Lox and cream cheese sandwich served with dry potatoes
    Alison M.

Here in a Saturday morning for breakfast. Parking lot and road side parking was packed. Luckily we found a spot not too far from the doorway. Entered through the cafe door and got in line with the others waiting for a table. 10:30a and the place is humming. After a 20 minute wait our booth table was ready. In the mood for their Lox and cream cheese sandwich. Hubby had the plate with it all, choosing a pancake instead of French Toast. Cup of coffee while we waited. In a cast post surgery and conscious about where I place it, I found resting in my other foot better then in the floor where I could see trash under the table. Being a busy morning understandable however the encrusted splatters on the wall, napkin holder, and condiments were another thing. See attached pictures. Food was great, service wonderful including the nice young lady busing the tables and greeting folks while the waitress diligently takes care of her guests. Recommend doing once over with a cleaning rag to the items on the table when cleaning the table for the next people.

I was happily surprised with Bernie's Foreside. It's half bagel shop and half diner--I had been to the bagel side a couple of times recently, since they started serving bagels from Union Bagel. It's somewhat of a cottage decor on the diner side, the original art work is a nice touch. There were quite a few parties waiting to be seated when I arrived, just after 9:30, but my friend had already been seated so I'm not sure what the wait time was like. Our waitress took our order right away. Service was attentive, our food was served fairly quickly, and she came by and refilled my friend's bottomless cup of coffee several times. The menu was standard diner fare: pancakes, eggs, breakfast sandwiches, etc. The Yogurt Delight I ordered came with fresh fruit that included strawberries, sliced oranges, bananas, and blueberries and vanilla Chobani yogurt, which is gelatin free. It also came with a generous portion of granola and toast. It really exceeded what I expected for a diner. There is plenty of parking as they are located on Route 1, in the front of the big box store. Noteworthy, they close at noon on Saturday. Overall, a positive experience and I would recommend Bernie's if you're looking for a solid, no nonsense breakfast at a place with great service and plenty of parking.

I had brunch here on a saturday. Such nice waitresses and the food was very good. The vegetable homefries with cheese are amazing. Lots of choices. Get there early as the bagels will sell out!

Such a great find. 1st time for a business meeting. Everyone is so nice. Staff so friendly and the menu is great. Seems like a local place but plenty of seating if you don't sit at the counter. Worth the visit. Easy to get to and plenty of parking

Stopped here for breakfast the other day and it was quite busy. We had to wait about 15 mins for a seat. The service was friendly. Classic diner food but the prices were a little high in my opinion. They do make their bagels from scratch. I got a breakfast sandwhich on their everything bagel and it was okay but I was expecting more for homemade. They have a connecting side that you can order takeout if you don't want to wait. Overall decent breakfast place, expect a wait if you come on a Saturday or Sunday.

Very busy little spot!! I went on the recommendation of my parents! My mother said it was a must try! She said the hollandaise is so good you want to literally lick your plate clean! She was very accurate with this information! When we arrived we were seated very promptly, within 10 min they had a line of patron waiting to be seated. The waitstaff was friendly. The food was cooked beautifully and served promptly. Look forward to our return!

Highly rated brunch for a good reason. Cute interior, a small outdoor patio if you want outdoor seating, and a collection of diner-like foods and pastries to delight you on a Sunday morning. Came to fuel up before a long day of hiking and my chocolate chip pancake, home fries, and eggs were just how I liked em'. Their egg scramble and omelets looked good as well, with good, quick service and comfortable booths for sitting. Poached egg was just cooked well but a little watery.

