I have a lot of respect for food service workers because I've been in their shoes, and I understand mistakes happen. The issue wasn't the mistake itself, it was the response. The drink I received tasted like it contained no alcohol, and everyone in my party who tried it agreed. When I raised the concern politely, I felt it was immediately dismissed. The manager insisted the drink was made correctly, despite the possibility that, with the bar running behind and drinks arriving after our meal, an ingredient may have been missed. We were seated next to a front window at a table. The window was so filthy I even said out loud " that window is disgustingly filthy. " the window shade wouldn't work so I wouldn't have to look at it. The waitress even tried to pull it down. We should have left but didn't. I did not want to embarrass my partner. After seated I looked around and all of the windows were disgustingly filthy let alone the wooden dividers between the tables dusty beyond belief and grimey, not clean in any way. should we mention the artificial plants, disgusting and dirty. There was also old food dripping and dryed on surfaces also. If this is the care of the dining area that customers see, imagine what we don't see in the kitchen. I think this particular Olive Garden needs a visit from the health dept. I won't go back. If you think I'm exaggerating visit yourself, if you find everything I say correct - walk out. If everything thing I say is incorrect and it is clean then wonderful because that means this review caused action. Enter a your own risk Food is at best mediocre. we haven't been to Olive Garden in a number of years. Tonight we were feeling Italian food and decided to give Olive Garden a shot. Horrible decision. We sat in the bar, which wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. The ladies behind the bar showed very little interest when we sat down. When the server came over, she showed little to no emotion, no smile, not friendly at all. Almost like she was unhappy to be there. We seriously thought about leaving but decided to stay. Ordered our food which came out fairly quickly. The soup was luke warm at best. When the entrees came out, the pasta looked old. Each dish was tasteless with very little sauce. We had to salt and pepper the daylights out of the food just to get some flavor. I ate about half of my meal and my wife ate about a quarter. We boxed it up to take home and as soon as we walked out, I started looking for a trash can. Ended up throwing it away. It's not likely that we'll ever have another meal at Olive Garden. Went there for a late birthday lunch. Outdoor entry area is full of cig butts and trash. Entryway had paper all over the floor. Sad way to take care of your facility. Had soup and salad. We didn't go to our Elyria Olive Garden because it isn't that great. We thought if we went to a different one, the one in Sandusky, things might be better. We couldn't have been more wrong! It was worse! My Chicken Scampi had hardly any sauce & they barely browned the chicken. It was edible, but, tasted greasy with no flavor! My husband ordered a steak, medium, & it came out burnt & well done, TWICE! After that, we were done! We went here because we had a hard time deciding on where to eat. We went here on a Wednesday and they were not too busy during dinner time. We got the all you can eat soup and salad. I ended up getting 2 bowls of salad and 3 bowls of soup. It is great if you are on a budget and feel like you do not need to stuff yourself on. Ordered appetizers and were immediately rudely admonished about sharing. Wrapped napkin with two forks, no knives. Slammed salad plates as if an imposition. Never came back to refresh drinks, never ask if every thing is ok, no hello, no goodbye. An annoyance barking orders to other employees. Busy chit-chatting at the bar with staff. Another OG Debacle. I don't know why this franchise has such a propensity for epic fails. This is one of the worst fiascos I've seen at a restaurant but it doesn't even rank in top 2 for my worst Olive Garden experiences. Now there were SO many problems that happened w/ our party it's too to go thru them all so I'll condense instead. 16 of us were seated in 2 large tables. Took about 10 mins to seat us even w/ reservation. Server was nice enough just didn't have tools to manage a large party. Her helper was mainly a runner. Bread, salads & soups were ok but a couple of us waited 8 extra mins for our chicken gnocchi. A drink got goofed no biggie. My ranch tasted off - bit sour. But the main problem was that 3 kids meals were cold, 1 was mis-ordered, and the "replacement" was goofed. Chicken tenders burned. Then 2 adults raviolis came out cold w/ side of cold sauce and extra mushroom sauce was forgot. So they microwaved them but still forgot the sauce so by time they brought mushroom sauce the ravs were cold again! We asked for manager but server tried handling herself but things got worse & server blamed kitchen. Finally Mgr came when it devolved into bickering anger and tears (from server). We explained to Mgr who was really nice & she had the GM comp our bill. That was the only saving grace. Funny thing was some of the excuses they gave were bogus b/c we had 3 ex-OG employees in our party!!! If you have a pretty large party, the OG may not be ideal since they are all usually too busy. read more

