    Hybrid Ramen
    Dinesh P.

First time coming to this place. I'm not used to trying Ramen much but this one sure had many options especially both vegan and pork options. The place is cute and small - and it's a well known chain. The service was quick, food was great but the place is too small only 4-6 tables unless you don't mind the bar stools. I loved the spicy curry over the hybrid Ramen - the hybrid one s sauce was creamy/thick if you like the sorts. Would come once again.

Took me an absurd amount of time to visit Menya, the Kirkland location really helped. I was pretty impressed. Despite hearing a lot of great things about this "local" chain, my expectations were surpassed. I say local because I do believe they're from Japan or have locations in Japan, but have a few branches in Washington. There isn't a ton of seating, but probably seven tables with two chairs each (tables can be moved and combined easily) and then some counter seats facing the walls. Ample parking in a plaza. One tablet to order from inside. Great selection of classic ramen, vegan ramen, tsukemen, some donburi, and sides! Loved the hybrid ramen (and I'd imagine I'd love the black ramen in particular). Partner got the spicy miso and I honestly did not care for it, probably because my taste buds were overwhelmed by the hybrid ramen broth. Hybrid Ramen - mix of black and red meaning black garlic oil and spicy broth which was super flavorful. Fatty, rich, creamy, and umami. The individual pork belly across ramens is fatty and tasty, but it is a thicker cut than usual, so a bit chewier and maybe slightly tougher. They also provided a generous amount of spinach, wood ear mushrooms, and bean sprouts. Delicious noodles too, great slurping potential and soaked up the broth just right. Chicken Nanban - six pieces of tasty, juicy, delicious chicken karaage under some sort of thick tartar egg salad (like potato salad) with curry powder on top. Honestly I was impressed by the karaage alone and would be happy to order it. The thick tartar egg salad was tasty but the chicken was definitely the star of the show.

I've eaten at Menya Musashi twice, and unfortunately, the second time around, it really missed the mark. The tofu tasted off, and I ended up feeling uncomfortable later in the day. It's also served in two very thick slabs, which throws off the texture. Thinner slices would be a big improvement. Staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we came in, directing us to the kiosk to order and then find a seat. The location is tucked into a strip mall, but the artwork adds some authentic character.

I have been to Menya Musashi twice now and the quality is food was complete opposites of each other. Food: Both times I ordered the vegan hybrid ramen. The first time I went it was really good and memorable that I knew I wanted to come back. The second time it was not good. The tofu tasted really bad, something was off and later in the day my stomach did not feel well. The tofu is just 2 thick pieces, I wish they were cut thinner, maybe into 4 pieces. Menu: I appreciate that they have a full vegan menu that's easy and clear to read. Service: You order at the kiosk at the door, then are seated. Food was quick to come. Ambiance: Small hole in the wall place in a strip mall. They have cool art. Busy on the weekends, weekday lunch was empty.

I hadn't found Tsukemen in the Seattle area until I tried this spot. It's located in a small space, so be aware that a large group would be more difficult as seating is limited. The tsukemen was very tasty as well as the taiyaki dessert. I'll definitely be coming back here again.

Love this place - our go to for really authentic ramen. Place is small and can get busy so we like to time our visit on off peak times (not many off peak times - it's that good!). But definitely worth the wait. They have added new menu items like onigiri and have other items like steamed bao. Haven't had anything we didn't like and we have eaten through most of the menu. Service is great and vibe is casual. Come as you are but come hungry!

On a cold evening, these noodles hit the spot! You must order Tsukemen style, dipping the ramen noodles into a thick, hot, rich broth keeps your noodles texturally firm and al dente. We ordered the Black and Red Tsukemen, and the Chicken Karaage (smaller size). Both dipping broths were so rich flavorful, containing chunks of bamboo shoots and pork slices. We were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed our unique eating experience. Expect heavy salt and umami flavors with each bite, contrasting the rich and hot temp dipping bowl with the cold noodles. You could opt for warmer noodles, but the contrasting sensation of cold noodles and warm broth really hits the spot. I highly recommend anyone that calls themself a ramen fan or advocate, to give Menya Musashi Tsukemn a shot at changing your ramen perception forever!

This is my third time trying ramen, the first two I was disappointed. This time I was satisfied. I came in during lunch on a rainy cold weekday. The restaurant only had one other person eating inside. I ordered my food at the kiosk before seating myself. I decided to go with the original pork tonkotsu ramen with added egg. My ramen came out within ten minutes of me sitting down. I could smell the seared pork fat on the pork belly and it smelled spectacular. There was a small jar of dry chili and garlic, I sprinkled many spoons onto my ramen, it wasn't too spicy at all. I just love dried garlic. The pork broth was rich and heartwarming. The noodles were bouncy and chewy. The pork belly fell apart in my mouth, the sear on the pork belly enhanced its flavor more. I love the Woodear mushrooms in the ramen, as well as the spinach. The eggs seem like they were marinated in a soy base sauce. The best ramen I have tried so far, I can't wait to try the other flavors .

This little ramen spot has major Tokyo vibes. Just a handful of tables, an ordering kiosk, and steaming bowls that arrive almost as soon as you sit down. The menu is surprisingly creative for a small place -- with vegan ramen options like black garlic oil, spicy red broth, and hybrid. For the less adventurous, there's miso and green curry ramen, each with a spicy option too. We tried the vegan spicy curry ramen, hybrid, and black garlic oil ramen -- all a bit under-salted but easily fixed, and honestly, so satisfying once adjusted. Add some cold sake, and you've got yourself a no-fuss, sit, slurp, and leave kind of meal. Perfect for a quick ramen craving. They have other interesting items on their menu. But for me, their ramen hits the spot. Will definitely go back to try the miso ramen.

