Went today To this Benihanas and what a fiasco this was. Sat in the bar area, which I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have been here a lot of times since the kids and I like the food. The waiter was rushing everything on us. We ordered the California rolls never got. We were having our soup and immediately Got our food. I felt so rushed that I'll think it over before going to that location. If I do, I will not sit in the bar area. Omg awful! read more

We had the most attentive waitress Naomi!!! She was so on top of her game! We were there with our 2 granddaughters and she helped to make sure that everyone's needs were being met! Let's face it, if the kidos aren't happy it makes for a long meal! But Naomi made our experience fantastic! Even providing our toddler with a paper umbrella , you know that could have broke the whole night And Sam our chef was also amazing! We let him know that the fire would scare the toddler, and so he was more than mindful to accommodate her! Everyone was wonderful from when we arrived until we left!!! We will be back!!!! read more

This was only my third time at this location. I was in shock by the appearance. We went on a Thursday at 4pm. The dining area was dirty, run down, greasy. There were more than a few tables that had previous customers but still had dirty plates on the table. The staff were on one side folding napkins. The food was not any better. The rice was too salty and hard. The rolls were warm and seemed to be low grade fish. It was so bad that I didn't want to see what the restroom looked like so I waited until I got home. The waitress was a young girl and couldn't get the orders straight. We literally had to repeat the orders several times. Benihana has good tasting food but quality has gone down hill after inflation. I've ordered their shrimp and they are not deveined which is not expected for the prices you pay. I really enjoy the chicken and shrimp but lately notice they are smaller than usual. Saving costs may be affecting quality. read more

Went for my sons birthday. Very disappointed. Poor cooking show with no tricks with knives,eggs, shrimp, etc. and the cook lacked personality. food was ok. They rush you in and out. Then they had the nerve to charge $17 for a kids meal, when ordering asked if we wanted rice so I assumed it came with it. Bill came and they charged us an additional six dollars for my five year old's rice, that he didn't eat more than two bites of. Tack on another 4.50 for apple juice, and his meal was almost as much as mine. Have not been here for over 10 years. I clearly won't be back for another.... read more

It was my daughters graduation, she wanted a special dinner, so we took her to the famous Benihana. I've never felt Benihana was a good food value, more of the experience of the show and dinner. The chef was very nice but the show he put on was not very impressive. All in all my daughter can now say she ate at Benihana, and for 180.00(including tip) I don't think she will be returning. While waiting to be seated people without shirts came in for takeout. It just didn't feel like a 180 dollar night. Wish we were closer to Sanibel and the bubble room, for eighty dollars less, we'd be talking about that dinner for years. Hope this was helpful. read more

After waiting nearly an hour to be seated despite having a reservation, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes before our orders were taken. When the chef finally arrived, she seemed disengaged and unhappy, lacking any enthusiasm for cooking. She didn't even smile. It was the first visit for most of our party, and we chose this restaurant for an enjoyable birthday celebration hibachi experience. I don't know where to begin, I thought I was going to a nice top-notch restaurant. Boy was I wrong, it was so dirty & and loud inside. & when we went outside to enjoy the view the beauty goes away while a lady curses at a young child. This is the worst place to get to know someone, although the guy we sat next to was talking loud on the phone the whole time. The show, I mean what show he didn't really do anything he wouldn't cooking in the kitchen. Our chef looked more annoyed than appreciative to be there.It was boring and the shrimp had veins or poop in it, which gave my boyfriend food poisoning. Everytime i call there is no answer. The last 3 times I've ordered they put the wrong condiments. I order mustard sauce and i get the salad dressing. The first time ok an honest mistake but 2 more times and they cost money even though i would get it free with my meal there. We ate their last night and had to wait an hour to be seated with a reservation. Then, we were seated at a table for 10 people with 11 guests. We could not even move our arms being so crowded. The hostess said we would have to wait 2 hours for a table. She was rude and did not listen to our request. The manager agreed the table is made to serve 10 people. The chef broke a plate and wanted to serve us the fried rice with broken pieces. I will not return to this restaurant. The only positive experience was the server. read more

I made a reservation online for 3:15pm, arrived at 3pm and have been waiting for over over 45mins. The people at the front say people before me that arrived afterwards. Also, as I was looking around the four tables they did sit had been waiting for 15mins and they didn't have a chef at their table. The management really dropped the ball here today. read more

