I have a lot of food allergies that can make a night out quite stressful. I was blessed with how accommodating everyone was with my allergies and making sure that my health and safety were not compromised. Went recently on June 7th. Do like hibachi style now and then. Can be fun with a group. However this is one of the worst managed restaurants on the planet. In part they had our server assigned to tables at the extreme ends of the place which is very large. Nonetheless Kierra did a very good job. And be prepared to wait a lot regardless of the reservation time. But, the bathrooms, should be declared environmental hazards!!! Worst part, this was reported to the manager who didn't seemed particularly concerned. Went unfortunately a second time before departing, and absolutely even worse than previously if that was possible. Folks need to either not return or at a minimum complain to management. We went looking forward to eating at Benihana. We know the brand well. This is a badly run establishment where they overbook and aren't honest with the clients. They tell everyone coming in with a reservation there was a 10-15 delay. We were seated over 30 minutes late and they just don't care. Me and my boyfriend are big customers of the Benihana restaurants. Every where we go we search for a Benihana and check it out. This was my first time eating at the Benihana and it appears to be a new restaurant in the area. Well actually everything surrounding seems to be fairly new. I went on a Tuesday after Memorial Day and was told the wait without reservations would be 20mins for a hibachi table. I was given a buzzer and I waited the 20mins. When the table was ready I was placed with another family at the table and they looked at me and my boyfriend with an attitude so my boyfriend kindly asked to wait on another table. The hostess seem like there will be a problem for us to wait on another table but we told her we don't want to sit there and let us wait for another table we didn't care how long the wait will be. We end up waiting about 35mins for another table but it was all worth it because we ended up being seated by ourselves at the hibachi table. The Chef was entertaining but he rushed on our meal because it seem like their was a shortage of Chefs and I notice one other Chef took forever on a particular table. I asked the Chef for extra garlic butter and he acted like at first he didn't want to give it to me. He also had a strong accent so it was hard to understand what he was saying. He messed up on one of my food because he was rushing so badly. Our server was very great. She was the best we have ever gotten at a Benihana. She offer recommendations to help us order since she realize we asked for a lunch menu but lunch was over so she suggested sharing if we were looking for a small potion but we decided not to share. She regularly checked up on us and refilled our waters. She was the FIRST server at any Benihana to give my boyfriend free ice cream. My boyfriend always order the same thing which is the Rockys choice and she said when you get two or more meats you get free ice cream and that has never been offer to him and we have been to plenty Benihana. Now I know to start demanding for the ice creams since he has been cheated on his ice cream for so long. Interior of the restaurant needed some improvements. The floor / carpet was dirty for it to be early. Some of the tables seem like they haven't been wipe down good enough. There was an annoying fly that was flying around which was a turn off. Their employees here goes in and out the front door every minute which bringing in flies in the restaurant. Yuck! My food was okay not the best so therefore I think I will stick to the Benihana by Lake Buena Vista instead. read more

There were so many people waiting to get a table--felt like this was the spot to be -the colossal shrimp tasted great! Get that over the regular-shrimp (I had both) Cons: -long wait. Made a reservation at 7:45. Arrived on time, but had to wait till 8 to get seated. While visiting Orlando for a couple days, my coworkers and I decided to visit this location for dinner. I've been wanting to try this brand for a long time, so I was really excited. I've have been eating food prepared this way over 10 years, so I knew exactly what to expect. We arrived for our reservation pretty close to on time, but had to wait (our fault) so we decided to sit at the bar. Inside was decorated really nicely, the floors were clean, and the bar looked to be fully stocked, The bartender was nice, and our drinks were great. What I didn't like, was that we had to pay before we left the bar to go to our table. Now, on to the food. Standard fare for a hibachi style restaurant. What was explained is that we needed to upgrade to chicken fried rice because it tasted so much better. Usually when I order, I omit the veggies and opt for extra rice in place of them. Here, you can't do that! You have to pay for another order of rice!!! Also, to upgrade the rice is $6.49. So I ordered the shrimp as an entree along with the rice, and the veggies (since I couldn't get extra rice.) The soup was very different, a beef broth instead of the usual chicken. I was not given an option for dressing on my salad, so I tried the salad with the ginger, it was horrible! Our chef was really nice, and interacted with us while cooking. The food lacked flavor, and also have small portions. It is also a tad bit on the pricey side compared to other hibachi style restaurants. Would I return? Most likely not. Excellent! I've made it a tradition for over 20 yrs to celebrate my birthday at Benihana. This has been one of the best experiences thus far. Our server Antonio was SUPERB! So friendly and attentive. When you go to a place like Benihana's you go for excellent food and for the show by the Chef preparing your food in front of you. While our Chef was a sweet Japanese Man and I hate to say it but I could have been more entertaining than his showmanship was with knives and cooking. Basically we sat at our table waited for our food to cook, paid, and left. $251 with tip for a meal I could have cooked at home for $50 or less. There was no atmosphere at our table of joy and fun. Some of the other tables were really having a good time with their Chef. We could see and hear them but our table was a tomb of silence while their Chef was hollering and laughing. We wanted that fun too. We have invited this restaurant before but it has been probably 5 years due to travel restrictions and COVID. I was very shocked at the drop