So this place is going to make me morbidly obese, but I don't even care. We just moved to the area and looked for the best teriyaki in town, and we so found it! And thankfully it's so close to where we live! The owners are so friendly and personable. This is our second time going and the owners already recognize us and smile right when we come in. The portions are huge - I always get a chicken fried rice and I never finish it all in one setting. We got egg rolls today too - and they were so delicious! We've been going here for years and years now and love the staff who are very friendly and delightful to chat with. Food is ok. Customer service is lacking as the owner likes to argue with customers. I experienced this first hand when I asked for my gyoza extra crispy. Being a cook myself, I know that this can be accomplished simply by leaving the gyoza in the fryer a minute or two longer. The owner proceeded to tell me that since they are fried that means they are already crispy. He also told me that if my previous order wasn't crispy it was because it's my fault for waiting too long to eat them. I politely let the owner know that he has a "take-out only" sign in the window of his restaurant and I shouldn't have to rush and eat the food in my car in order for the food to be warm and crispy. Needless to say, I live within walking distance of this restaurant which is the only reason my husband and I have come here. I've had much better teriyaki right in Lynnwood with less arguing. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! I decided to come in to buy some miso soup a go to favorite of mine when I'm not felling well. After I ordered my soup to go he sees me pull out my card and backs up and says "not enough" he proceeded to explain that in order to use my card I'd need to spend over 4 or 5 dollars. That's completely understandable so I ordered a side of rice to make it 5 dollars he is obviously frustrated I ordered so little so he proceeds to help 4 customers after me makes my order bags it up leaves it there to get cold and decides to go into the kitchen to kill time in total I waited 20 min for overly salty cup of piss water and over cooked rice threw it out as soon as I opened it. Never coming here again I'm sure your experience will be better if you spend over 10 dollars. Stay away from the soup. read more

Been awhile since anyone reviewed this place, lol. FYI the prices are up about $2-3 depending on the dish from Chris O's review back in '06. Expansive menu beyond your basic "beef" or "chicken". To me, the portions are very big, but I've seen how some of you yelpers eat so...we'll compromise and name it ample for a teriyaki place. I love the Yakisoba here, the Gyoza is good, my mom would bite of your left hand for the ribs, and the kids will eat anything here...even *gasp* fish! (salmon, shrimp) Veggie options pretty much mean veggies and rice. Always busy, even when no one is inside, they take phone orders as well for pick up, so they are constantly hopping in some fashion. Be prepared for a 10 minute wait from order to food. Surprisingly, Bothell does not have a super abundance of teriyaki joints. Only 3 that I can think of off the top of my head. 2 in Canyon Park, and across town in downtown there is Bento. They advertise themselves as "Best Teriyaki in Town". Given I've not eaten at one, and my kids got horridly ill eating at another, then yes, Bento Teriyaki is the best in Bothell! read more

First time here.... I have some pros and cons... The place was clean and open and the menu was pretty clean cut. There was a group of people there when i walked in and two more came in after me. Clearly this is a popular joint. We ordered Chicken Breast Teriyaki and Chicken Teriyaki with Gyoza. The teriyaki sauce was thick and the salad dressing was yummy.... we all know this is how we gauge a good teriyaki place. :) One thing I had issue with... we didn't get any napkins or forks with our take out. All the food is quality food, not cheap, gross chicken. They have all-day specials that are decent priced and plenty of food. The gyoza's are good but nothing special. Yum, great lunch deal! Just the right amount for me. Bring your own hot sauce (if your like me). It's only served one way. The regular menu is well portioned and vast with all the typicals. I like when the kitchen is visible and not mysteriously hiding behind a greasy curtain. I ordered and had my food in less than ten minutes. I enjoyed an appropriately sized portion of fresh, hot, moist and tasty chicken. Also, the meat was not over sauces but if you like it really saucy there are two little cups of teriyaki sauce included with two scoops of rice and a plain little iceberg lettuce salad. When in Bothell, this is the cheap and easy way to get a meal. The owners are always super nice, even though I think they know us as "regulars" now. The teriyaki chicken lunch special is still 5 bucks, and easily can be spread into two meals unless you're starving. Their gyoza is average, but still decent. Best salmon teriyaki for your money in the Bellevue/Seattle area. Cheaper than most but double the salmon. I've tried many things off their menu but my favorites are the regular chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu and salmon teriyaki. (5 stars for those items.) They know how to cook their meats to perfection and their sauces are delicious. The portions are extremely generous, so I usually save half of my meal and have it for lunch the next day. The service is super friendly and efficient, and their restaurant is clean and tidy every time I visit. I have never had a bad experience. Good prices, too. I didn't expect much from this place, but for someone who's not a big fan of teriyaki, I find myself craving their food every now and then. The place is small, quaint, and neat. It feels homely, I guess (there are even excerpts taken from the bible written on a whiteboard). There's not much service - you pick up your plate of food at the register and clear your own table using their garbage can and bin. The man and woman who work there are nice though. The servings are pretty big. I think most plates come with two scoops of rice (it's good, not dry) and salad on the side. Their spicy and regular teriyaki chicken always come out tender and yummy. We've been coming to Bento for a few years now. Consistently good teriyaki. The rice is always really good. I get the chicken kebab because I don't like the mystery chicken in the other dishes. :) We like the gyozas and also the egg rolls as well. Hubby loves the regular chicken teriyaki. I think it's mostly dark meat, which I don't like, which is why I go with the kebab because it's all white meat. Comes with a plain little salad which has a yummy dressing. For me, teriyaki lives and dies by it's sauce and the sauce at Bento's is my absolute favorite. They even sell bottles of it and I have bought a few to take home, it's good on everything! The sauce at Bento's is truely the best and I've eaten at dozens of different teriyaki places in the area but this is by far my favorite. The prices are dirt cheap but still affordable and good portion sizes. I like to go with the beef/pork combo and it's always enough for at least one meal. The food is OK but the service is not. They handle cash then handle food without gloves - I've seen it happen multiple times. The cashier lady took the cash then left us hanging at the counter before handing over the food that was already just waiting in the bag already. She went to have staff taste some food, explained about something or another, then sauntered over to tie the bag and slide it to us. The food was barely warm after the needless wait.