Lunch review:: Let me be blunt. Come here for the show, but not the food. We came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was 11 year old's choice for his 5th graduation. We arrived at 12:15 and there was a wait. The restaurant was not prepared for the deluge of customers celebrating graduations and birthdays. There were several hibachi tables that were not manned. This really led to a back up. We finally got to our hibachi table. Although drink orders were taken, it took a while for them to arrive and for our chef to get started. Once he did get started, our chef, Diego, was excellent! He not only did every trick in the book, but he was warm and personable. Some of the food however, was not on the same level. We all got the Express Lunch Combo: Miso Soup or Salad, Veggie Fried Rice, Mixed Veggies, and choice of protein or noodle. Not a bad deal for $15. I believe the regular Express Lunch with one protein is a bit less at about $12. The salad was fine. The ginger dressing was tasty and I liked that it did not drench the lettuce. Don't judge me, but I did enjoy the fried rice. You have the option of upgrading to chicken fried rice for a dollar extra. I was the the only one who did not upgrade at my table. For my proteins I chose Shrimp and Scallops. The shrimp was cut into pieces and was so dry it tasted like cardboard. The scallops were not as bad but were pretty dry as well. My son had noodles with his scallops and to me they were almost inedible because they were so salty. No, not a place to come for a culinary adventure. But I have to admit, we had a good time! The staff at Benihana provided the graduate with a special ice cream dessert and took pictures of the graduate with Mom and Dad. Benihana is still a nice spot for a celebratory meal (especially for kids!) and lunch is much easier on the wallet than dinner! read more

I'm a big fan of Benihana but I have to admit that I was disappointed with their service in the Miramar location today. I called earlier in the day to inquire about their current dine-in options and potentially making a reservation. I was quickly told that they were not taking dine-in reservations during this time, however, we can walk-in and dine in the lounge if their was availability. I still chose to go and take a chance as I was craving the food. Unfortunately, when I arrived I noticed that there were a lot of people dining in and was told that a reservation had to have been made, despite having been told earlier that they were not taking dine-in reservations. I also could not even see the lounge and was immediately told that there was no space for three people. We were turned away immediately by the hostess! I found this to be rude and extremely frustrating as I had called earlier and was given false information. I recommend anyone craving Benihana to call and make sure to receive accurate/ clear information before considering to dine-in during these COVID times! read more

I love Benihana OK, not afraid to say it! I think it's a great franchise and a great concept! I come here every birthday for my $30 coupon and have never had a bad experience. And when it hasn't been my bday, it's still been great! Came this week and had the seafood habbachi dinner. Lobster, shrimp, scallops, chicken fried rice, miso soup and salad for $36! I'm sorry it's a great deal and they are so generous with the portions. I've always been blessed with a chef who always gives us a little extra. Yea, yea, the show is cheesy but who cares! The food here is always fresh and who can beat having your food cooked right in front of you!! I've had the sushi a few times and it's decent. I've had better, but there sushi is good. It was really fresh and made to order. My date even tried it and he hates sushi lol. Had the cold saki with apple flavor. This drink was delicious, and presentation, wow! Came is his gorgeous vile that I wanted to steal lol. I had a really nice time and of course, like any franchise they sang a cheesy happy bday song that I loved. We had an 8:30 reservation that required a credit card to hold. The system tells you that you will be charged $20 per person if you cancel or do not show up. We arrived at 8:20 with all 6 in our party and checked in. We stood right next to the check in area and waited for our name to be called. At 9:15, I asked how much longer and they realized they "accidentally" gave our table to someone else. They finally sat us at 9:40. We waited until 10:30 for the "chef" to arrive at our table. He immediately started complaining to us how busy they have been that day and how his feet hurt. He did NONE of the hibatchi chef "show" that you actually go for and basically just cooked the food as a kitchen cook would do. Our party, along with the other party at our table watched the tables beside us get the full treatment. He cooked the food and then left. $350 later, we walked out and will NEVER RETURN TO BENIHANA. After getting to know all the staff, I think Benihana Miramar definitely deserves a second 5 star review for their service. Everyone is SO friendly, it's a little unbelievable. Let me break it down for y'all. Servers: Kaori, Sherette, Jonathan, Sotharin, Melissa. My usual servers. Ask for them when you sit in the lounge. You won't regret it. Specifically for tonight dining experience, I would like to give a big shout out to Sotharin. She greeted us warmly at the entrance and volunteered to specifically be our server. Took our orders promptly, brought out the food quickly, and always checked in with us to see if we needed anything. If that ain't good service I don't know what else to tell ya. Sushi/Lounge Chefs: Geo, Akira, Yuriko, Lance, Donato and Fanny. Food always comes in a spot-on presentation. Flavors and freshness are absolutely PERFECT. This goes for anything you order on the menu. Of course, I can't forget Elizabeth and Masa ~ Great job on managing Benihana Miramar! This place could be your worst nightmare if you like torture and bad service. The host was very rude despite the reservation made 3 days before and having request a booth also.