Seating can be tight when it's full and there are coats etc. It wasn't uncomfortable, however, if you like a lot of personal space, you may want to get take out, or get there early. The place was clean and super cute inside. Loved plates and the condiment baskets! The menu had something to curb my sweet and savory cravings. We started with a delicious hot chocolate - in a very interesting glass mug. The grilled blueberry muffin was delicious - one thing that stood out is it was sliced into three pieces! I loved it that way and now I judge other restaurants when they don't do this. LOL The croissant was nice - not sure if it was made locally, but it was fresh and tasty. My breakfast plate was YUM!! The homemade corned beef hash amazing! The eggs perfect and the potatoes - tender and wonderful savory flavor. I saved a little to bring home to my husband to try. My friend's eggs benedict looked amazing. She said she loved it. The parking lot is primarily for them - which I didn't realize because of the way it's positioned in front of the tattoo shop. I love that Matt and Mandy are in this corner and I can't wait to return. Thank you to the staff that made our experience wonderful - Food and customer services - 10 stars!

Bun was not burnt nor was the chicken over done like the first trip here. Fish and chips were amazing! Batter was not dense or heavy, light and complimented the haddock. Portland has needed an indoor mini golf course for a decade or more, so it's about time we get one!…read moreAnd Minibar has done SUCH A GOOD JOB representing Maine here: every hole is 207 themed, so expect local sports teams, locally loved institutions and hobbies and places. Be sure to take time to read the screen at each hole because there's some fun facts specific to that theme! On that note: I appreciate how tech forward they are here. You'll be given a unique number before you start playing, at each hole you enter it on the corresponding screen, do your scoring digitally, then move on. If you need the server, there's also little buttons on each screen to call them over. But, to their credit, they do a fantastic job organically making sure to get around to everyone to take your drink orders! A couple constructive criticisms: - Do people not know how to play mini golf? We had several other customers give us a hard time for being in their way... but we were playing 1 through 18 while lots of other people were just kind of bopping around to whatever hole they wanted. - There's a couple cornhole sets right in the middle of the course, and it can be very congested if folks are playing that while you're trying to play golf (you will literally be in the way of them throwing). - Golf is currently $20 per person. PRO TIP: make a reservation and pay in advance online, then create a tab for your drinks when you arrive. We made a spontaneous decision to visit, and while they were super accommodating!, our round of golf for two people and the two drinks we had were all tabbed out at the same time... which means we were tipping 20%+ on two drinks AND our golf. Honestly? That feels sneaky. I'd rather just have multiple charges on my card. - Skip the cocktails. I'm not sure I'm the demographic: I'm a childless adult who went with my partner, had a cute/fun time, but after that initial novelty? I don't know that I'd need to come back here. I guess it would be to bring family or friends from out of town/out of state to "do something" if the weather wasn't great. I think if you're a family, though, this could be a great place to come and play! Kids can kind of run around safely here!

Asking a few questions helped us a lot since it was our first time trying this place…read more There are waitstaff walking the mini golf floor who will take your drink orders. There is no food allowed on the course itself. Food is available at the tables in the bar area. There are high top tables all around the golf course to put your drinks and purses on while you golf. Very handy. But, you need to remember to bring your drinks with you to the next hole. I may have forgotten mine once and twice and had to go back and get the drinks. When you start, you enter your group name, and each person in the group name. Sort of like when you go bowling. There are no paper cards/pencils to keep score...score is kept on screen monitors at each hole. You enter the number of puts at each hole for each person. The theme is sports, so all the Maine teams are represented, but also a few non sport holes like local legends like holy donuts. The length of the holes is much shorter than outdoor mini golf, but that doesn't mean they are easier. There are lots of obstacles at each hole. See photos. There are tons of big screens on the walls playing every sport you can think of, plus some trivia. We did not try the food because we were going out to dinner after. At the end you can keep the ball and if you bring it back you get $1 off the price of your next game. There is also a giant beer pong game near the bar that looks fund, in case you're waiting for the party in front of you to finish. The bathrooms are very clean. I will go again for sure. It is nice to have be able to play mini golf in winter.

Once inside I think the direction they went with art/design is superior to the original location and my wife strongly agrees with that more than me. She absolutely loved the flower wall art and the overall vibes here. Enough so that she would prefer to visit this location. The food and drink menu is basically the same so if you have visited the Scarborough location you can know exactly what to expect.
