They have an entire section of authentic Maine items from ice cream to desserts and maple syrup. They have an entire fridge if you are pulling together a quick charcuterie board. We were looking for items to make s'mores, and the staff was so kind. They ran out of marshmallows, and one of the staff members went into the back to look, and the man at the registered offered to call a few stores around Kennebunkport to check for us. Outside? For what? The place was empty. When I asked why, he said it was because it was a small space. At that exact moment, two fellow tourists walked in, heard him tell me to leave, exchanged the universal "nope" look, and immediately turned around and walked back out. I can't say I blamed them. By that point I was so uncomfortable that I asked to cancel my order. He refused. So there I was--banished to the sidewalk in extreme heat, unable to cancel, waiting for my egg sandwich. I'll admit, my imagination started running wild about why I apparently wasn't allowed to witness its preparation. I'm sure there are innocent explanations, but being told to leave an empty restaurant while your food is being made isn't exactly confidence-inspiring. The sandwich itself was...fine. Perfectly ordinary. The proportions were not generous in terms of egg to bread ratio. Definitely not memorable enough to justify the price, and unfortunately I'd already left a tip before the hospitality portion of the experience began. If your business model is "Please leave while we make your food, but also you can't cancel it," you may want to rethink customer service. Kennebunkport has no shortage of places to eat. I'd recommend choosing literally any of the ones where you're allowed to exist indoors while waiting for your breakfast sandwich.

Bennett's has the most mouth-watering and delectable sandwiches served by the most friendly staff. The staff remembers your order, smiles, and engages you as they take and remember your order. That staff member then personally makes the order and makes sure you receive it timely. Lastly, when dining at Bennett's in the quaint inside or if you are enjoying their fun picnic tables outside during the off-hours, staff will come outside to check on your dining experience. I've been eating at Bennett's for years and was surprised to learn that the business had been sold. I had been in multiple times this year before learning that there were new owners and I had noticed no difference at all! Great job new owners! We've always loved the sandwiches here and continue to find a great sandwich at a great price. For those unfamiliar with Bennett's, be prepared for a huge sandwich with great ingredients and the best bread you'll ever find on a sub.