in quality of such a reputable restaurant. You have the choice of 5 or 6 courses. I don't understand they courses. We were served Salad, Soup, Rice, Meat, then Vegetables. Are each of these considered a course? We all ordered the 5 course dinner. If you are wanting a knife show with your dinner this isn't the best choice. We had reservations for 8 pm. Upon entry we were told they were running behind 30 minutes. At 45 minutes I went to the front and was told we were next. They continued to seat three sets of people when I then went up again and over an hour after our reservation we were seated. Never received the appetizer until our food was completely out and asked three times for it and it was cold. Food itself was good and hot although he forgot our mushrooms until all Food was done. I know there can be staffing issues however this seemed like a management issue. Been here quite a few times in the 6yrs that I've lived in Orlando and have never had a bad time, bad food or bad service. The salad with the Ginger dressing?! I'm not even into salads like that, but I'll throw down this little side dish of Asian salad heaven. The clear soup, so simple, yet so yummmm. Perfect starters before the entree. The hibachi chicken rice and chateaubriand are my lifeline. The chateaubriand is so tender, juicy and full of flavor, it's as if it just melts in your mouth. The texture and the cut of meat is just superb. I also recommend the yakisoba. A night out with family or friends teppanyaki style, or a afternoon lunch in the lounge, either way, the service and food will not disappoint. Make reservations if you plan to come during the busier hours, evening dinner and especially the weekends. If not during the day for lunch (which is done serving at 3pm), you can usually find a seat in the lounge. Parking is available in the parking lot or nearby lots. Overall a good experience but the food was hit and miss. The Ocean Treasure that consisted of scallops, shrimp and lobster tail was excellent. Cooked perfectly. The Imperial Steak not so much. I asked for rare and it was medium rare so I didn't enjoy it at all. It was hard and chewy which was a total let down. Great food and an interesting experience We have been to many Hibachi restaurants over the years. This is one of my favorite chains of them. This is located along the west side of I-drive to the north of World Center Drive. It is fairly easy to get in and out with the traffic. There is parking all around the restaurant but it can be difficult to find a space on busy days. We called ahead and was told we could walk in. We checked with the hostess and waited about 5- 10 minutes for 2 more people to make a full party. We were seated at opposite ends of the table. There is an online menu but I would recommend asking for the lunch menu as the prices are lower (if you are there for lunch). The entrance and restaurant are very nice and clean. We ordered hibachi chicken and Hibachi filet and asked for he fried rice upgrade. The chef came out quickly and did a good presentation and show and was very pleasant. Out waitress did not come by very often and our check took some corrections from the manager due to a mixup. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I haven't been to Benihana in over 10 years and my most recent experience reminded me why I stick with Kobe's. Expect to wait even if you have a reservation. The check in process is very chaotic and unorganized. The tables are incredibly small and you barely have any room between you and the person you're seated next too. This makes for a very uncomfortable dinner as you have no room to move or enjoy your dinner. The food is good but the portion sizes are SMALL! The meal doesn't come with noodles or fried rice like Kobe's. You have to pay extra for fried rice which is insane. I didn't even have enough for left overs which is unheard of when getting hibachi. The drinks are over priced as well. I ordered a martini from the bar that was okay. Overall, stick to Kobe's if you want good service and quality food. read more

Our chef was exciting as he did some awesome art with his craft of cooking. The spicy chicken was incredible. I have had the hibachi teriyaki chicken places before but nothing like the spicy. The sauce that the chicken was cooked in was perfectly spiced. Prices were reasonable, the only complaint I would point out is that a few of us did not order the extra chicken fried rice but they charged us and gave it to us anyway. Be aware when they ask about the rice if you are on a budget. The overall atmosphere was exciting and fun. The waiter began to argue that "he's sure the tuna roll was on the plate"....he had already cleared the table but to argue with me about it was kind of crazy. When spending 400 on dinner I promise you I'm not lying over a 12 dollar sushi roll. The waiter then went on to ensure we knew that he splits the tip with the chef and was making comments about tipping high. I thought this to be odd as well as the others sitting at our table. Update during covid-19: felt safe with clean and top-notch service. We wanted to get in a quick lunch before going to the outlets and called ahead to make sure there was availability. The gentleman on the phone was super accommodating and we were able to be seated upon arrival. They enforce social distancing at the table and limit the amount of guests to make it safe for everyone. Sat at a hibachi table with one other guest so the three of us were able to space out and sit on opposite ends of the table. The chef wears disposable gloves before cooking as well, so that was good to see all the precautions being taken. Like I said, we really had great service here and I'd like to recognize our server Ryan and chef Oliver. They were the friendliest and most attentive servers we had in a long time so it really made our visit great :) I said it before but I'll say it again. Lunch menu is always the way to go at Benihanas! We always opt for the lunch duet. For under $20, you get a lot and it's so worth it. Comes with two mains (I got the beef julienne and shrimp. I have not been here in a while, I'm very surprised as to how dirty the place has become. Floors, tables, the bathroom is really disgusting. I'm thinking of walking out! Staff in the kitchen are wearing their mask below their nose in the middle of this pandemic. The sign hanging in the dining room by the bar is super filthy, don't look up in this place, it's like eating on a dirty floor. Why did they let this place that used to be so great become like this!
