It nice to live near a neighborhood pet store that has people there that can give you real insight on toys, foods and treat for your pet. I have a cat and they, like most stores have a small amount (but effective) for felines, but of course have so much for dogs. I stopped into Wigglyville Pet Boutique and found the cutest bandana ever for my dogs birthday! The quality is great. adorable pattern, and it actually fits well (which is not always easy to find because hes 80 lbs!). You can tell everything in the store is carefully chosen and high quality. In the last ten years, I now have a dog-nephew in addition to my dog-niece. Yes, I bribe both for the favorite aunt role, though I'm their only aunt. They're both toy-loving dogs, so thank goodness for this store. It has a lot! Both dogs fight (play fight) with and/or whack each other toys and love on them until a toy loses an appendage or all its stuffing. My dog-nephew "mourns" when one of his favorites suddenly goes "missing" (trash). I think dog owners can relate. I was doing a couple of errands in the area and needed to complete my holiday shopping. It had been some time since I've been in here (pre-pandemic, maybe) and glad I stopped in. I got a couple of new toys for them and for a couple of friends' dogs. This is NOT for grooming services although after our visit I would never take our dog here anyways. We were on a walk Saturday morning with our golden doodle and we've been wanting to get him a new leash and collar so we stopped by inside. There were no other dogs or customers besides us. The worker greeted us from where he was sitting by the register. We looked at different leashes and collars and tried them on our dog. Then another customer came in with her doodle puppy and wow that worker sure got up super fast to help her out. Anyways. We tried on a different collar and leash and we had accidentally let go of it, the worker then criticized us for not holding onto our dog (which I can totally understand for safety issues), but it's not what was said it's HOW he said it. He then came and grabbed our dog and told us how we should hold him. Firstly, I'll admit yes we let go of the leash on accident but you don't need to talk down to us nor do I appreciate how you grabbed our dog. Our dog wasn't running around causing a ruckus and also we got him after what 1-2 seconds? Interesting how you spoke to us but then immediately spoke differently to the older lady customer. I have gone here for 8 years and love this place. Hollis and her team are wonderful and have great customer service. I recently discovered my dog had fleas. I stopped in to ask Hollis for advice and she gave me some flea shampoo for nothing! Dropped everything and came out to talk to me. She told me exactly what to do and then suggested an organic type spray for the fleas to purchase. I so appreciate the sense of urgency she had to help me. This is one example of personal attention you get from this business. Love the grooming services and my dog always looks fabulous after they are done! We've been taking our Siberian Husky/ Border Collie mix dog to the groomers because she is terrified of water and grooming her at home is traumatic for everyone. Once we started taking her to Wigglyville she started to look forward to her grooming appointments and gets excited when we get near the door. They are so kind and sweet with her, even our vet complimented how well she was groomed. Everyone we've ever interacted with at either locations have been great, and they carry many brands of food for our cats also. Although we now live in the suburbs, it's definitely worth the trip! read more

It's a shame because the grooming wasn't awful. However I have never met a more condescending woman (the groomer). The tone she used with me was unacceptable & it was shocking. Any question I answered while going over my wants/needs for my dogs grooming was followed up with a condescending response. We will not be returning. I had originally posted this review of Wigglyville Grooming under their pet store reviews and felt that it should be moved over under their grooming store. March 2014 I took my poodle Bella to Wigglyville yesterday for grooming at the recommendation of a relative. I absolutely can not rave enough about the service she received. I called on Saturday and they were able to schedule me for the very next day, Sunday with Corrine who specializes in this breed. I was told that she has 40 years experience and grooms show dogs. I was not disappointed. I have taken the 10 year old love of my life to a number of groomers over the years but this was by far the best she has every looked. Corrine did a fabulous job!!! Bella looked absolutely gorgeous and smelled heavenly. The entire staff there was friendly and very gentle with Bella who was a bit nervous. I have already booked her next visit. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. You won't be disappointed. March 2015 One year later and I am still absolutely thrilled with my poodles grooming at Wiggleyville. Bella gets groomed every 6 weeks and not once in the past year have I been disappointed. She continues to look gorgeous and smells great for at least 2 weeks after her spa day! The shop is adorable and ALWAYS spotlessly clean. Hollis and Corrine are amazing!!!! I cannot say enough good about Hollis's grooming skills. My pooch is a bit of a rare breed, and requires unique grooming techniques (stripping... and no, that doesn't mean he's naked!) Hollis has studied how he should be groomed, and what he should look like. She delivers everytime!! What I really appreciate is her feedback and info on things I might need to watch for. So professional! She doesn't just care about the appearance of the dog, but also the health. The best review of all - my dog happily walks in the store, rather than dig his paws in outside the front door - which he's done at every other groomer. read more