This review is because of the exceptional service by our waitress, tay. I hate Olive Garden. I get drug to Olive Garden by my family all the time. I always go kicking and screaming. This was the best restaurant experience we've had in years. We had 15 very tired 3 day cedar point vacationers. 7 were children aged 3-10. We were sat as a group in one table in 10 minutes. Tay instantly had it down. Drinks, offered separate checks, kids were not sitting with parents. We had 5 checks because she offered. We usually condense more. She brought out salads and bread without being asked and plentiful. She did not let a cup go dry. She did not mess up one order. A table of 14 and 17 also came in when we did. There was an exact table like ours behind us. That table called the manager and she was taken off their table. Our waitress took their large group and our large group at the same time. I thought "there went our food service, we will never get our check or more drinks". Wrong! She did not miss a beat with two tables of 15. And actually for Olive Garden. Our food was as good as it gets. Hot and fresh. Still not my choice, but a good waitress is all you can ask for and a kitchen that at least gets the order right and sent out. The other table was not happy, we were finishing our food before they even ordered. The manager comped their appetizers someone said. Others heard their problems. We stopped and told the manager of Tay's exceptional service on the way out. I always write a good Yelp and let the manager know when we've had an exceptional experience. Thanks to Olive Garden My wife and I had one worst experiences ever on Mother's Day. We went to the Sandusky Ohio Olive Garden around 3:00 pm on Mothers Day to try to beat the rush. We ordered and my wife order Eggplant Parm. I ordered a Sirloin. An hour later our server came up and ask how everything was and offered to get our check. We told him we never got out food. He went to check on it and told 5 minutes, 5 minutes later we were told another 5 minutes. Our server offer to bring my wifes meal at that time but my meal is still another 5 minutes. He brought My wifes meal an hour after we were there. My meal didn't arrived at all and after my wife finished her meal she told me it tasted like it was reheated because of the noodle that weren't covered by sause was dry and a little hard. So I told our server at this point I didn't want the sirloin being me wife and I couldn't eat together. My wife also felt very uneasy eating her meal in front me without my meal. What a bad joke of a restaurant. The more I think about the madder I get. They removed the Sirloin from the bill but kept the my soft drink charge on the bill, which I didn't even drink , I wanted it with my meal. A friend and I both went here one night, and the service was semi-decent, but it took so incredibly LONG for anything to get to us. They screwed up my order, and then claimed they would give us free dessert (they didn't.) When we did finally get our food, it tasted weird and off. We didn't order any meat. The food is exactly how it should be (which is the reason for the 4 stars). I know that this restaurant sits in a market geared towards children, however - allowing kids to sit at the bar is illegal. I also believe the bar should be a kid free zone. Sitting at the bar during my visit, a family sat down waiting for a table. 3 small children and 2 adults. The Bartender was very uncomfortable, but decided to serve them anyway. She was in a bad spot. Say no and risk getting yelled at, or serve them and pray their table was ready soon. Managers letting them sit without politely pulling them aside and explaining the law - was rude to the other adults at the bar. Post signage, train the hostesses and make sure that if you are waiting for a table, you know your options. Let the other adults eat and drink at the bar without kids. read more

Wow. When I first walked in the lobby smelled like a garbage can didn't have a lid. Our server was nice but here is where it went wrong. A food runner dropped our bread on the table and slid our small plates across the table. The food; the coffee was cold, the sauce was burned and you can tell it sat under the heat lamp too long because the noodles were dry. Visited this location on a trip to Kalahari. Was unimpressed. We were seated near a walkway and the waiters kept bumping into me while turning the corner and never even said sorry. They also kept Carrying plates over my head. When I went to order a daiquiri, the waitress said "ok non alcoholic", and I'm like uh no the regular one with alcohol and showed her my ID. I use the website to order takeout for my family of 5 since I just had surgery. I sent my husband to pick up and listed his name as the person picking up. He called and let them know his parking space number on arrival, as instructed to do so in the text I received. He was told that they do not have an order from us. He called me to let me know and so I went back into the website to see what it said. On the website it said that my order had already been picked up. I assumed that there must have been some misunderstanding and I wasn't angry or frustrated. I know that things happen sometimes. I called to see if they had gotten the order and to see if they needed any additional information from me, or if there was any sort of problem that I needed to clear up. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude. she told me that they were backed up and that they can't bring it out as soon as people arrive and that I need to be more patient. She cut me off multiple times on rants about how she doesn't know what it says on the website and it doesn't matter because she doesn't use the website. Twice, I had to tell her to "please stop" because she was going off on different rants. I wasn't mad or accusatory when I called, although I'm sure there are plenty of people who complain often. I understand that it's a stressful job. I let her know that I was not accusing her of any wrongdoing I was just asking simply if they'd received the order or if they needed any more information from me since there seemed to be an issue. Finally, she said they were taking it to him now, but I just talked to my husband again and there's no food. I don't know if we'll ever get our order ‍ It's been nearly an hour, and I can't call the restaurant because she'll just yell at me again. read more
