Great Food and fabulous service! Every time we come to Sandusky (one week a year), Berardi's is a must!

Wow. What a quaint little place right by the lake. If you like to eat and are comfortable with being uncomfortably full this is the joint for you. Seafood bisque is better than I have EVER had including across ocean dining experiences! This place makes you remember what a dining experience really should be like. The menu is limited but the specials make up for it, usually..... Very clean place, recently redecorated. The staff is very friendly and you are made to feel welcome. The prices are a bit steep for what you get, but not enough to scare us away. Overall the quality of the food is consistently good. The seafood bisque is out of this world! Tried Berardi's based on the reviews. Service was fine-sufficient. Lasagna was very good. Had the chicken Toscana too & saurkraut balls. Chicken was tasty & saurkraut was so yummy. Just couldn't finish all of it. read more

I can't rate the food! Because we never got to order. We were the 2nd customers in the restaurant. We were seated and no one ever came to our table. 6 more tables were seated and their orders were taken and still no one came to our table. We got up to leave and none of the 6 waitresses even spoke to us. read more

What a pleasant surprise and truly a gem of a restaurant. We stopped here on a whim to grab a bite after a sporting event at the local highschool. Our server Ellen was very personable and efficient. When we told her that it was our first time visiting, she gave us a brief history of the restaurant and at one point she pointed towards the kitchen. She said "those people in there work very hard every day to make everything from scratch". My family members ordered burgers and fries. They said the burgers were amazing - juicy and full of flavor. The fries are hand cut, home made, and delicious. I reluctantly ordered the seafood bisque, because Ellen highly recommended it. I've been on the east coast and had "true" seafood bisque and couldn't imagine it being comparable here in Ohio. I stand very much corrected, this seafood bisque was the best I've ever had and I didn't think that was possible. I mean, you have to try this stuff. I'll drive all the way back to this restaurant just to have it again. We brought some pecan pie home (all of their pies are also made in house from scratch) and it was also phenomenal. We will go out of our way to visit this establishment again and highly recommend it to everyone. read more

First time there and we will be back for breakfast again when in the area. Restaurant went through a recent redo on the inside to create a very pleasant atmosphere for having breakfast. Good choices for standard breakfast fair and if you want to concoct your own omelet mix (using over a dozen different ingredients of cheeses and assorted vegetables and meats), they have that too! Wait staff was pleasant and eager to please. Nothing against chain restaurants, but this place is a have to dine at local restaurant for breakfast. Bathrooms were very clean too and plenty of back lot parking. Next time going to come for dinner and try their highly rated fries! read more

When you don't feel like cooking but want a home cooked meal, Berardi's is the place to go for any meal. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and have yet to decide which meal is best. My all time favorite meal is the patty melt with French fries. It's delicious! read more

Living in Central Ohio about the only thing I miss about living in Northern Ohio is the ability to find Lake Erie Perch, and especially great Lake Erie Perch. And the Perch sandwich both my wife and I enjoyed today definitely was amazing. Along with the Cedar Point French Fries and this was a meal that was very delicious. Throw in the fact that they offer Coke a Cola products and this makes me a very pleased customer. High praise also to our waitress Linda who make sure that everything was going well and made sure we had plenty of refills on our beverages. She seems very at ease doing her job and my only wish is that all restaurants had amazing waitresses like Linda. Being able to enjoy great food and to be able to spend time with friends is the way to spend a Sunday afternoon and this hit the mark on all levels. Looking forward to the next time we can enjoy a few hours at this excellent restaurant. read more

Absolutely amazing! We had clam strips, chopped sirloin, kids chicken tenders, and kids mac and cheese! Everyone was stuffed when we left and enjoyed every aspect of the meal. Reasonable prices and great service. Wish we had saved room for dessert because they looked incredible! read more

Love Berardi's! Great place for any meal. This is our favorite breakfast spot for sure. Lunch combos are great with soup, salad, and or sandwich. Dinners are delicious and great for when you want to eat out but just have normal home style food. We also love the Carryout family style meals. Great value and usually plenty of food for 4. But if you order the spaghetti and meatball meal for 4, I would recommend ordering some extra meatballs. read more