My puppy needed boots for all the salt and cold weather. Was really dreading bringing her in and trying them on. Had been to other stores (krisers) and received no help w sizing. However, someone in Oz park recommended Wigglyville and they were totally right. The staff immediately stopped what they were doing, and got down and helped me put them on my basset hound. (i'm only reviewing the self wash) I've been going before the pens were constructed in the self-wash area. If you're in the West Loop area it's the best (and only) self-wash place, dog-gone it. Con: self wash CLOSED ON MONDAYS. (i learned after $1.50 in the meter). Tip: bring your own shampoo and get a $2 discount. Cha-ching! The groomers might be great, but your receptionist needs training. I called for an appointment in March and book for May. The receptionist said he needed a $40 deposit to hold the appointment and that it would be applied to my final bill - ok. When I called to reschedule he said that my deposit was only applicable to the May appointment and I would lose my $40 if I needed to reschedule! That detail was not mentioned when I first booked. This is not a good way to get return business. Use the $40 to buy a book on customer services. read more

Grooming: Hollus is amazing! This morning I brought in a senior foster Yorkie/poodle mix (Dinky), that was incredibly neglected - appeared to have had no bath / hair trim / nail trim / ear pluck in a year! He had MATS MATS MATS all over his body and was just a sad little guy. I felt horrible for him! Hollus didn't seem put off by his condition or by how much work and time he would need with her. She was very kind and attentive, which was extremely comforting and reassuring, because I really wanted Dinky to get great care. AND GREAT CARE HE GOT! I really can't say enough about how fabulous my experience with Wigglyville was, and personally - I would go back to Hollus in a heart beat. She was very thorough and patient with DInky - giving him a couple breaks to chill and relax during the nearly 4 hour process! Despite ALL the mats, outrageously long nails and out of control hair - Dinky left Wigglyville looking SUPER handsome and sweet, styling a perfect cut! When I first saw him, I couldn't believe it was in fact him, and almost started crying at the thought of how neglected he was before. Best pet store in the city. They carry Stella & Chewy's, ORGANIC frozen or freeze dried dog food that is without a doubt the greatest dog food on the planet. I recommend the frozen 6lbs bag. Best bang for your buck. The freeze dried is great as well. I always have it when we travel. All you do is add water & boom...your pup has a perfectly healthy and ORGANIC meal on the go. :) They also offer a discount if you buy in bulk. Bonus! :) Staff is great, too. :) read more

I keep rating this place years later, still liking it. Has taken over as my only shop in the West Loop. Why? A week or so ago a waste bag holder we purchased needed to be replaced as it was faulty from manufacturer. The gentlemen working immediately appologized, found us the exact replacement, offered to bring it to us the next morning. I purchased waste bags at the same time- wait, I forgot my wallet. He knew I would come back and let me take them so I wouldn't be in a pinch after I left. So helpful, and needed! These guys are great, they are helpful, and the prices are exactly what I would expect for a smaller shop in the city. Keep going back! read more

I work at the Animal Care Center a few blocks away and stopped in after work today to kill some time before my husband picked me up. They have a great selection, and are much cheaper than our regular place for both Fromm, Orijen, and some of my Shepherd's favorite toys (and probably other stuff, but I didn't check). The man working was super awesome and entered me in the system, even though I didn't buy anything this time, to make things easier for next time. Loved this place!!! I live near their store in lake view and the owner told me about the new store and the self dog wash on Madison. Having a mastiff can get pretty expensive when getting him groomed. Sooo I thought doing it myself with all supplies for $20 dollars?!? Can't beat that! First off, the owner is great. She helped me all the way through the wash, this being my first time of course. Helped clean his ears, shampoo and condition. After the mess my big monster created you definitely realize it takes a good person to deal with that!! Ha Would recommend this place to anyone!!! I have taken my Labradoodle to Hollus for over a year and he's only 2, so this is half his life. She has been nothing but patient with him and me in the learning process in caring for doodle coats. Over the past year, she has helped me de-matte him, educated me on what I can do differently and also groomed him several times. Most recently, my pup had a minor injury from playing and Hollus couldn't have been more gentle in his groom so to not aggravate him or cause any pain. She provides my pup with extra time, because she knows his demeanor and need for a breaks every so often. Her skills are among the best in the business and I have had a few groomers poodle my doodle before I found Hollus. My dog is not the most accommodating dog during bathing/grooming (see my review of Wigglyville Store) and jumped during a groom and got a shorter than expected patch of hair. Hollus immediately notified me of the very minor difference, and in fact, I didn't even notice the difference. She could have very easily not told me and I would have been none the wiser. However, she knew and told me. Of additional importance to me, she does not use cage dryers! This is one reason why it takes longer, but it's entirely worth it not to traumatize my dog. I recommend her to all my doodle and non-doodle owners. She will remain my guy's groomer for as long as we are all in the City. read more

