My husband and I were looking for a solid pizza place and decided to give Bernillo's a try. Ordered a medium pepperoni to go! Upon arrival, the customer service was very friendly and welcoming. The inside felt cozy and down to earth. It took a while for the pizza to be ready however they have a text message system so I was able to go and walk around. The pizza was very fresh so to me I think the wait is worth it. You can tell they prepped and cooked it on the spot. The pepperoni was delicious & perfect amount of cheese and sauce. Sweet little spot just on the edge of downtown Ft Bragg. Super friendly proprietor, working on her own but stays on top of everything. The pizza crust is good, not too sweet; ample toppings; pepperoni is the good kind that curls up into a little cup. We booked a reservation for 10 on a Wednesday, unaware that the restaurant is normally closed. While we appreciated the owner opening the space just for us, the overall experience was highly disappointing.Upon arrival, we discovered there were no salads and no Diet Coke. Additionally, despite having large screen TVs, they lacked the internet connection required to broadcast the World Cup.When we realized there were no salads, we attempted to leave to find another restaurant. The owner guilted us into staying by mentioning she had opened specifically for us. We ended up waiting over an hour for our pizzas, which tasted just okay but were severely overpriced.To make matters worse, the owner was incredibly unprofessional. Instead of apologizing for the delay, she complained about our food order, stating that ordering that many pizzas was "invasive."We stayed out of politeness but felt completely trapped and uncomfortable. Let me start with they DO NOT make subs like it says online and like their yelp name says and shows. When we tried ordering a meatball sub we were rudely told they do not make sandwhiches and they do not have an online website. We ordered 3 pizzas and a salad and were told that it would be 40 minutes. It ended up being over 1 hour, which was tough with an impatient toddler but we understood they were busy. Once we got back to our house, we realized they made a mistake with our order and did not include a cheese pizza, which was for our kids. We called and spoke with Meg who was extremely rude about the situation. It is obvious she does not care for her customers or for customer service. She was so unwelcoming and did not deserve our business. $106 for mediocre pizza and horrible customer service. read more

This is now my go to destination on Friday nights after work to celebrate TGIF, hang out at the counter and enjoy a beer on tap and chat with the owners while awaiting a great pizza, or a calzone, or a slice if I don't want leftovers. This was amazing. My wife and I have never experienced such horrible service. This is not a complaint about how slow it was, though it was very slow (and not busy in there). It was the apathy that moved me to write this.. When our pizza arrived after about 45 minutes, we asked about our salads, and she said she didn't know we ordered salads. She apologized and disappeared. The pizza was strangely cold on top - The crust slightly burned (I actually like it that way) but it wasn't *hot*. The only explanation is that that pizza had been sitting around for awhile before it was brought to us. I did not clock the salad's arrival, but it was a VERY long time before we saw it. When the salads arrived I asked for a to go box for our remaining cold pizza (We believe it will taste great in the microwave tomorrow). She said Ok and disappeared. I jokingly told my wife that I should have checked time we asked for a box - just to see long it would take. - to. bring. a. box. nope. no box. We finished our salads. We sat and waited. We concluded that we were not going to see that box. So I approached the counter where she was busying herself with anything other than reaching for a box. (I stood there without a word. Hoping that she would notice me, but she refused to even look up). I finally said, "Can I get that box?" and she said, sure, and reached back, grabbed a box and handed it to me without as much as an "I'm sorry". We estimate the wait for the box: 15 minutes. It's one thing to forget maybe one thing - or even two, but quite another to show zero remorse. And I think that was my biggest problem. We all mess up periodically, and humbly admit and ask forgiveness. Or something. Plainly, what she communicated was "If I had any thought of you at all, I wouldn't care anyway". That was a 70 dollar lesson. Don't eat here anymore. read more

Zero stars for this place!! Went in with party of 5 adults and one young child. Received no help in combining tables to accommodate us. We were the ONLY people in there. Our order was taken by "owner". She DID NOT write it down. Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 salads one of which was a Cesar salad ( came with no anchovies) she said "oh do you want ONE!!! The place filled up.. after one hr we got ONE pizza and was told oh the other will take a " few or so more minutes " the other patrons received their orders... when approached about other pizza (no olives or peppers) she had one in front of her and when reminded of that she started to PICK OFF THE OLIVES AND PEPPERS!!! NO THANK YOU!! And it was while wearing the same gloves she had on when handling money...: We paid and left ...NO TIP!! The most outrageously disgusting service!!! No courtesy, no "sorry it's taking so long"... NOTHING!! We got faster services and customer care at the food truck across the street which is where we had to get food to finish our dinner!!!!
