I made a reservation online for 3:15pm, arrived at 3pm and have been waiting for over over 45mins. The people at the front say people before me that arrived afterwards. The food is always on point though. It is always delicious and hot, I always order the same thing. I love how the filet mignon is so tender. The cooks are lively and actually seem happy to be there. This is not the case at all their locations. I like their beer selection. I definitely recommend making a reservation. We had an 8:30 reservation that required a credit card to hold. The system tells you that you will be charged $20 per person if you cancel or do not show up. We arrived at 8:20 with all 6 in our party and checked in. We stood right next to the check in area and waited for our name to be called. At 9:15, I asked how much longer and they realized they "accidentally" gave our table to someone else. They finally sat us at 9:40. We waited until 10:30 for the "chef" to arrive at our table. He immediately started complaining to us how busy they have been that day and how his feet hurt. He did NONE of the hibatchi chef "show" that you actually go for and basically just cooked the food as a kitchen cook would do. Our party, along with the other party at our table watched the tables beside us get the full treatment. He cooked the food and then left. $350 later, we walked out and will NEVER RETURN TO BENIHANA. We had an 11:45am reservation. We check in on time. The host told us that they would text us when our table was ready. As we had a reservation I asked how long. The host said that they "only have 4 servers." Considering that we are in graduation season, and we were there to celebrate our daughter's graduation, and there were lots of others there to do the same, this was a very bad sign. As we waited, two fresh servers walked through the door. We were seated around 12:05. The server came to our table and as we tried to order drinks she became very confused. My parent ordered a bottle Nigori Saki and she didn't understand what that was or that it was to be shared. My dad had to point to it in the menu and explain it. My husband asked if they has Coke or Pepsi products (he hates Pepsi) and was told Coke. He ordered a diet Coke. I ordered hot green tea. The waitress told us this was her first day ever working in a restaurant. When the drinks arrived, the waitress brought the saki bottle and no cups. We asked for cups. She came back with beer glasses. We told her that we needed saki cups. She came back with 2 saki carafes. I then told her that they are the little cups, she was clueless. I took the carafes and asked her to accompany me to the bar. I spoke to the manager behind the bar and asked for 2 saki cups. He was confused as I handed him the cafares. He told her that "those aren't cups, you should know that." She then came back with the correct cups. The chef was great. The food was delicious. My husband asked our waitress for a refill. She ask him if he wanted Pepsi, he said I asked for diet Coke. He thought that it tasted funny. She brought him another Dief Pepsi. He drinks the drink and "surprise!" He looks at his glass funny because there is a black ring like object about 1.5 inches in diameter. Turns our the soda fountain gun nosal was in the bottom of his of his drink. I took his glass containing the object to the same manager. He was confused again. I explained what was in the bottom of the glass. He inspected it and agreed that this was the fountain nosal. He apologized and brought a new glass of soda to the table. He apologized again. Considering all the issues, he didn't offer dessert or discount the check. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant. I cannot believe that Benihana provides no training to new wait staff. Our waitress was clueless and it was clear that she never ate a single meal at this hibachi restaurant or any other. I guess the days of shadowing to learn the rope are over. The worst service I have seen in my life. We get there and they put me on one and half hour waiting list. So I go quickly to put gas and within 5 minutes they have a table ready. My parents took my brother, sister in law, niece here for my brother's birthday dinner. They were seated fairly quickly. The chef was so-so, not friendly, but not a jerk. The food was ok, but really, it's nothing special but maybe that's my opinion because of the garbage that happened afterwards. My dad paid the bill and it took an awful long time for them to come back with the card. Everyone at the table remarked how long it took for the server to return. My dad signed the receipt and we left. THE VERY NEXT DAY THERE WERE FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON HIS CREDIT CARD and he had not used that card elsewhere in weeks. He tried calling the store itself and they didn't offer much of an explanation or really even give a crap. So then he called the corporate office not ONCE but TWICE and no one has yet to call him back. So I took it upon myself to let everyone know to not go to this restaurant by word of mouth and reviews all over, including this one right here. What happened to customer service? The ambiance and service are what you would expect, but the prices are outrageous (2 adults, 3 kids, no alcohol, apps or desserts for $234) and the food is not as good as it used to be. They use WAY too much garlic in their garlic butter, which is used to cook everything and I could taste garlic for the next 24 hours. So gross, and I love garlic, but not that much and not in my Asian food! We will not be returning, the prices and amount of garlic are outrageous. I've been buying the 24oz chicken hibachi rice for my son weekly for over 5 years and what used to be 2 nice sized containers is now one barely full container.
