Absolutely awful experience and management did not seem to care. To start our server was either drunk or high and got sent home in the middle of our meal after dropping a tray of dishes. From there the food was not great and other servers pitched in but we were mostly ignored. When it came to leave we had to flag down a manager to get our bill. Gave them a card and proceeded to wait about 10 minutes before having to go find another manager to see what was happening. Told the manager about our experience and he apologized briefly before walking away doing absolutely nothing. Hands down the most frustrating and terrible dinning experience. We ordered to-go since we weren't looking to dine in. The food tasted great and was presented nicely. We ordered the crunchy shrimp roll and hibachi for two with added steak. My only concern was the portion for the hibachi rice for 2 was more portioned of one. And the amount of chicken and steak we got didn't seem like we got same amount of meat if we had only gotten one. Smelled wonderful from the parking lot... after we were sat, we were greeted by a hostess who, instead of welcoming us, went through a list of all of the extra fees and up charges that we were going to experience. If we wanted fried rice instead of white steamed rice- that's an extra $7/per person, so for a family of 4, that's $28. Drinks not included. If we wanted the salad and soup that comes with your meal at every other Japanese Steakhouse, you guessed it- it's an extra $7, so for our group of 4, we are now up to almost $75 and we've not even ordered our extremely overpriced meal yet. We have been to many many hibachi restaurants even other Benihana and samurai restaurants in Miami. But this was hands down the best experience I have ever had. From the waiter ANTONIO he was very on top of things. Working hard to make sure we had everything we needed and getting the order perfectly. We were 10 with 5 kids and he didn't miss a beat. Friendly and a delight. He is a must have. Then there was the cook TAHN. Like I said before I have been to lots other hibachi but this food was exquisite. The meat was cooked to order the vegetable was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portions were huge but hey who ever complains about that. I will be back and make sure I ask for this pair again. I am going to leave a completely honest review about my experience at the Benihana located in Orlando, FL off of International Dr. We made a reservation for my birthday dinner on our vacation to Orlando with the family. There were six of us having dinner tonight. We showed up a few minutes before our reservation and were put on wait for seating. This was the least of our problems because we did end up being seated about 15-20 minutes after check in. Let me just list the problems with our service and this restaurant to save you the details of our experience. -Ordered Sushi for my 8 y/o and it never came out -There is a $6.50 up charge for fried rice vs steamed white rice (never seen this before and I live in a tourist town that has at least 8 of the same style/concept restaurant) -They Sat my 70 y/o father in the corner of our booth but the corner had no back rest so we had to move. -My sister ordered Softshell Crab as an appetizer and it came out *cold* after our Chef was halfway through cooking. -They asked at check in what the occasion was for our visit, we told them it was my birthday, after dinner my sister asked when they were doing the celebration song so she could be ready with camera, none of the staff she talked to were aware so she told them again. -Another thing about the birthday celebration from the staff, if you don't want to be screamed at then just keep your birthday to yourself. -I ordered fried rice for my daughter because she doesn't like white rice and for some reason they served her chicken fried rice along with her teriyaki chicken dinner. -We were told by our waitress that our sushi order from before and the soft shell crab was taken off our ticket because of the error. The waitress tried to pull a fast one on us by getting us to close our bill on her handheld device but we asked her to provide a paper receipt first. That's when we noticed that the two items above were still on our ticket. If we hadn't checked she would have charged us. This wasn't a mistake because she told us twice already that the manager himself removed those two items from our bill. -After that we went to ask the manager to come over. We told him about the billing issue from above. He told us he was unaware of the errors and said he'd remove them from our bill even though our waitress said he was already aware of this issue. Someone was not being honest. He also didn't apologize for anything. Just ran off quickly. -Our plates and bowls were never cleared the entire night until the end so we had a stack of plates and bowls in front of us all night. If you've ever eaten at a restaurant like this you know how little space there is for bowls, plates, sauce cups, drinks, napkins and silverware all at the same time. At one point in time my sister sitting at the end of the table had a stack of bowls beside her and was holding a plate in her hand because there was nowhere available to put it. -When the chef came out to review our orders he failed to mention my wife's order. I asked him about it. He disappeared for a minute and returned stating he had no order for her. We told him she ordered chicken with a side of scallops. He left again and returned with her order. Our waitress failed to enter her order. This was my first and last visit to Benihana's. Also I need to mention that the two other people at our table had three issues as well. I have been in the service industry for over 25 years and I understand that people can have bad days but something is off at this place. READ the other reviews. Stay away from this place. I don't know if this is an isolated issue or franchise wide but you lost me Benihana. I am an influencer who will never promote your restaurant until you can prove me wrong, but that's going to be nearly impossible being that I'll never return. Fix your franchise. read more