I've taken my pup to Hollis three times now since I got him (that's once every 10 weeks). I'm never going back. This place is 1) outrageously expensive 2) dishonest about their pricing 3) refuses to do basic requests such as nail trimming I asked to get his dew claws trimmed - not even his regular nails (since they get shortened on their own living in the city), just his TWO dew claws. They outright refused. "We don't do that when a dog is squeamish. Ask your vet." Um.. he's a PUPPY. I'm literally bringing him in to train him to be okay with this. I explained this to them before I even brought him in the first time (as a 4 month old - perfect opportunity to freaking train him as a puppy!). Imagine how thrilled I was when I picked him up for the first time and didn't notice til we got home that his nails hadn't even been touched. $85 is already steep for a dog grooming but my dog was shedding his winter coat and despite my brushing him every day for two weeks, I just wanted a final groom. They had the gaul to tack on a $30 deshedding charge without prior notice - if I had known, I wouldn't have taken my dog there. And then asked me to add a tip! Simply insanity for a freaking dog that I am obviously crazy about taking care of since he goes to the groomer every two and a half months already - not to mention I had deshedded him myself nearly all the way already! I showed up to get my dog and they said told me the price and I nearly had a heart attack. Hollis came out from the back and showed me "video of compacted fur" which you honestly couldn't see crap - just some minor hair buildup. I was dumbfounded. I decided shame on me for giving them a third chance and just accepted the pricing and left. I'd rather drive my dog across town to someone who will actually groom him and for a reasonable price than walk around the block and get swindled by this place again. read more

NOT GOING BACK. I went to get my dog's nails trimmed here and the lady working on the grooming side was very rude. First, she tried to guilt me on the fact that one of his nails was very long. I 100% understand that this was a problem...which is why I took him to get his nails trimmed. Every few nails trimmed, my dog would give a little yelp. Not a bark or a bite. The groomer went on to say "wow he's a drama queen, maybe we should get him a pride bandana" THIS IS NOT OKAY in my book. It was an extremely unprofessional comment and uncalled for. Hollus came recommended to us by a friend and I am so thankful we found her! We have a 10 month old wheaten terrier , who after staying with relatives for 2 weeks while we were on vacation was quite the matted mess when we picked him up. We brought him to Hollus and she was so understanding and patient with our little guy, who can have quite the attitude. She was so good at explaining everything to me and even called me a few times to fill me in and ask questions about how we wanted him groomed. When we picked him up that night he looked so much better and I was beyond impressed with the work Hollus had done. I was looking for the odorless bully sticks. The guy who worked here was very nice and informative. He showed me 2 odorless bully sticks that they carried and I couldn't be happier. Those bully sticks are not too big for my pomeranian puppy. As soon as I came home, I gave him the stick and he loves it. My boyfriend who always complains about how smelly the bully sticks are didn't even notice that my dog was chewing on the stick lol. I wish I lived closer to this place so I could support this pet store more often. read more

