Hua is the best, my kids liked his interactions and did engage in topical issues, the food was awesome and the fact that Hua engaged us all in conversation. This place used to be excellent years ago but I'm disappointed to say I've seen a steady decline in quality over the years. Todays review is solely on the Benihana delivery through the Benihana.com website. They use DoorDash and the driver was excellent but it was the restaurant that was the issue. I want to note that it was also almost two hours between placement of the order and delivery. The driver was very communicative and advised when he was at the restaurant waiting since our food was still being prepared after over an hour since the order was placed. I feel bad as he sat there for a while. To say Benihana's has gone downhill is a complete understatement. We had an 8PM reservation for 2 tables to celebrate a very special 70Th birthday party. We were not seated until almost 9PM. Once we were seated, we continued to wait. The drinks (90% water because we had already been at the bar for over an hour) took 15-20 minutes. Then the server left and didn't take our order! It was 10:15PM by the time the chefs arrived. This was 2:15 HOURS after our reservation. The chefs were great BTW. Before the chefs arrived, we had at least 4 members of our party talk to the manager about the slow service and she actually blamed us for not being seated right away. She said she could have seated us at opposite ends of the restaurant at 8 although we had 2 confirmations (once while making the reservation and again earlier in the day) that the tables would be next to each other. Although that didn't explain that we were seated at 9 and the chefs didn't arrive until 10:15, which she had no explanation for. I asked her to make things right and give us a discount or something. No manager even spoke to our table or approached us in any way. To top it off, they gave us no discount, but you bet the full service charge was added to the check! To add insult to injury, we had to wait in line to pay, which took an additional 25 minutes. The police were called due to an unruly and upset table who also had to wait a long time, so it was a complete mess. The fact that the managers didn't even care about our experience and even blamed us for our late seating- even having us pay full price for our check is just too much for me to fathom. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I will absolutely never go back. I hope your loss of customers was worth it. I don't think this restaurant will last much longer. I actually think it's funny one of your bartenders is stealing from you- serves you right!!! At least someone is getting their money's worth from your establishment LOL!!!!!!! read more

Where to start. The food was good but it was a very expensive night. Started out ordering a glass of pinot grigio that I didn't realize was $18 a glass which arrived with lipstick on it. One of the other couples at our table also had a dirty dish. Waiter and chef were fine. Waiter did mix up our bills but fixed it. Both of our meals were about $50 each. By the time the "service charge" or tip of $30.90 was added, we were told we could add more but it had to be cash, and taxes of over $17, our bill for 2 was $203.03. We had $150 of gift cards, thank goodness. The food was good but not worth the amount we paid. We won't be going back. read more

Five of us ate there December 16th. Emily was our waitress and she was incredible. Always making sure that our drinks were filled and asking if we needed anything else. Roberto was our chef and he was very fun to watch and had a great sense of humor as well. It was my birthday and it was a very enjoyable experience and the food was incredible! Service was really slow, we sat down and everyone was there so we weren't waiting on anyone. They finally were about to start 40 minutes later cooking, but the grill was never started so it took an extra 10 minutes to heat it up, and another 10 for them to come back to cook. My wife had to leave mid way through dinner because we were limited on time. It took a whole hour after we were seated for them to start cooking. Then what made it worse is that all three of our groups were charged a fee for the cook which probably rounded around 100 all together. More than likely won't go again until some changes are made. Not even a percentage taken off our bills, just added fees. At least the other two groups made my experience bearable. read more

