If it was just about the food, this would be a five-star review. However, a friend once told me "it takes more than a great steak to make a great steakhouse". So, here is the bad...why have a waiting list if you still have to wait when they tell you to bring your party in. I know it is a "roadhouse" but does it have to be so loud you can't hear yourself think? The waitstaff is "hit or miss" sometimes amazing...sometimes not so much. The onion is also hit or miss...sometimes spot on...sometimes greasy. Now for the good...the steak is wonderful. I usually get the ribeye but have had the sirloin and the country fried steak and they have not disappointed. The dinner rolls are outstanding (make sure to order extra butter) and the pork chops and salmon are also really good. Stopped here in February as I haven't been here i. Years. Very busy and HUGE portions! I recommend you get on their waitlist online so you don't have to wait. It was my boos first time and we talked up the rolls and cinnamon butter. Still as good as I remembered! They are so fresh! They give you a bag of peanuts vs baskets back in the day. Probably smart! We shared the "Cactus Blossom" blooming onion and it was salty but satisfied the craving. I always got the salmon and still enjoyed it. This time I got with mashed potatoes and dang were those evil! My wife and I celebrated our 43rd Anniversary by going to Texas Roadhouse in Coon Rapids. Our server did a very nice job, but it was SO loud, we had to yell across the table. During about a one minute stretch, somehow the music was turned up so loudly that we were going to get up and leave it was that loud. They did turn it back down a bit. We spent over $100 and the food was decent. My ribs were pretty charred, not the best. They did fall off the bone, which is the reason why I ordered them. The potatoes were great. My wife's 16oz, filet was slightly overdone, but certainly not enough to send back. What bothered us was all of the tack on fees which our server never mentioned. Had an amazing meal!! We were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary and decided to go for a good steak. We got that. Big fan of Texas Roadhouse, always! This time I spiced it up from my usual sirloin to get pork chops and applesauce, such a great combo. And Texas Roadhouse has some good pork chops. I got applesauce and fries as my side but I feel like the fry portions keep getting smaller. Also while I know meat is why we go to Texas Roadhouse, I do wish they had more vegan options as my sibling is vegan so there wasn't much they could eat, they just got a beer. This was my second experience after trying the Woodbury location for the first time a few months prior. I was excited for the exact same meal it was so good. Unfortunately the experience was subpar, especially compared to the experience at Woodbury. The service was very friendly, but we seemed to be the neglected table. A lot of little things added up to the poor experience. We ordered the filet medallions with loaded potatoes with two house salads sides. Our server was not present and didn't check in until after our meal was completed. The food runners brought out the salad first and we didn't realize our table didn't have silverware until after they walked away. The salad was good, but the tomatoes served past their prime. When our main dish was delivered, they forgot our requested onions and mushrooms. We were so hungry we just ate what was prepared. The potatoes were lukewarm at best, and the requested extra rolls never made it to our table until after our meal was finished. Went to this steakhouse on a Friday night and it was packed! We were there around 5:30pm and there was a 40 Mn wait already. We decided to go to the bar area seating which is first come first serve. I have to say that despite being so busy, the energy was buzzing and there was the vibe of everyone happy to be here sharing good food with family and enjoying an evening out. Saw large family groups at many of the tables. I was very impressed with our bar/server staff. They are definitely a well oiled machine. They were fast,efficient, good service and a smile on their face. Even the person who eventually brought out the food made small talk, and in no way did you feel the staff was overwhelmed with the place completely packed. Saw servers every once in a while collectively dancing on specific songs for entertainment, which absolutely adds to the family and fun atmosphere. Everyone gets the fresh bread and sweet butter on their table. It was hot and absolutely delicious! Also had the 16oz ribeye with steak fries and a baked potato with butter and cheddar cheese and sides of steamed vegetables and buttered corn. All of the food was wonderful. The steak was cooked just right. The baked potato was fluffy and cooked all the way thru. The vegetables and corn had good simple flavor to complement the potato. They have a $5 everyday 16oz beer or 10oz margarita. No time restrictions which is good knowing whenever you go you can get that deal. Parking lot is attached and pretty big. This is our go-to steakhouse - both dining in and take-out. First, the quality and quantity of food is fantastic. My husband and I can get a great tasting meal with leftovers for less than most restaurants let alone steakhouses. Their soft rolls are the perfect delivery system for the mouthwatering honey butter. I have to limit my intake because I could easily fill up on these (and have when we order takeout). Hubby always gets the steak kebabs and subs out the rice for a different side. I get the country-fried steak when we go in person, and the kids