Finally got a chance to check this place out. Ramen was really flavorful and good without being too spicy. My coworkers got the cold noodle tsukemen ramen and they really liked it. The orange chicken was pretty good but next time I think I'll just get the karaage. Would highly recommended checking this place out if you're looking for a hot bowl of ramen or tsukemen!

I was craving some Tsukemen and was thrilled to find this spot decently close to where I live. The noodles were a great texture, the broth delicious and comforting, and service was attentive. There's not a ton of table seating available, but we were lucky to snag a two-seater table. There's also bar style seating with high stools facing the walls if tables aren't available. The lighting inside was noticeably harsh and bright, so the ambience wasn't "cozy, soup weather" like I had hoped for. I don't normally notice or care about lighting as much but I felt very exposed here! I'd come back to try more of their ramen & noodles, but I'd consider doing take out next time.

    CHICKEN KARAAGE

Excellent ramen place in Kirkland. We loved the food, atmosphere and service. It's in a strip mall near the car wash. Very fast service- order on the kiosk as you enter. Tables available and two rows of counter seating. We loved our ramen bowls and will definitely be back! We also tried the karage chicken as an appetizer. We had the 3 piece and it was outstanding. The sauce put it over the top. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Combo adder - Negi Ponzu Takoyaki (and green tea bottle), $6.50 - 4 Stars
    Eva M.

Menya Musashi Tsukemen & Ramen, a Japan based chain, opened its first US location in Cap Hill. Now, it has a location on the Eastside in Kirkland. They must be seriously legit because this tiny restaurant with 6-ish small tables and a bench against the wall is packed with Asians plus a steady stream of take-out orders. We order via the tablet near the door. They have several menus there, so you can read up while you wait your turn to order. There is very little waiting space around the tablet or to wait for a seat. When two groups of four arrived, they were told to wait along the aisle to the bathroom. The arrangement is rather awkward. Meanwhile, a group of six is chatting away, clueless to the waiting fellow diners. Be prepared to wait if you come with more than 4 people. Service is less-than-usual since you order and pay ahead yourself. They bring food, refill water, and clear table. The Food: Black (Garlic Oil) Ramen, $16.50 - 4 Stars The best part - the broth! The worst part - no egg! Ramen without ajitama seems like a travesty. The noodles and chashu (pork belly) are alright; we have had better elsewhere. Spicy Curry Ramen plus 2 ajitama added, $17 + $3 - 4 Stars The best part - the broth! The worst part - subpar ajitama. Clearly, they are not skilled with their eggs. They are broken, the yokes are overcooked, the marinate is light. Sigh. I do like their ramen bowls have more veggies than most other places. Combo adder - Negi Ponzu Takoyaki (and green tea bottle), $6.50 - 4 Stars Having this combo adder (optional non-alcoholic beverage) is clever! $6.50 is an approachable price. I am trying takoyaki served in this manner for the first time. It is lighter, with a bit of tang, and less sweet. I liked it. Combo adder - original Takoyaki (and oolong tea), $6.50 - 4 Stars Hubby likes this original variant better with a thicker sauce. The takoyaki balls are quite good. Lightly fried, not too much octopus though.

Food: I had one of the bento combos and it came with miso soup, a side salad, and a large dinner plate. The first thing that stood out to me was how much of everything came with the bento. On top of that, everything was very fresh and tasty. The dragon roll was also very good! Service/Ambiance: The staff here was very friendly. The restaurant isn't huge so I'd imagine it could get pretty packed during a lunch or dinner rush. There a few parking spots out front in the plaza, but also lots of street parking nearby. Price: For the quality and portions of the food, I would say this is a great value. The bento was around ~25 and the roll was ~18 which is pretty standard in 2026

The sushi bowls and rolls are huge portions and they tasted good, and I appreciate the warm sushi rice underneath (hate when it's cold). Finally, we were celebrating a birthday so we appreciated them bringing out a complimentary dessert and it was very cute having them play the birthday song on the speakers so the whole restaurant sang along! On the misses, the spicy salmon hand roll was extremely salty to the point where it was burning my tongue. The hot dishes like the salmon chanchan yaki and chicken teriyaki were bland and overcooked, didn't even want to bring leftovers home. And the sushi took FOREVER to come out, at least 15 minutes after the hot dishes, so be warned if it's busy. Parking is also very limited on site so that;s another warning if you're going during busy times.

For an appetizer, we got the special which was a four piece crispy rice appetizer. It was pretty good. The tako (octopus), seared tuna, sake (salmon), hamachi (yellowtail), maguro (tuna), tamago (egg), ikura (salmon roe), ebi (shrimp), hotate (scallop), and superwhite tuna in the chirashi were sliced nice and thick. Some places cut them thin but here the size was perfect. Not too big, not to small. Just right. My husband got the ultimate Bento and my son ordered the Tuna Bento. They both got sushi, tempura and salad in their bento. The tempura was super crispy and the perfect amount of thickness of the batter. My husband and son loved the tempura. Their sushi was really good and the cut of the fish was just the right thickness. This is a family business and the girls serving us we're really nice and checked on us often.