The first time I went to Wigglyville groomers in the west loop I was beyond impressed. They are little more expensive than the average groomer, but I was okay with that knowing that my 5pound Maltese baby wasn't going to be kenneled. The lady who usually sets up appointments (I think her name is Stephanie) was always super friendly, and several times when I went to pick up my pup, she had him sitting on her lap while she worked on the computer. For about a year I took my dog here regularly. At least twice within the year, I brought my sisters dog and my friends, because I was just so impressed by their cleanliness, friendliness, and willingness to fit you into their schedule. After about a year, I finally met the owner of this posh grooming salon... And she is exactly the reason i stopped going. My boyfriend picked up my dog and the owner overcharged him by $10. The next visit, I asked *Stephanie* about it and she apologized and said that the owner had made a mistake. I was allowed to pick out a free product to make up for it. After that incident I started going to Wigglyville only as a last minute option. I was baffled that the OWNER not only was unaware of the overcharge, she was apparently unfriendly, AND never apologized! Long story short, the last appointment I made, I was a "no show" because it was booked last minute, and to be honest I forgot. I spoke to and appgized to them when they called to let me know I had missed my appointment and I let them know I was sorry and ok with the $25 dollar charge for missing it. Yesterday morning I called (of course last minute ) to see if they were able to fit my dog in that day. The owner answered, and said that she was able to fit him in at 4, and that he would be done around 6:30. She reminded me that because of my ONE TIME no-show, she was doing ME a favor by fitting him in. When I dropped my dog off she was the only one working, and let me tell you, she didn't seem to happy about it. From the start, she was unbelievably rude. At first I excused it- understanding that I had messed up by missing my last appointment and that she really was doing me w favor by fitting him in last minute at 4. I insisted she charge me the 25 dollar fee for missing the past appointment. After I said that she literally changed from a grumpy faced, snob to the happiest friendliest person....It was so odd. I told her to call me at least 20 min before my dog was done so I could be there on time and not have her stay a minute later than the grooming. At 545 I called (no answer and no call back ) to tell her I needed a 30 min warning and than 6:00 (closing time) I called and she answered. She picked up and acted as if SHE had called me. She told me that I had twenty minutes to come get my dog . I was already annoyed, because i called her earlier to get a more precise time so that I wouldn't in-convince her. I told her I would be there by 630. Her response was "how do you expect me to stay here, we close at 6". EXCUSE ME?????? First off, that was the pick up time she gave me, secondly she FORGOT to call me, and third she charged me $110 dollars for a 5lb Maltese AND asked me what I wanted to tip her... To top it all off, her attitude was unlike any small business owner I've ever seen. She made me feel like I should be thankful for her allowing me to have her groom my dog. I am so done with this grooming salon. Be thankful for your customers, ... They willingly pay more to have your services, the least you can do is put a smile on your face and not act like your customers need to appreciate you for their business. read more

Wigglyville's in the West Loop! I love their spot up in Lakeview but recently moved down close to Madison and close to their new store. It's all the same great people working here that are at their other location. They also have the best prices in this neighborhood as well. I buy the Fromm and Stella & Chewy's dog foods for Lacey (My 10-year old Lab Mix), and they are waaaaaaay better priced than the other places around here. I was also given a FREE 4lb bag of a new food to try called Born Free. It was also a grain-free food and Lacey went crazy for the Salmon variety. They are always excited to see my dog and me. Thanks guys. Oh and soon they told me that Wigglyville will be opening a self-wash grooming spa next door! That would have been reason enough to drive down this way, but since I live so close no driving necessary ; ) read more

Best grooming experience ever! Our mid-size lab mix LOVES Hollus! She's afraid of the dryers but loves that Hollus fusses over her and give her such great attention, so that makes those noisy dryers more tolerable. Besides the fact that the place is immaculate, efficient and well-run, it's like being in a spa for furry friends...and the best part when I pick her up? She smells lovely for days after and her coat is shiny for weeks....I get loads of compliments. We've been loyal clients for more than 2 years and will keep on coming back! read more

Tried out the new self service dog wash - really nice set up and very clean of course its new! Helpful staff and great water pressure which is key. I recommend it and I'm sure it will be a very busy spot with all the dog's in the West Loop so hopefully they will be able to keep up the cleanliness and supplies with all the crazy dog parents in the neighborhood. read more

Wigglyville is not black people friendly to start I was under the impression that black people that have white dog could get them service no matter what color I was but since I'm a black skinned person. That means my dog is black also so the help or owner showed his misunderstanding when he stated that he did not have any availability until the may 3. One star for novelty of concept and the fun we had there twice before - who doesn't want to wash their own dog? The 2nd star is ONLY earned by the front of store employee, as she waived the cost on service we got last Sunday morning due to the insulting experience we had here. We will not be giving them business again, and I advise if you go to ONLY use the services you do yourself. We wanted our dogs' nails trimmed by their on-site "grooming expert", so we dropped off our dog and advised the lady that he sometimes gets anxious and can get nippy when his nails are getting clipped, so if he starts to get testy we'll understand if you stop. My wife spent about 3 minutes explaining this to the person working up front, and she assured us that the groomer had tons of experience and it wouldn't be any problem. Fast-forward 10 minutes and the groomer is berating my wife about how we should have warned them that our dog gets antsy and tries to bite when his nails are being done. The groomer came out of the back like a bat out of hell, and when my wife said "Sorry to hear that - I tried to explain how our dog was but I must not have been clear enough" (even though I don't know how she could have been clearer, she's the diplomat in the family) the groomer continued to berate my wife for another 2 minutes - in front of 2 other customers no less! For such a great business concept, it was completely ruined for us by how rude and insulting the groomer was. If I were in charge of this business I'd keep the person with zero customer handling skills out of sight and out of mind. The lady up front could tell how pissed off I was by the entire exchange, and she graciously waived the fee for the nails even though I insisted on paying for services rendered. read more
