Trying to use the drive thru. Waited for 5 minutes with no answer. Reported this to the cashier and met with a "it's working". Proceeded to wait 20 minutes for 4 cold tacos. How this place stays in business is a modern miracle. read more

Saw the sign with 2 tacos for $1.75, figured why not. Got to work to eat my food and very small portions. Ordered carne guisada and cheese. Only three pieces of meat. Ordered chorizo and potato. Opened the taco and it was only potato. Never going back. read more

The restaurant needs a deep cleaning. The cooks/service is VERY slow. Long wait to get your food. Wait staff has an uncaring attitude and lack motivation. Overall poor service. I will not be returning. There are other places to enjoy good food and good service. read more

I used to love this place, but I was treated very rudely by the girl who waited on me. She was mad about something because she kept throwing glass dishes in the basket she was using to bus tables. She never came to check on my food to see if everything was okay after I got my order. The order was wrong (of course!!). I had to ask for hot sauce, because they don't think white people like it I guess!! I also had to ask for to-go containers or I would have sat there forever. I'm from New York Visiting San Antonio first time going over there with my family it was pretty dead in the place however the staff were friendly. We ordered food I ordered a Puffy Tacos when they brought the food out to us and I was just about to take the first bite of my food there was a bug that was in my food and informed the waitress of it owner came out with the rest of the waitress apologize for the inconvenience and the meal was free. read more

Their drive thru service needs updating. Service inside has always been fast and friendly. Best breakfast plates in town. Very reasonably priced, the best flour tortillas. My favorite item is their menudo. It is so much better than most places and NOT swimming in grease. Great broth, good amount of meat, just need more hominy for me. Their chilaquiles tacos are great. Very decent fajita tacos for $2.25, a lot of meat and the beef is tender. I am from Houston so I am very picky about my Mexican food, but I think the average person would be happy. We picked up tacos to go which took 25 minutes, which is not a big deal to me if the food was good but we ended up getting the worst tacos I've ever ordered! A Mexican restaurant in San Antonio has to deliver on barbacoa and this place didn't. It was all fat globs with no flavor. Everything was bland, breakfast potatoes with no salt, refried beans with no flavor. Kids were happy with their breakfast tacos. Chicken fried steak was a bit of insult to chicken fried steak with greasy breading that didn't stay on and was incredibly thick compared to the meat inside. Toast was served dry with no butter or jelly provided. We won't be back. read more

I ordered beef enchiladas and they looked like cheese enchiladas so I cut into them to check saw only cheese so I let the waitress know. She brought my same plate back with them stuffing a little picadillo in them. Gross someone actually put their hands on my food. read more

As far as breakfast tacos go, Benny's gives you good food at GREAT prices. Plus, it's location makes it sooooooo convenient!

It's a hit and a miss kinda place. Sometimes you go through drive thru and get the right order other times you order 6 bean and cheese and 2 carne guisada and you end up with 6 chicken fajita tacos and 2 carne. Worst service experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I would say that the food is mediocre but that may even be an over-statement. The service even WORSE. The workers have miserable expressions throughout the restaurant and the cashier even had the nerve to be so RUDE about honoring a military discount. I've never been so offended and disrespected by a cashier. This place is not any cheaper than comparable restaurants in the vicinity. I would not waste another lunch hour here. Great breakfast prices before 11am u get 2 tacos for 1.50 and they are pretty quick but to be honest wasn't really impressed with the tacos because the tortillas were rubbery I have yet to find a place that's close and good probly won't return here..... read more

One of my new favorite places to go for Mexican food! So far I have had the enchiladas, the chicken fried steak and the breakfast tacos. Everything was incredible!
