I would never ever come back to this establishment and if I could rate this place and the staff a 0/0, I would! I went here on a normal Sunday with my family of 5 just wanting to enjoy an evening out. We got there at 3:00pm. It was 4:15 when I looked at the time again, and noticed everyone who came behind us, got their chefs except for us. No chef for my table. I then complained to our waitress and 3 other workers there and none seemed to do anything about it. We waited an additional 10 mins hoping someone would come. It was 4:30 a chef came!!! His name was Victor and he was so nasty and rude! He instantly got an attitude reading our orders back to us as if someone told him about our complaint of not being assigned a chef for over an hour. When we asked him what took so long, he left our table with his cart. Even the waitress was shocked. So unprofessional I've never witnessed anything like that in my life. Managers are horrible there they didn't care or apologize to us for inconvenience or the actions of their employee. 1 manager went to the back after we complained about this chef and never came back to the front. I have visited this occasion several times but this last time I was there it was terrible. Clearly there is new staff and management that is failing to provide superior customer service. I visited this location with a big party for a birthday and we had a reservation. We waited almost an hour to be seated. When I would approach the hostess for an update I was greeted with an attitude and when I asked for a manager she was worse. This was only my third time at this location. I was in shock by the appearance. We went on a Thursday at 4pm. The dining area was dirty, run down, greasy. There were more than a few tables that had previous customers but still had dirty plates on the table. The staff were on one side folding napkins. The food was not any better. The rice was too salty and hard. The rolls were warm and seemed to be low grade fish. It was so bad that I didn't want to see what the restroom looked like so I waited until I got home. The waitress was a young girl and couldn't get the orders straight. We literally had to repeat the orders several times. It was my daughters graduation, she wanted a special dinner, so we took her to the famous Benihana. I've never felt Benihana was a good food value, more of the experience of the show and dinner. The chef was very nice but the show he put on was not very impressive. All in all my daughter can now say she ate at Benihana, and for 180.00(including tip) I don't think she will be returning. While waiting to be seated people without shirts came in for takeout. It just didn't feel like a 180 dollar night. I don't know where to begin, I thought I was going to a nice top-notch restaurant. Boy was I wrong, it was so dirty & and loud inside. & when we went outside to enjoy the view the beauty goes away while a lady curses at a young child. This is the worst place to get to know someone, although the guy we sat next to was talking loud on the phone the whole time. The show, I mean what show he didn't really do anything he wouldn't cooking in the kitchen. We had the most attentive waitress Naomi!!! She was so on top of her game! We were there with our 2 granddaughters and she helped to make sure that everyone's needs were being met! Let's face it, if the kidos aren't happy it makes for a long meal! But Naomi made our experience fantastic! Even providing our toddler with a paper umbrella , you know that could have broke the whole night And Sam our chef was also amazing! Benihana has good tasting food but quality has gone down hill after inflation. I've ordered their shrimp and they are not deveined which is not expected for the prices you pay. I really enjoy the chicken and shrimp but lately notice they are smaller than usual. Saving costs may be affecting quality. read more

Then they had the nerve to charge $17 for a kids meal, when ordering asked if we wanted rice so I assumed it came with it. Bill came and they charged us an additional six dollars for my five year old's rice, that he didn't eat more than two bites of. Lunch review:: Let me be blunt. Come here for the show, but not the food. We came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was 11 year old's choice for his 5th graduation. We arrived at 12:15 and there was a wait. The restaurant was not prepared for the deluge of customers celebrating graduations and birthdays. There were several hibachi tables that were not manned. This really led to a back up. We finally got to our hibachi table. Although drink orders were taken, it took a while for them to arrive and for our chef to get started. Once he did get started, our chef, Diego, was excellent! He not only did every trick in the book, but he was warm and personable. Some of the food however, was not on the same level. We all got the Express Lunch Combo: Miso Soup or Salad, Veggie Fried Rice, Mixed Veggies, and choice of protein or noodle. Not a bad deal for $15. I believe the regular Express Lunch with one protein is a bit less at about $12. The salad was fine. The ginger dressing was tasty and I liked that it did not drench the lettuce. Don't judge me, but I did enjoy the fried rice. You have the option of upgrading to chicken fried rice for a dollar extra. I was the the only one who did not upgrade at my table. For my proteins I chose Shrimp and Scallops. The shrimp was cut into pieces and was so dry it tasted like cardboard. The scallops were not as bad but were pretty dry as well. My son had noodles with his scallops and to me they were almost inedible because they were so salty. No, not a place to come for a culinary adventure. But I have to admit, we had a good time! The staff at Benihana provided the graduate with a special ice cream dessert and took pictures of the graduate with Mom and Dad. I love Benihana OK, not afraid to say it! I think it's a great franchise and a great concept! I come here every birthday for my $30 coupon and have never had a bad experience. And when it hasn't been my bday, it's still been great! Came this week and had the seafood habbachi dinner. Lobster, shrimp, scallops, chicken fried rice, miso soup and salad for $36! I'm sorry it's a great deal and they are so generous with the portions. I've always been blessed with a chef who always gives us a little extra. Yea, yea, the show is cheesy but who cares! The food here is always fresh and who can beat having your food cooked right in front of you!! I've had the sushi a few times and it's decent. I've had better, but there sushi is good. It was really fresh and made to order. My date even tried it and he hates sushi lol. Had the cold saki with apple flavor. This drink was delicious, and presentation, wow! Came is his gorgeous vile that I wanted to steal lol. I had a really nice time and of course, like any franchise they sang a cheesy happy bday song that I loved. Took our orders promptly, brought out the food quickly, and always checked in with us to see if we needed anything. If that ain't good service I don't know what else to tell ya. Everytime i call there is no answer. The last 3 times I've ordered they put the wrong condiments. I order mustard sauce and i get the salad dressing. The first time ok an honest mistake but 2 more times and they cost money even though i would get it free with my meal there. We ate their last night and had to wait an hour to be seated with a reservation. Then, we were seated at a table for 10 people with 11 guests. We could not even move our arms being so crowded. The hostess said we would have to wait 2 hours for a table. She was rude and did not listen to our request. The manager agreed the table is made to serve 10 people. I'm a big fan of Benihana but I have to admit that I was disappointed with their service in the Miramar location today. I called earlier in the day to inquire about their current dine-in options and potentially making a reservation. I was quickly told that they were not taking dine-in reservations during this time, however, we can walk-in and dine in the lounge if their was availability. I still chose to go and take a chance as I was craving the food. Unfortunately, when I arrived I noticed that there were a lot of people dining in and was told that a reservation had to have been made, despite having been told earlier that they were not taking dine-in reservations. I also could not even see the lounge and was immediately told that there was no space for three people. We were turned away immediately by the hostess! I found this to be rude and extremely frustrating as I had called earlier and was given false information.