This restaurant is not a place I would recommend, with food or service. The flavours were not authentic and felt like the just got a spicy sauce bottle and coating the fish. Hadn't been to Benihana in a long time and they didn't disappoint. The food was amazing as well as the showmanship of the Chef!! Throughout dinner the Chef had nice interaction with the dinner party, flipping around his spatula like no ones business, even throwing it behind his back and catching it!!! I especially liked the flaming onion volcano. Enough about the show, the food was delicious , no left overs here . I had the Teriyaki Steak with grilled mushrooms and it was goooood. My wife got the chicken , also very good along with the yum yum sauce they give with it. Not sure why, but only one of our entrees came with ice cream after dinner, hmmmm :( If you're going out for a special occasion this is the place. Let's say, this will be the last time I dine here. If you made a reservation, there's no point. If you indicate it's for a special occasion, there's no need. Try not to make extra request besides your normal entree orders or you may never receive it or wait forever to get it. I made a reservation for a group of 9 with kids to celebrate a birthday. We was seated at our reservation time, and everyone was very excited. There were 3 other tables in the midst of entertainment from the amazing chefs. It was the kids first time and they couldn't wait for the same experience up close. The same hostess (who seated us) as well as staffs walked passed our table many times within the 50 minutes that we patiently waited. 2 of the tables had left well over 30 minutes ago. At this point the kids were getting impatient and hungry. I jokingly said across the table to another family member that we should've head over to TGIF or Dave and Buster (across the parking lot) instead without a reservation and probably would've had our birthday dinner by now. Then our server came over, explained the hostess didn't notify him that we were waiting to be served since we were seated in an area that wasn't his. We understood and just wanted to eat by then so we got our orders in. Also threw in a beer on the house for the wait. The salad and soups came out right away. Chef was amazing and highlight of the night, keeping the kids and adults entertained. After finishing our food, we spiral into another very long and "ready to be over" wait. At one point our server walked by and said to a hostess "I just want to go home." We thought we'd hurried it up since our reservation was at 8 but wasn't attended to until 9 and it was about 10 now. But birthday boy wanted the same treat with the birthday song he saw happening in the table next to us when we sat down. He was excited for the same experience. So we asked for treats, mentioned the birthday kabuki mug certificate then our server asked if we also wanted a birthday song. I thought it would be great if he could do that. Treats came but was handed to us so we wasn't sure if there was a song coming or not. Birthday boy was disappointed but still enjoy the ice cream. Looks like there were only 1 server on our side of the restaurant. He was also serving 2 new tables next to us. At this point our server seems annoyed and ready to go home. He came to our table and told us to gather for a picture. We were confused because we didn't asked for a picture and thought he got the wrong table. Then he annoyingly said it's with the birthday kabuki cup that he'll print out for us. Didn't knew about it so we thought it was pretty cool to have memorabilia for birthday boy. Waited another 30 minute for server to bring our bill and take birthday boy to choose a mug. When we left, we forgot the to ask for the picture and try to go back in but door was locked. It was after 10:30 now. Figured it was a stressful night for the server and he probably forgot, oh well. Food in general was good and the hibachi experience was amazing for the kid's first time (1 star for the chef). However it wasn't the birthday experience we thought it'd be. When we sat in, the table next to us had a birthday too and it went smoothly with the candle, treat and birthday song so it really set the mood for our birthday boy, he was excited. My last few experiences at this location haven't been good. I'll focus on my most recent visit for this review. I was invited on a Thursday night to a birthday celebration at this location. Reservation was made for 10 guest (I believe their tables are designed to sit 8, but they were able to add 2 chairs to accommodate). We arrived promptly at the time of our reservation minus 2 people. The host told us we had to wait for the other 2 people, which is fine. Personally for a restaurant who offers appetizers and drinks you would think they would seat the 8 and bank that extra money on drinks, apps & sushi, especially since once you are seated you are rushed through the rest of the process and often times full before your entire entree is one being cooked. But I'm just a customer. I know nothing about running a business. So once we are seated we are greeted by our server. As I said they rush through the process and serval errors were made or things were missed. We ended up ordering food & drinks at the same time. I personally ordered the one and only hibachi chicken noodle dish they offer. The waitress asked if I wanted the fried rice. I asked if it came with it (even though I know it's an extra fee with any other entree), she repeated it again as if she didn't hear me ask the question. I declined the rice. You seriously don't need noodles & rice.. ever! When the chef arrived he went over the orders, had to make several corrections because the waitress didn't listen. When he got to me he goes "chicken noodles & white rice", I ask does it come with white rice (meaning the price of the white rice is included in my $22 entree price) he says "yes", so I say sure. The chef seemed like he didn't want to be there that night. Like they usually put on a little show, so tricks and what not. We got a half assed show. He dropped & cracked an egg on someone's shoe. The only other trick he attempted was the volcano and that didn't even go so well. Maybe he was new or shy. He forgot that my order came with white rice and accidentally made all of the rice into chicken fried rice. He gave me a bowl & my friend said something & he took it back but then checked the ticket & realized he messed up & said "just keep it"... mind you I never even ordered rice. By the way the rice was very dry & lacked flavor!!!! When the check came guess what?! I was charged 4 dollars and some change for rice I never asked for. At this point our waitress was slow at returning so I decided to deduct the price of the rice (that I never asked for or wanted with my noodles) from the tip and left a note. I basically got scammed into buying nasty dry rice. I used to love Benihana but a lot has changed. It doesn't even taste good anymore. The overall experience isn't exciting anymore. Prices went up and it's definitely not worth it. ALWAYS double check your check. Don't let them overcharge you on already overpriced food. read more
