The food here was incredible, went hear earlier today and the service was on point and the ambiance was inviting and relaxing. Definitely recommend and will be coming back! Oh and I suggest the udon noodles or the the special chicken teriyaki bento

    The Knockout was awesome.

Bento This has been one of our favorite neighborhood places, but so often it happens, that their popularity affects service and quality. The last two times we visited were really disappointing experiences. Tonight, service was non existent. We got there early and were the first table. We ordered some sashimi and chicken bowls. They came out timely. However, only one other table seated and we couldn't get water filled while eating. Eventually other tables were seated and it was half full. We were still waiting for water and a sushi order. I don't mind waiting, but no one stopped by to make sure we were ok. Over 30 minutes later they came with water and we asked for the remaining sushi order to be boxed up and a check. A few minutes later, they brought the food to the table without boxing it. They simply didn't listen. No apology or recognition. The sashimi didn't taste as fresh as the past and this was the second such recent experience. I hope this is temporary.

Nice small spot that has a pretty extensive menu. The prices were very reasonable and food was fresh and fast. We ordered takeout and it was ready exactly when it said it was. Everything was packaged nicely. The sushi itself was good. The teriyaki udon noodles were our favorite however ! Very delicious flavor, fresh ingredients, and cooked to perfect. A good takeout option for some sushi/Japanese !

Great pricing and cozy, intimate atmosphere. Went here with a small group for my birthday and it was great!

    Bulgogi Ramen and Gyoza

Portions are decent, price is a little high. Gyoza: really good $5 Miso: really good $2.50 Ramen (extra noodles) : good but overpriced $12.50 Bulgogi Ramen: good but even more overpriced $13 Cali rolls: good but for $7 expected more. Make sure to check order because we've still never had their fried rice because it was never delivered.

Ya'll, this is very much a Koreanized Japanese restaurant. And that's super important to know. It's not an issue, I quite enjoy the Korean versions of a lot of dishes, but definitely something I'd like to know before going. I ordered the bulgogi Kobe ramen, a maki roll (that I can't recall the name of), and jalapeño bombers. My counterpart ordered chicken udon and gyoza. The gyoza (that I stole) were my absolute favorite! Super crispy and delish! The jalapeño bombers were okay... they were deep fried and stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna had a drier texture almost like canned tuna... not what I'm used to but not necessarily wrong. We both noted that the jalapeño bombers would've been our favorite if the jalapeños were cooked a touch so they were softer, but overall a good dish. The maki roll was fine, the white tuna on top was a good touch. Ordering anything with bulgogi, I was not confused as to whether or not it was Korean, I was all on board. The bulgogi was delicious... just sweet enough, super flavorful, and a great portion size. What I didn't particularly care for was the ramen noodles that were clearly the variety you'd find in large quantity boxes at the Asian grocery store... those are fine and dandy for a quick bite when I'm at home, but not so much when I'm out. It honestly kind of cheapened the texture and taste. I'd definitely order their bulgogi again in another dish though. One other thing... their customer service is stellar! There was one waitress taking care of all the tables and she handled it with ease!

It's alright for a quick bite but food doesn't have much flavor the rolls taste very plain. I love sushi always trying new places.

The food is good, but their hours are not very convenient for lunch. Dinner time is okay. A little pricey however.

Came on a Thursday after lunch and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the Tocilog - which is sweet pork with a side of garlic fried rice, and an egg cooked any way you like. Also came with a side of noodles (pancit). Since I was here, decided to order some calamansi wings to go. And of course an ube milk tea. I really enjoyed my meal. The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color. I guess the tocino here is a little more leaner and no artificial colors - which works for me as I'm kinda allergic to red dye. But it tasted good, very flavorful. Loved the garlic rice as well. Pancit noodles were okay - could have used a little more seasoning but I could dig it Calamansi wings were low key fire. The crisp of the wings were perfection and the meat was not tough - still nice and juicy. I would get these again. They did have other flavors available that I need to come and try as well such as adobo and salt & pepper. Servers were nice and food came out pretty fast.

It is a noisy place full of older customers that know everyone in the place. Lots of customers hugging the staff, talking with the owners, and other tables. A great atmosphere if you are a local. One of the owners even suggested carrot cake for our desert. Really good by the way. We did see a number of regulars tables that were receiving complimentary appetizers. I get it, but you should treat first time customers the same to make them repeat customers? The issue was with service and how we were treated after we had to get service. Our server disappeared once our main course was ordered. Yes the place was packed, but the server made sure she kept on touching base with the regulars tables and we received less attention. Well like no attention. Well like we had to go to the bar to one of the owners to get our check. Well and when my significant other tried to comment that we had a lack in service the owner walked away from us. She turned a really nice first time experience into a never going back and write a bad review experience. (And my significant other was mad the whole evening, which made the event worse for me.) So even though I wanted to at least give them a 2 star review I had to tie it back to the tip we gave of $1. Regretfully we will not be going back to The Green Room.

I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. This was this past weekend on Friday night.

Even if we don't consider its rarity, Da Local Boy is a winner in every category. The prices are very fair for the enormous portion sizes, the decor is fun and appropriate, the service is friendly, and food is phenomenal both in flavors and textures. The only possible criticisms are that the space is a bit small for how popular this spot gets, and the parking in the area can be a bit limited around popular meal times. The food here shines, making it worth a special trip -- both again for the rarity but also the quality. For me, the poke nachos are a must order item, just the perfect mix of large chunks of tuna with super crispy wontons, fresh avocado, and a good helping of sauce. Amongst friends, we've agreed that this is a must order item. The huli huli chicken is also unreal in flavor and texture. Besides being marinated and sauced well, the chicken is melt in your mouth tender while simultaneously having a delicious crisp skin. Think brick chicken, but with more flavor and a much better price. The rice and macaroni salad that accompany this are also well done -- and feel more like a core part of the meal rather than an afterthought. The grilled pork is pretty good as well, though I kind of wish it wasn't sliced as thin, as certain pieces felt a bit dry. The spam musubi with a light touch of furikake also provided a flavorful, fun dish to accompany the other delicious items I tried. Overall, delicious and consistently surprises me with the quality of the execution and bold flavor combinations. This is on my top places to visit in the area and has never disappointed.