Visited Norwalk-NHRA for the weekend and was looking for a reasonably priced place. When we arrived, it was busy but everyone was very polite and interacted with the patrons. We were seated pretty quickly and had a great meal (Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti & Meatballs) with Garlic Bread. We were pretty impressed with our portion sizes and prices and asked about their breakfast menu. We came back Sunday morning for breakfast and received the same treatment as the night before. Our meals were very filling. Only downside for me (and not worth complaining about) is that the homefries have onions in them. I don't mind them if I don't see them, but it would be nice to know they were in there. Will definitely head back next year. read more

The perch dinner with fries is something to write about. Very mild tasting fish but get the dinner with the perch and clam strips. The clam strips were the best I had in a long time. Very meaty, not gritty and cooked perfectly. I would recommend. read more

This was a restaurant I have fond memories of dining with my mom and dad on Friday night as I was growing up as a kid. Some 25 years later my dad and I, after a round of golf recently, enjoyed lunch here. Note: My parents(live approx 20 miles from Huron) continue to go on a regular basis but i living 90 minutes away. The atmosphere is amazing just a locally owned place with amazingly pleasent feel as soon as you walk in the door. We got there mid afternoon yet the place was still busy. A sign that I always see as the food and service must be excellent. And to my pleasure it was just that. We were greeted with a smile and the hostess was very cordial. We sat in the back and our waitress Jamie greeted us with a smile as soon we were seated. My dad and I both had the Perch sandwich. My dad chose to have the coleslaw as his side but recommend I have the fries. The Perch sandwich was outstanding. Lightly bread and full of flavor. The French fries were amazing perfectly cooked and flavorfull. It was one week ago Friday that we were hear and I cannot stop talking about my experience. If your in the Huron Norwalk OH area this is a must. read more

My husband and I along with our two boys ages 2 and 4 dined at Berardi's while staying in the Sandusky area for 2 nights. We are so happy that we decided to go for a locally owned restaurant rather than settle for the big chains near our hotel. The food was amazing. All obviously homemade with fresh ingredients. The Chicken parmesan was so awesome! Our server, Erin, was so sweet to our kids. The best part of our experience was the fact that General Manager Chris sent my credit card to my home in Pennsylvania after I accidentally left it on the table! By the time I realized it was missing we were about 2 hours away from the restaurant. I received it within 2 days. read more

My daughter and I were on a 3-hour road trip to Michigan and stopped there for breakfast this morning. We literally cannot stop talking about how great the food and service were. I mean an omelette is an omelette, right? Wrong! They find a way to make it amazing. The hash browns were perfectly cooked and equally great and the sour dough toast tasted like it just came out of the oven freshly baked. I'm a bit of a foodie, eat regularly in very high-end restaurants, and this breakfast was unparalleled. Our server was just a bonus -- super sweet and personable. This is somewhere in between a casual and professional establishment, kind of difficult for me to explain. The food is excellent and prices are all over the place from $ to $$$$. The menu provides something for everyone's pallet; the BEST liver and onions in the 20 mile area; Perch are excellent, deserts are very good, pies and cookies are home made. BEST salmon salad, no EXCELLENT salmon salad when its available. Rolls & sandwiches are great too, I do not care for any of their Italian dishes, the sauce for me is on the sweeter side. The place is SANITIZED, seriously, I have NEVER found it to be dirty in any manor, tableware is always clean, but this isn't a fancy place its just CLEAN like a responsible housewife would provide for the family she loves. Atmosphere is casual and professional, a rarity and fascinating accomplishment. . They do serve wines, no mixed drinks, CONSIDER THE SPECIALS, they are well thought out and nicely prepared. Parking is good, bathrooms are CLEAN but tight, The ceilings are clean, how many times have you seen that in a restaurant!! SEAFOOD BISQUE soup is THE ABSOLUTE BEST and the best value on the menu, $5 for a big bowl, I buy it to take home and enjoy. You won't be disappointed. Prices are $ to $$$ read more
