . I would give Chris 5 stars read more

We ate there on Saturday 11/29 for a birthday party of 6. We were seating 1 hour late if our reservation . awe got jo service for another 39 min . I spoke to the manager about the fact our waiter was non existent. When the hibachi started , we never got our steamed rice even asking twice . The waiter bright the bill and then we said what about our ice cream . the tab was $500.00 and we never got a credit for that fact two courses were not served and we basically got our own water , soy sauce . this level of service given i have been to other locations in the chain is unacceptable. read more

Came here for the grand opening! Our server Tre was energetic and very attentive! It was his first day and he will be a great asset to the location! The chicken tempura app was good. I have a salty pallet so I feel the batter could have used a bit of salt. The sauce had flavor heat wise and helped. Overall the dinner was really good! Our chef DC was on point! Super cool and informative and just a total vibe! Loved him! I was a tad disappointed in the carafe offering of wine that was $5 more and same price as the wine. We went to the Benihanas on Beltline in Addison for Sunday lunch. We Sat at the bar and we're served by Jackie. She was AMAZING. Super friendly, very knowledgeable and had a great attitude.
