I went to this place when it first opened and was merely a take out place! I raved about the delicious calzones and the owner seemed nice and thankful for our business. We moved out of state for a few years and are not back and to our surprise this place has become a full blown restaurant/bar! We were there in the summer and ordered tow pizzas. One was perfect, but the other was not. It had to be remade and took an additional 25 minutes. . The people I was was with were finished and ready to go before I even had my dinner served. Not that big of a deal but for that long of a wait, one would think that they would offer us a free round or a couple bucks off. Nope! Not a dime. I don't often give a 5-star rating to a restaurant where the service is as wildly uneven as this. We eat there regularly, and we have had at least 3 meals comped because they botched our order so thoroughly. When they weren't screwing up the order, the service pretty frequently is on the slow side. Be prepared to invest a decent chunk of time if you are dining in. And yet, I give it a 5-star rating, despite all of these problems. We continue to go back despite the screw-ups. The food really is just that good to make you look beyond the sometimes frustrating service. We have tried every different part of their menu --- pasta, sandwiches, calzones, and pizza --- and it is all just spectacular. Their ingredients are second to none, and the pepperoni is as good as any I have ever tasted. I wish I had pepperoni like that when I make my own pizzas at home. Our daughter finds it hard to enjoy pizza at any other venue, because the pizzas at Bennidito's have so thoroughly spoiled her. The place is usually packed --- certainly this does not help the service to be any more speedy --- but obviously there are plenty of people who agree with me that the end product allows you to overlook the annoyances of the place. Order the double pepperoni, it is absolutely fantastic! It is tough for a pizza place to get it right on all 3 parts of a pizza (dough, sauce, and toppings) and this place hits the mark on all three! The dough is homemade and hand tossed, the sauce certainly tastes homemade and it is baked to perfection. Wish I had a more positive review to write as I was hoping to find a good pizza in Spokane. Unfortunately Beniditto's isn't the one. It could have been though as all the essentials seemed to be there. The salami , sausage and pepperoni appeared to be of high quality (large rounds and real links) and the crust had an appealing lift in the perimeter. The two pies I ordered delivered to our mid town hotel arrived an hour late. The boxes appeared crinkled up, caved in and highly stained (greasy fingerprints and blotches). Both pies were burnt black top and bottom and the grease had seeped through the box soiling the counter. The large pie had folded over on itself as if the box had fallen or flipped. The antipasti salad looked like a mish mash of whatever pizza toppings were available, diced into tiny pieces then drenched in oil. I could not eat this. I'd never seen anything like it. Looking for an explanation I asked the driver what happened, I assumed he'd been in a car wreck or something. No, he had no explanation either for his two hour delivery time or the abhorrent condition of the food. He was a nice kid, I felt sorry for him but could not justify paying $60 plus for this mess. read more

Did not get what i ordered. Online plain wings is an option. I received spicy wings. When i called i was told that they dont have plain and what i received was as plain as the can make them. Several times we have been here and the service has been VERY slow. Always looks like they are short staffed. Servers look exhausted and frustrated and it takes forever to get noticed when we sit down. We have been patient with the bad service in the past because the food is great. However,last night we had to just walk out. One server was standing behind the register, watched us sitting and made no effort to greet us or tell anyone else to. Another server was standing in the back texting on her phone. What looked like a manager came out from the back and warmly greeted someone who came in after us while we still sat with no acknowledgement whatsoever. No food is worth that kind of treatment. Absolutely APPALLING, friends and I went in for dinner, paid 18.00 for one pitcher and ordered wings for an appetizer and pizza for dinner. Pizza came out before the wings and had to cancel them. Then we had to send the pizza back because it was swimming in grease. A female server, who was not our server, came over and was incredibly rude. We then heard her making fun of us to the table next to us, so rude and unprofessional and degrading. I have been a customer for a long time and I normally really like this place. I ordered a pizza for delivery 2 weeks ago and they accepted my order, but it turns out they had closed for delivery. They sent out a meat pizza (to my vegetarian household) and said they had closed & we couldn't get a replacement pizza. I called the next day for a refund and they accused me of trying to scam them to get free pizzas, but ultimately agreed to mail me a refund check (instead of just refunding my credit card, for some reason). They never mailed the check so my spouse went in today and they had never sent the check and again accused us of trying to steal pizza. Worst customer service we've seen. I really wanna love this place with all my heart but the main problem lies with the service. I have been there a handful of times and about half the time they get my order wrong? Why can't they write down orders? They usually only have 1 waiteress at a time even when the place is packed there are a couple of people loitering around the taps? What gives. I waited at least 20 good minutes tpo get a to go box and pay my check. Don't get me wrong , the pizza is tops and the wings are heaven but one call only handle so much neglect. I hadn't been to Bennidito's in a couple of years, so I was excited to return for some delicious food last night. I was very disappointed in the lack of service (and lack of food) that my friend and I received. Our attempt to eat at Bennidito's last night was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Our waitress started apologizing for the wait about half an hour after we ordered our food and she continued to tell us every 20 minutes or so that our food was almost done. She told us that she had already yelled at the kitchen staff because of how far behind they were. My food (well, part of what I ordered) came out after an hr and 20 minutes. At an hour and 50 minutes, the waitress came out and apologized again, saying that we were "good to go" and that she would be comping our food. When I brought up that my friend's food still hadn't arrived, she smiled, shrugged, and said that she knew. She told us that she didn't know was going on in the kitchen, but the rest of our food was not going to be cooked. She let us know that my food would be comped and said that hopefully the manager would come out and apologize to us. She then said that she would be right back with some vouchers and a to-go box for the food that she did bring. We left after about 15 more minutes of waiting, as she never returned. Needless to say, we also will not be returning to the restaurant. read more