I love Amira the server and Kenny the chef. They are the reasons we kept coming back. We love Benihana food and eat Benihana at least once a week. We usually buy friends and family gift cards for holidays. We've been to them all around the county. You could say we are huge fans. However more often than not our reservation isn't honored. They are short staffed ALL THE TIME. We drive 40 minutes to get to this location and having to wait another 30 minutes to an hour passed our reso is just not acceptable. To make matters worse, they don't compensate you. Like I'm sorry but if you make people wait a very long time passed their reservation an appetizer or something should be comped. Aside from the short staffing and long waits the service (unless you get certain good servers Like Amira) is horrible. For instance Ice cream comes with our meals. On more than one occasion They tried to just bring the check without offering us our ice cream. The one time I asked for it I was told "that's fine you can have your ice cream but it'll be awhile". Wtf?! You best get a chef that knows their stuff too because if not your shrimp won't be cleaned. I recommend Kenny. I'm venting because after leaving my house over and hour ago I'm on my way to the other Benihana location in the Hilton. My toddlers are crying from hunger. So I'm annoyed. Benihana is consistently great for quality meats and seafood, friendly service with a fun, hibachi show! The atmosphere is always festive, no matter which location we try. It is one of our favorite restaurants and a family tradition to dine here for all of our birthdays! I mentioned to the manager, Jose, that we are loyal customers visiting from out of town, and I was celebrating a birthday tonight. Usually when I go to a hibachi restaurant I always order their sushi, but this place has just changed the game for me. If you're concerned about the prices... it's worth it. Hear me out: hibachi tuna steak. It came with: soup and salad, white rice, a few pieces of shrimp, steak, and hibachi veggies. I'm extremely picky about tuna. I always have high expectations, so I specifically picked this meal to rate their tuna. The tuna steak was so tender!!! It exceeded all of my expectations. All of my friends were drooling at my meal, because it looked phenomenal. I paired this meal with the exotic mojito. A very refreshing drink for the FL heat and humidity. Our service was also excellent. Our waiter was attentive and answered all of our questions. He was so nice!! You have been warned. Do not visit this restaurant. I don't even know where to begin. We arrived at 4:30 on a Monday thinking it wouldn't be as crowded. There were not many people here and we were told 15-20 minute wait. After waiting 20 minutes and seeing several groups go ahead of us, we asked why we had not been seated yet. The waitress told us we could be seated in the lounge. We were starving and just wanted to eat so we said okay. We waited another 10 minutes before someone came to take our order. My two children ordered teriyaki chicken from the kids menu and my husband ordered tofu noodles and I ordered two side dishes (chicken and rice and edamame). We wait another 30 minutes and the food finally arrives but doesn't have any rice with it. My kids are literally starving. We wait another 10 minutes while I tried to track someone down to ask about the rice. The manager comes over to apologize about the missing rice and gets some for us, telling us that he would comp the rice. Husband's food arrives around 10 minutes later. I'm still waiting for my chicken and rice dish. It's been over an hour now and I just want the food that I ordered. I ask the waitress for the side dish and she eventually brings it out but it is slightly burnt with no seasoning or sauce so all I taste is the burnt rice and I can barely eat it. The ambience was poor (think loud and crowded), service was terrible (not blaming any particular waiter because we had several but maybe that was part of the problem), and the food was not good. My neighborhood hibachi to go place is 10x better than here. When we got our bill, I had expected to be charged for two kid entrees, one vegetarian entree, and the edamame (assuming the manager has kindly taken off my side order because of the long wait and hassle with the forgotten rice for the entrees). I was shocked to see the bill was over $100. They had charged my two kids the adult price of $32/piece plus charged us three additional chicken rice side dishes for $6.40/each which we never ordered. Yes he comped some of the bill for us but we were also charged an unexpected $20 and an additional $13 for rice we didn't order that should have come with the meals. When we ordered our meal, the waiter specifically gave us a kids menu and that's what we pointed to when we ordered for them. I asked the waiter about the bill but she pointed to the comp amount, saying we had been given what we were told we would receive. Please beware of coming here. I have never felt this upset with a restaurant. We had such a horrible experience here with the poor ambience, slow service, bad food that this last thing - the high unexpected bill when we had expected to be given a discount for all the trouble we had was what gives this place zero stars from us. Tip for management: do not give families a kids menu if you do not intend to let the kids order from that menu. Both of my children pointed to what they wanted when they ordered and yet we were charged for adult entrees. Also, be honest with wait times. They ask what you are celebrating in the beginning and we told Aaliyah (our server) about his birthday plus I put it in the notes on the reservation.
