    Dear Lisa, Hello! This email serves to present my recommendation for your employee J.R. to be the new store manager of Southport. I am a longtime customer of your grand operations, first beginning with the LaSalle location, now shopping between Desplaines and Wells. THE REASON for my allegiance to Bentley's is J.R. I know not his last name, but I know a beautiful human and employee when I see one. And J.R. is la crème de la crème! He represents Bentley's as though he is the owner. I watch the manner in which he interacts with customers, with dogs, and with fellow employees. He is phenomenal. It all began almost four years ago when my dear dog Gwendolyn needed four 32-ounce goat milks weekly to comply with her holistic health plan to manage cancer. J.R. worked above and beyond to ensure fulfillment of my orders. And my little Gwendolyn loved to scream at him for treats, interrupting other customers to do so; and J.R. handled this very demanding little dog with sophistication and love, all whilst properly tending to the customers who were first in queue! I had not seen J.R. in quite some time (so happy that Chetara came into our lives during J.R.'s work at your other stores). And then one day recently, it was like magic! He had returned and remembered everything about my Gwendolyn. Sadly she had gone to heaven in April, and he replied, "I am so sorry. She was the bossiest dog in River North." Oh! How he made me so happy to reminisce of my girl. And of course, I am now the mother to Gwendolyn's clone. Her name is Claudette, and when J.R. met her last week, he exclaimed, "Woa! Did you hire Dr. Frankenstein to make this happen?" It was hysterical. Attached is a picture from last night, of J.R. treating my Claudette. I understand that he applied for the managerial position at Southport, and the decision has yet to be made. In my opinion, there is no decision but yes. He is the best fit for the job. I shall leave a Yelp and Google review with this information as well. Thank you so much for sharing J.R. with your customers. Rest assured, my Claudette and I shall adventure to Southport if J.R. receives this well earned promotion. Oh so gratefully, Nicole Marie Story

    What a great variety of all things for your pet. A ton of well priced clothing, toys etc etc. It's worth a stop!

    I shop here all the time. Prices are comparable to the major chains but customer service is far better.

    I finally decided to give Petco another chance for a grooming appointment for my 7lb dog after…read morebeing cancelled on four separate time. yes, four times! and always on the day of the appointment. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a terrible decision. When I picked up my dog after his grooming appointment, I noticed nothing unusual at first. However, later that day, I saw him licking his paw non stop. Upon closer inspection, I was horrified to find an injury with visible redness between his tiny toes. Petco never mentioned anything about hurting my dog, which made their lack of transparency even more appalling. I called them the next day (as it was late when I discovered the injury) and was told the manager wasn't available. The employee I spoke with said they'd need to contact upper management to determine what to do. A day went by before I got a call back, only to be told the same thing. I informed them I was traveling to Vegas, and they promised to let me know which vet I could take my dog to. The condition was that if the vet determined the injury was Petco's fault, they would cover the costs. If not, they wouldn't do anything--not even offer a refund for the grooming service. To make matters worse, they never called me back as promised. I disputed the charge with my bank, and now Petco is fighting the dispute, knowing full well they hurt my dog. This is not just poor service--it's outright negligence. I will find the appropriate channels to hold Petco accountable because this treatment is unacceptable. Our pets deserve better care, honesty, and respect.

I am a longtime customer of your grand operations. Having watched your empire grow magnificently whilst keenly observing the high turnover of managerial staff of River North, I know what your store needs to continue with growth and excellence. And that answer is Jermaine. Jermaine expressed grand interest in this managerial position. But I have been told, by anonymous concerned parties, that Krisers is hiring from outside of the company. This "fact" of outside hiring is insulting to both the local customers and to Jermaine. Jermaine is one of THE MAIN REASONS that my puppies passionately drag me to the shop daily. His kindness radiates. His enthusiasm shines to Pluto and back! From an operational perspective, he, by far, surpasses all prior managerial workmanship. He is strong, smart, and tireless. A salesman who cares. He represents your brand as though he is the owner himself. I observe the manner in which he interacts with dog customers, human customers, and fellow employees. I took my dog in for a groom yesterday and it's completely botched. Her ears are uneven and mismatched. There are blunt cuts made everywhere. Her booty trim wasn't completed. The former groomers (Jocelyn and another gentleman, I forget his name) were much more talented and I believe are at other Kriser locations now. I will be taking the time to visit those stores instead for grooming services rather than going back to Rachael.

My Australian shepherd has long beautiful hair. He had a few mats under his neck from his collar and I said it was ok to shave off if unable to brush. But I specifically said, do not shave his fur! It's his air conditioning and we are heading into summer, I picked him up and the guy had shaved his entire body to 1/2 inches!!! Here is before and after. I am crying. I still paid but I'm so upset! I know it will grow back but damn! It's like he decided to shave him because it was easier than brushing. Which is what I needed help with. Never never NEVER again!!! We should have expected a horrible experience when our dog could not wait to get out there upon pickup! Over the next couple of days, we found several red marks on her body under her fur, clearly a sign of overly rough brushing and grooming. It took weeks for the marks to heal completely. We called the store and spoke to the manager about the store taking responsibility and paying for her vet bills. We were asked for her medical records following her vet visit. At first, the manager told us that her medical records show a history of allergies, which could cause the red marks. This was a ridiculous assumption, as she's never had red marks due to her allergies! She had been groomed several times before without issue! After some back and forth, we were told that they would need to talk to their corporate office to determine liability. I kept calling for an answer after not hearing back, but never heard back. More than anything else, we were stunned by the gross incompetence shown by the groomers that they would brush her hard enough to give her red marks! Do not give Petsmart (especially its grooming salon) your business when there are so many amazing groomers throughout the city.

    I wanted to give zero but it's not an option…read more My husband took our husky to a grooming appointment at PetSmart, trusting that he would be in safe hands. Instead, he received a call that a pitbull had broken loose from its kennel and jumped into Marshy's kennel and attacked him. My dog sustained a neck wound and had to be rushed to the emergency veterinarian for treatment. After an emergency vet visit, tears, and a lot of shock, I brought my dog hurt, with a hole in his neck ungroomed. He sat in a kennel for 1 hr and 30 min before being attacked. Now he is recovering, but the hole in his neck keeps breaking open. I should not have to be dealing with this! No pet owner should have to go through this after leaving their dog somewhere they believed was safe. I'm heartbroken, shaken, and honestly very angry! I didn't get a call from the store manager to check on my dog. They didn't give a damn. PetSmart covered the initial vet bill, I have not been given a clear explanation of how this incident occurred. The store manager stated that there were scratches on the divider but could not explain how one dog was able to access another kennel. This raises serious concerns about facility safety and supervision. Don't take your dog to this shit hole or any petsmart for that matter.

I highly recommend taking your dog to Bibi she does a wonderful job! It's convenient how Petsmart has an app in which you can book your appointments there and also earn points.