mini-cheeseburgers when we take out. We sit at the bar because the service is great and soda refills are speedy. My wife and I chose Texas Roadhouse in Coon Rapids to celebrate her birthday by sharing a meal together. Unfortunately, what began as a pleasant afternoon ended in a very disappointing dining experience. My wife received her meal as ordered and enjoyed it. I ordered the 12 oz. Dallas Filet, cooked medium rare. When the food runner brought my steak to the table, I immediately told her it did not appear to be a Dallas Filet. She assured me it was and explained that it had been butterflied. However, after cutting into the steak, it was clearly cooked medium to medium-well rather than medium rare. I politely sent it back and requested that it be prepared correctly. Approximately 15 minutes later, a replacement steak arrived. Before the runner left the table, I cut into it to verify the temperature. This time, the steak was completely raw in the center and barely warm. At that point, my wife had nearly finished her meal, and I no longer wanted to wait for another attempt. I declined a third steak and asked that it be taken away. We then waited roughly 10 minutes for a manager to come to our table, but no one arrived. I eventually went to the hostess stand and requested to speak with a manager. After another 10-minute wait, the manager, Zach, came to our table carrying a to-go container with the steak I had originally ordered. What was most disappointing was the lack of a sincere apology or acknowledgment of how poorly the situation had been handled. Instead, Zach simply described the issue as "human error." While I understand that mistakes can happen, the first mistake should have prompted greater attention to ensuring the replacement steak was prepared correctly. There was clearly a breakdown in communication between the food runner, server, kitchen staff, and management. Ensuring the replacement meal was correct should have been the highest priority, and a manager should have personally verified it before it was served. read more

Been many years since we've dined at a Texas Roadhouse. Overall good experience. This location has a large dining area. I recommend reviewing the menu before coming because they offer a lot of options. Bread and cinnamon butter was divine. So soft and buttery. The onion blossom was nice and crispy. Both of us ordered the bone-in ribeye, that comes with 2 sides. I ordered my steak med rare but it came as a medium, which I kind of expected. Most mid priced restaurants can't get the right temperature for steaks. They tend to err on the side of overcooking than too rare. The sweet potato looked a little sad but was fine. They offer options of getting your potatoes "loaded" but I opted for just butter. Service was friendly and they checked on us regularly. I appreciate that they have a tablet at the table to pay by credit card and it also has online games for those with kids. Speaking of kids, the restaurant is loud. The seasoning they put on is so good, no sauce needed. We got the house salad with blue cheese as one of our sides. The salad and dressing are both very good. The rolls and butter are also a classic. Let me start by saying I have been here before and it just isn't my thing, but I was gifted a gift card so I thought I would try again. The seats were a step up, which I thought was weird and a little dangerous as people don't really think to step down when they are leaving a booth. People and tables were packed in like cattle, so it was a little uncomfortable. They bring you a basket of bread when you sit down, which was pretty good, but a little sweet. I can't remember if there was a tv anywhere because there were so many advertisements hanging from the ceiling, the light fixtures and everywhere else they could find to stash them. The table was small and there was a lot of stuff on it so it was hard to find room for the food. My partner and I each had a salad as one of our sides and that came out first. It was fine. Just a side salad, exactly what you would expect. Later our steaks came out. They were good. My partner's was rare which is what he wanted, I also ordered rare but mine was more medium than rare. Fine, whatever. Lighting was fine, ambiance was a little loud and chaotic. Service was fine. You pay at a little machine at your table. Overall, a fine experience, just not great. It took about 10 minutes for a sever to get to us. It wasn't overly busy and the server started in right away with a personal story that didn't feel very professional. The food was very good. Definitely up to the Texas Roadhouse standard. The kids meals are large so they can definitely be split between kids. You have to get the blooming onion! Sooo tasty! Our server didn't check in and we didn't get refills on our drinks. The burger came out VERY late even though everything was supposed to come out at once. The burger was supposed to be medium but came out week done and was almost burnt. Not worth it at all. Overall this was a very average experience here. Went on July 4th with friends at 5:45. We had been here numerous times and we love Texas Roadhouse, however this is what I didn't like. I don't like what seems to be a bit of a deception on the drinks menu. They have a photo of a spirit drink and a big $5 at the top, wine is listed beneath that with no prices for the wine which makes one believe that wine is $5/ for a 5oz pour and a note that 9 oz is available for $3 more. We had ribeye steak, top sirloin, ribs, chicken, a hamburger. So we pretty much covered it all. Everything was cooked very well. Our server was very attentive.