Live really close by so by wife and I had to finally check it out! It was really noisy, which might be expected on a Saturday night. Food took a while and we were forgotten about more than once. The pizza itself was pretty great! Generous toppings and great cheese! Although the price was a bit steep. $36 for two hard ciders and a pizza to split. I called twice to see what took so long and why no call was made to me about delay. I got nothing. I tried to speak to management but sounded like he put the phone down. Food is great (pizza, cheese bread, salads are all solid), but the service has been really poor over the last year, especially for take out orders. The "front side of the house" used to function well, but now you can't tell who is leading the ship. We often do take out and they'll say 30 minute wait and then it ends up 15-30 minutes beyond that. Nice beer selection. Small, but nice. The service is HORRIBLE at this place. On a late Saturday afternoon they had 2 wait staff on duty...no bartender. I waited sitting at the bar for over 10 minutes before I had to basically scream for a beer. I came to order a take-away pizza. Nobody even made eye contact with me. Friggn weird. A patron sitting at the bar next to me sensed my frustration and called Chris over. I guess he was the owner. He said, " You wanna order something?" No smile, no apology for the horrible service....Just an arrogant attitude. The pizza arrived quickly. This pizza is just a bready dough bomb. If this place had any local competition Bennidito's would be shut down in a week. I really dont like patronizing the large chain pizza places, but I would buy Domino's for the rest of my life before I spend another cent with these self-important morons. Stay away. Great pizza when they get it right. Very good when they don't. The only thing keeping Bennidito's from getting 5 stars, like David's, is their inconsistency. I've had them undercooked and center loaded (all the goodies are in the middle and the outer 3 inches are just dough.) Not a big deal if you're eating in, totally bites if you're getting it delivered. Fix the consistency issues and this is my go-to pizza place. Till then, David's has the edge. read more

The beer buddies are to die for! I recommend getting those and then a small pizza to share because that'll fill you up! The pizza, calzones, and pasta dishes are all really tasteful! The only downfall is, if you go on a busy night the service is really slow. But only because they generally have one server working the whole place. Would highly recommend though! read more

This place COULD be AMAZING. However, the staff kinda ruins the dining experience as they are inattentive, and can often be quite cantankerous. Just a few anecdotes for your consideration. One one occasion, I was dining there on the patio with my parents and girlfriend. We ordered a Florentine, which is usually a lovely pizza. However, when our order did finally arrive it was a completely different pizza that we hadn't ever ordered in the many times we've eaten there. The waitress insisted that WE DID indeed order that type of pizza and that WE had made the mistake. Wow!!! I've never seen a waitress blame her mistake on the customer, quite disrespectful especially since it was her word against four people that knew what pizza was ordered. Mind you the waitress never actually wrote our order down on paper and once she finally realized we weren't going to be bullied into eating a pizza we never ordered she offered to retake our order and let us wait another half hour for our order to arrive. One would assume that at least one of the pizzas would be on the house considering that's the courtesy most restaurants would provide. Instead, the waitress took half the price off the pizza that she insisted we ordered and never even ate since it had meat on it and my girlfriend and I are vegetarian. On another occasion, my girlfriend and I were dining there and in the middle of our meal overheard one of the waitresses LOUDLY complaining in the dining room to another employee that "I just can't afford to work here anymore, nobody knows how to tip in this town!" People in this town, like any other, tip for service that makes them feel taken care of and perhaps pampered a bit. This place will most certainly leave you feeling neither. Also, their delivery is a joke and the pizzas seems to have been sitting around for a LONG time before they arrive. If this place could just hire some decent servers I would have a much different review to offer, but the service has been bad for years now and I don't see it changing anytime soon. The pizza is pretty good, but the service completely ruins the experience more often than not and I will no longer be giving them my business as they don't seem to appreciate it anyways. read more

I have lived in Spokane my whole life and seen restaurants come and go, but this one has always been where it is. I hope it never leaves because it is the best pizza you will ever be able to find. I traveled a lot in my life and this still holds true. Nothing can beat this place. If I could give it six stars I would. One thing you must understand about it though is that they go through an almost constant change of staff. Over the course of 20 years, there has only been one employee that I recognize and that's Bennidito himself. The others have come and gone, but somehow the food has stayed nearly identical to how it has always been--incredible. So, you may not always get consistent service, but you always get incredible pizza. read more

Take out. No problems. The pizza tasted good, if not amazing. The size of the medium is quite large. We got a pepperoni and a "Boogie Fever" pizza which is Italian sausage, mushrooms and onions. Overall a high quality pizza. Service was fine -our order was ready exactly when they said it would be. Regarding the complaints about the service: every restaurant has hickups from time to time. We were given good service. The only reason why I haven't given them 4 stars is because the pizza, while good, wasn't amazing. I don't think there are too many places with 4 star pizza. read more
